two weeks to opening day. Tough days ahead for a lot of players. For some of these guys, even if you are on the 53 and PS by tomorrow after 4pm, doesn't mean you'll be there the next day or the day after that...etc.
Musical players and throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks to a degree.

Nature of the business, tough stuff for the players trying to get a spot on the roster or PS. Maybe land somewhere else?
Then, not sure how much of it is wishful thinking that you can find an upgrade from other teams roster cuts for a Guard, DB even TE.
No doubt final roster will have some changes tough to speculate. The only thing for certain is it all happens pretty quickly now.

That’s supposed to be a link to an up-to-date list of players cut, not a subscription ad.

Oh Well Carl Banks gave him the talk of shame when he didn’t decimate that receiver against the Patriots. You get one opportunity to showcase yourself, and he folded like a bad card hand.

Thank you for posting this. They’re people. I think fans forget that. It was something Schoen did that impressed me when he came here. He mentioned he knew what it felt like to have a leadership change. The fear and uncertainty. That empathy is modern leadership. Old school leadership ignores this stuff. Like what Coughlin used to say “firm, fair, honest, and accountable”. Agree with that. Its what you need to succeed at a high level. But that ignores a lot of other stuff that matters to people, and athletes are people. You can maintain your desire for accountability AND be empathetic. I winced when fans were saying Daboll must be “soft” because he’s a player coach. I don’t think fans think that as much now. He can give a shit abouy people and hold them to the highest standard. Anyway. Sorry for the rant.

I agree, but you also have to remember they are still only playing a game. I would do anything to get to cut by the NYGs at the end of a preseason. Of course, I would have planned on being cut, and had my backup plan waiting. The guys getting cut right now were long shots, they knew this. This doesn't mean I dont feel sympathy for them, but 99% of people know this is a sport. You have to be very talented and very disciplined to survive. Most dont. Be prepared. I think it s a bit different than a fortune 500 company axing employees to better their profit margins. Maybe its closer to a job interview of 100 people for a couple of positions.

Especially for some guys who make the final 53 and then are released a few days later because other players have been made available by other teams.

In todays NFL of incredible revenues and profits combined with higher propensity for injury during a game… …I’ve always wondered why do rosters have to be cut down to 53? It’s be nice if the roster was expanded. It’s the intersection of owners and NFLPA. Owners would love a larger roster where they could just pay all players less. NFLPA would never agree to that (and they shouldn’t) NFLPA would love a 70 man roster with a proportional bump in the salary cap. The owners would never agree to that (and they shouldn’t). So here we are.

Good start. More than 20 more cuts to be made as Giants will be adding more players.

I don't feel too bad, most of them leave with college degrees they didn't have to pay for. They got a nice cash payout to play in the NFL for a few weeks before they have to go job hunting. For many of these guys that's all they were hoping for. If they have the talent to play, they'll make it somewhere else.

Hope Giants upgrade from Myarick st TE, and that he isn't on final 53-man roster.

DB Yusuf Corker... Wow. Thought he was staying with Adams going. I had him pegged as cut I know it was a long shot, but when they cut Adams I thought he was in. So safeties are... X McKinney, J Love aaaaaaaaand..... Belton is hurt. Thompson? In 2023, we need some DBs galore.

Sounds like Slayton will be traded for a late round pick. Several teams interested. As unused as he has become, he still plays more than Toney or Golladay.

They like Thompson over Corker, and even he may not make the roster.
