It seemed like the game merely confirmed that our problems run deep and we benefited from horrendous quarterback play from the opponent. In the past, these types of wins have been enough to keep Mara from making the necessary changes. It's nice watching the Eagles embarrass themselves but I can't shake the feeling that the joke is still on us.

I will never ever feel meh about beating the eagles.
But the win doesn’t represent momentum or a turnaround, nothings been “figured out”.
If anything the game highlighted that the offensive line issues occupy slots 1-5 on our “Giants biggest problems” list. .
Once again. The Garrett firing provided emotional relief only. Changing the steering wheel in a car with a broken engine doesn’t change much.

I did see some nice wrinkles to the play calling for the most part. Overall did you notice any wow factor to the offense or anything different? Nice to see some crossing patterns and such and saw Slayton had a nice few I believe on crosses

But if you didn’t know Garrett was fired you wouldn’t say the offence was run that differently. And for those the say it was, it’s a semantical argument: same result. Can push the ball downfield. Can’t run. Can’t score in the red zone. Defenses can just ignore the run against us and play the pass 100% of the time. They get consistent non-blitz pressure. Which means our 5 guys can’t block their 4. In some cases our 5 can’t block 3.

For me, I'm happy we beat them, but not excited about anything.

My hope would be there are some more schematic changes as it relates to gameplanning since it's not a short week and everyone knows what's what now. That said, the execution issues you highlighted above - hard to see them disappearing. If Ben Bredeson is healthy, I find it difficult to imagine he'd be worse than Skura, and I'm having a tough time understanding how Peart could be worse than Solder. If I were the coaching staff I'd do anything to improve run blocking, and pass protection against base rushes.

They beat us so often aand in so many heartbreaking ways. Screw the Eagles, this loss hurts their chances of the playoffs, it has them foaming at the mouth. Especially after last year when they laid down the last game. F # # K THE EAGLES ! Of course our problems still exist but we could win 4 or 5 of the last 7 games including this one. And our offense is still a bunch of shit. Believe it or not were only 1 game behind in the loss column of the 7th playoff spot in the NFC. Ain't that a kick in the head. When the smoke cleared this morning and I'm watching the talking heads on TV saying the Giants are still in the hunt I almost choked on my coffee. Our offensive flaws are monstrous and yet we might still wind up with 7-8 wins.

Eli is excited...and he let Eagles fan Kevin Hart know all about since Kevin roasted the Giants on the last Manning Cast. I'm actually surprised he didn't throw in a "Eagles came up a little bit short" comment as well.

I'm going to take a page out of ' book and say that I am concerned about facing Miami's defense next weekend. That game IMO will be similar to the one that we witnessed yesterday. Their defense has been on fire lately.

As long as the same pieces stay injured (Toney, Shep, TEs), we’ll see how different the results are. I still maintain that most of the “weirdness” in the playcalling is because of the difficulties at QB and o line. I want to be wrong. I just don’t think I am.

No doubt the problems at OL has been a hug hindrance on Jones and the play calling. I think we'll start to see the true differences between Garrett and Kitchens over the next couple of games.

In the past, these types of wins have been enough to keep Mara from making the necessary changes. It's nice watching the Eagles embarrass themselves but I can't shake the feeling that the joke is still on us. What happens next for us as a franchise will depend on how the team evolves the rest of the way. There was one thing that stood out to me on a Few plays this week. We had open receivers and Jones wasn’t throwing into tight coverage on every pass. Kitchens was able to get guys open even for a few seconds. Something JG never seemed capable of. The offense will evolve over the rest of the year. Kitchens doesn’t have the luxury of an off-season to implement something new and has to do so on the fly. So if by game 17 we are still getting just 13-17 points and 250-300 total yards from the offense, then there will probably be a house cleaning. But if by game 17 we are scoring 20-25 points a game, dare I dream of a 30 point game or two along the way, and DJ has a few 300 yard games and the running game gets going, then I think the coaching staff stays together, we pilfer some scouts/front office types from NE that know the types of players Judge wants, and we roll with the dice next year on judge as coach, kitchens as OC, and DJ at QB. I feel like with JG gone, Judge has his guys in place. So if he sinks or swims from here on out it’s no excuses and 100% on him

Some of the biggest homers and DG supporters on this board would say the Giants were a good team and DG a good GM if they went 2-15 but still won the division. Some fans want to see improvement within the team itself when they win, not just the opposing QB making poor decisions. The Giants statistically got their asses kicked and were lucky Reagor was doing his best imitation of EE last year not once, but twice.
Other than beating Philthy because they’re Philthy there was more to be concerned than excited about but homers will do what they do best and deny reality.

Some of the biggest pessimists and complainers on this board are never more upset than after a victory. You didn’t seem too happy during the live game thread, neither did you bestie who liked your post above and constantly complains about others complaining when he does it himself. Oh that’s right Mike, I forgot, you told me a week or two ago that its ok to complain during live game threads but not afterwards. I must have forgot to read the rules about not being able to be critical or complain after the game is over. Hopefully Judge, or the rest of the coaching staff, isn’t as complacent as you and enjoy piss poor performances as much as you do.
