with Cohen it’s going to be ok. This isn’t like a Wilpon team who would have Cano at 2nd again come Spring Training.
even the Dodgers took a while once their ownership changed.

1 hit in the biggest game of the year. I will be interested to see what that means. I don’t lie when I say that offering Judge something astronomical has to be on the table. In hindsight our deadline additions probably didn’t contribute to this outcome as much as they were possibly an acknowledgment of this likely outcome. That’s what I believe. In baseball terms their record was built off of a lot of great fortitude. Again best of luck to the Pads and anyone else that gets a chance to not let one of these other 3 teams win it. Also best of luck to all the Yanks fan on this board, hey we all got one awesome win today. Well said We still have some young prospects that can make big contributions next year as well, maybe making a big FA splash isn't what's needed And anyone but the Braves is fine with me

That post says a lot more about him than it does anyone or anything else. And he wonders why people are hostile with him

Don’t be shocked, money talks and BS runs the marathon.

I do think anything is possible. Cashman made an ass of himself and shoved a wedge between the Yankees and Judge before the year began by telling everyone what he offered. I think the Mets have a shot at him, but the Giants might be where he goes.

They have a ton of players hitting the market including multiple rotation members and most of the bullpen. We will see what they do.

We have so many questions in off-season. My understanding is we have little to no good pitching prospects in the minors.
We have Max coming back, but can he still hack a full season? Can Jake? Can bassit?
And others like Nimmo and more.
Can they really afford to sign judge in their situation?

Bassett is shaky, musgrove totally showed what a true middle of the rotation pitcher should look like on a playoff team. If Mets had more offensive fire power they'd have a chance of over coming the pitching, but they don't ...from the left side of the plate they a guy pretending to be Chris Farley pretending to be a legit power player. Even one player like Judge, wont fix the problem, because of their other issues. Mets are still a couple of big free agent signings from being a contender. Will Stevie big bucks do it? Soto? Judge? What pitchers are out there?

Brutal .........we were totally outplayed by the Padres in every facet of the game.
It wasn't fun to watch but i made it to the bitter end at 3.35 a.m
The best bit was Buck and EarGate !
Good season guys ......disappointing end. We just were not good enough to progress
Still seriously pissed off with MLBTv for blacking out all international fans for the playoffs ( without warning and against our purchase agreement )
Can we keep Nimmo , Jake , Diaz , Seth ? ......who knows
see you soon
regards UK

They are 34 and 33 years old. Max is 39. What's even more concerning is both Jake and Max had some significant time off during the season on the IL, and they still both seemed to lose it toward the end. Musgrove started every 5 days all season in 30 games with no problem, but he's 29. Some big decisions to make. One no brainer is to sign Diaz.

I think you don’t sign Jake and I hate to say that. You will pay him an absurd amount and does anyone really trust him to stay healthy. In Game 2 he was filthy for 1 inning. And then was a very good pitcher who made it through the next 5. You really have to look hard at his last 3 starts. Bassitt is a better pitcher to retain IMO. We have Max already who will be a good 1 during the regular season. Keep Walker who also is a fine middle rotation. I just think Jake is too much money and too many questions. Just one guys opinion though. In the BP keep Diaz and Ottavino for sure.
Edit: Looking at Sportrac it looks like we sit at 210 for next year which should be about 176 once Walker and DeGrom opt out. That means how aggressive we are will largely depend on Cohens stance on the Cohen tax.

I disagree.
I have no idea what the truth is, but there were plenty of reasons to ask for the check. All from reporting today.
His spin rate was significantly higher than in any other game this year. And yes, that could be because he was just pumped up, but seeing how the Yankees Cole is a totally different pitcher after substance checks, it's strange.
Multiple pictures showed a weird sheen on his ears. Maybe they were all manufactured. I saw one account claiming pitchers are putting hot sauce (I put that shit on ****ing everything?) on their ears to keep them focused?
I honestly don't care. Either they recognized something was off or they were just trying to **** with him, I liked the move.
And I love Gary, but he's the announcer, not the manager.

You don’t adrenaline yourself way to notably higher spin rates. Just because they didn’t catch him doesn’t mean he was wrong. Everyone trashing Buck, f*** that. I say hats off. He knew what the reaction and perception would be and acted on the best interests of his team anyway. Not shockingly in the hot take sports world nobody makes that distinction and trashes him. Results be damned , love me some Buck. GTFOH.

The dumbest take I've heard on it was something like "they pissed him off even more." He was destroying their lineup. Nobody came close to hitting him. He's all of a sudden having a spin rate he's never had before. What did Buck have to lose? Nothing but sacrificing himself for his players. Good managing IMO.

I’m not saying he used a substance, I’m just saying that if you’re gonna try to knock him off his game, do it earlier. I agree, it was just gamesmanship, he’s gotta try everything.

As proven by Fried and Verlander today sometimes good pitchers just get knocked around in the playoffs. It happens.

Don't get to see much NL games during season. Just started watching at the end when braved played Mets with division on the line. And the. Padres at Mets in post season. First time seeing them and then last night vs dodgers. Padres look really good, wouldnt be surprised to see them in the WSC
