It would be nice for them to become relevant again. Has anyone ever seen the “mr big shot “ documentary? I think that’s what it is called. It was really good.

Isles co-owner Jon Ledecky expects Belmont arena construction to begin in May. Islanders co-owner Jon Ledecky said he expects construction on the team’s arena at Belmont Park to begin in May while adding that he is taking the community’s concerns “very seriously.” “I think when you’re building a project of that scale, you want to make sure all the different groups have input, whether it’s business groups, community groups, residents,” Ledecky told Newsday on Thursday at Northwell Health Ice Center in East Meadow following a news conference to announce the organization will partner with LGBT Network for an anti-bullying initiative in more than 200 Long Island and New York City schools. www.newsday.com/sports/hockey/islanders/jon-ledecky-belmont-arena-1.21836027

The Islanders win the "Battle of New York Hockey" tonight by beating the Rangers 7-5. Figures Lundqvist would have to sh** the bed against the Islanders. No matter how good they have or haven't been, my god the Rangers suck against the Islanders.

The Islanders laid an egg tonight. It was a rough night for them, giving up a horrible luck goal 30 seconds into the game can.take the wind out of the sails quickly. 1 a piece now.

We stole one last night in MSG. Only one shot on goal in the 3rd period and it was the game winner.

Islanders are looking much better than I anticipated this season. They do need a face of the team though. Got to get a superstar.

Playoffs at Nassau Coliseum? NHL owes it to Islanders As complicated as the situation is for commissioner Gary Bettman, the decision should be easy. Nassau should win in a landslide. There are roughly 13,917 good reasons why the Islanders should be allowed to play their potential playoff games at Nassau Coliseum. Here is the one that stands out and should count the most: The National Hockey League owes it to them. Commissioner Gary Bettman announced last week at the All-Star Game and Islanders general manager Lou Lamoriello acknowledged in his first post-break interview with reporters Thursday that the league will have the final word on whether the postseason games will be held in Uniondale or Brooklyn. www.newsday.com/sports/columnists/mark-herrmann/islanders-playoffs-nassau-coliseum-1.26785017
