I knew we would lose to a much better team, just shocked our entire defense forgot how to tackle and our O didn’t show up at all. . I was afraid of a blowout, but was hoping for a close game. Our D backs looked like 12 year olds trying to tackle NFL players. That was the most pathetic part for me. At one point 4 Giants on Gainwell and he gains 3 more yards for a first down.

Are you saying that beating the 2nd worst defense in the league, having one the softest schedules and barely beating bad teams didn’t convince you that this team was play off worthy? The hell you say! I was hoping for a competitive game, but this was pretty predictable. The egals are better in every aspect of the game. As I said before. I was telling myself it would be competitive but I wasn't believing it unless the eagles had 3 TOs and gave up some big plays that might have evened it up a little. Realistically this is the same team that started year 1 of a rebuild in September. Playoffs or superbowl this is still a team at the end of year 1 of their rebuild hopefully the front office doesn't get fooled like Gettlemen did and think they are on their way. As long as our front office realizes this franchise still has a long way to go and needs to have a bullseye on the Eagles and the Cowboys interns of drafting to match their strengths.

Oooof. Well that hurt. Good season. One of the most one sided beat downs that I can remember in the playoffs. Giants need to answer lots of questions No, they don't. The Giants are building what they're building. Next year is next year.

Certainly no snow angles tonight

Off tackle has been killing this team all year they survived it for the most part it is on tape they won't next year unless they fix it they need some savages .

Next year is next year. Giants need to build off what happened in this game because it is the second time it happened against the same team that is a division rival. Their personnel moves should be geared to beating the Eagles if they achieve that on the regular they will be able to beat anyone at anytime.

Let it hurt, let it embarrass Remember it for next season to hit hard early and often Make pay back a bitch. This was supposed to be payback. For the 2 losses this season. For the last 2 postseason losses vs them. For constantly being their doormat. Next season won't matter As I was posting this... trust me this was poking at me but what choice is there? If and when we dominate the Eagles in a game again it will need to cure alot of pent up losing to the Eagles angst. It really sucks how bad the Eagles make the Giants look time in and time out, again and again.

The Eagles have had the best front office for well over a decade under Howie Roseman, who has been incomparable in the league on landing the right players via the draft and trades, and finding the right coaches. The Giants on the other hand have floundered in the front office for far too long. The results are a talent gap between these 2 teams that's grown so large that we resemble a college team playing an NFL team against the Eagles. Shoen is here to finally fix this. I hope he can. BTW, the Eagles have the #6 pick this year, while we are in the 20s. A GM is as important as a head coach in this league, and the Eagles have the best.

I watched the game up to the end, but was pretty disheartened and turned the TV off and went to bed when time expired. I just didn't have the strength to post anymore. Like BBD said above, we really need to form the team to beat our division rivals. We've been their fodder for too many years now. Unlike previous years, I have confidence that this FO will do just that. We had a very good year this season, a lot better than expected, and I think are set up to improve upon it going forward.

The Giants offensive and defensive schemes were not as good last night but that was over-shadowed by the fact that the Giants players overall were not not at the Eagles level.
The Giants 2nd and 3rd stringers played well against the Eagles starters in their prior game and should not be ignored nor dismissed..
The Giants roster will be stronger next season as the Giants will be signing or drafting players on the OL,WRs, DL, and DBs.
How the FO resolves both the Jones and Barkley's retention will tell us if there's hope going forward. Barkley coming back may be more iffy.
The Giants do need to show next that they can consistently score more points and give up fewer points.
That may be difficult as will winning more games as the Giants will be hard pressed to do so given their tougher up-coming schedule and possible turnover in coaches. We'll just have to see.
The Giants signing good free agents and having a good draft are essential if the Giants are to have a good season. .
Giants players returning from seasons ending injuries will help, that will not offset by players suffering similar injuries next season.
I would like to see Daboll call plays if Kafka departs.

You guys make several good points. I actually believed that the Giants were going to win this game,, and I talked trash all weel long to the Eagle fans. Boy I'm glad I stayed home and watched the game...wait it wasnt a game. The Giants didn't show up.
The Giants didn't stick to what has gotten them this far. Hell, I don't they had a game plan. Especially a defensive plan. How many hits to the face do you take before you realize you have to protect your face. Common sense, right? Well evidently, Don doesn't have any. The defensive players didn't help at all. Did you guys see some of the defensive players throw their hands on the air during an active play...What were they doing? Trying to get the coaches attention? Referees? The Giants didn't even try to come of the block. Is that even taught any longer?
Any who... I digress. I hope Danny boy is gone. He may be a better RB than QB.

He may be a better RB than QB. I agree with your points about the Giants defense, but do believe Jones coming back is essential. Jones had a hard time excelling as the Eagles kept the Giants off the field in the first and shut down both the Giants passing and running game in the first half. Also, Jones was under constant pressure, receivers were covered, they didn't catch balls they should have, he was off on some throws, and he didn't have many opportunities to throw deep passes. Hardly calling deep throws all season didn't help either. It seemed that Wink was totally engrossed on what defense he would call on next play, and not on how bad some of his players were playing. Should have made wholesale changes in ILBs and DBs early on and didn't. Ugly to watch as ILBs committed to going to place where they would be blocked and telegraphing to the Eagles runners where the opening route would be. Also, as you say, they made no effort to fight thru blocks. But equally bad the Eagles had his number,as his defenses could not stop the Eagles inside nor outside on runs and passes. .

Honestly, the game was over after that first 4th down failed attempt. I like aggressive but that wasnt it.
As much as the offense needs a #1 WR and IOL help, the defense desperately needs an alpha at MLB, CB2 and another edge rusher. I'd even say IDL for when Lawrence needs to catch his breath because Ellis got bullied.

I think at this point we need to draft , free-agency or trade for a veteran QB. DJ is now in his 4th season and he is still under performing. He is a great back up QB/RB. You can use him in different packages, but it's time to get a real QB....and get rid of some of those horrible offensive linemen

As Jones has accurate arm, is strong, has high completion rate, few turnovers, and runs extremely well. He's a top NFL QB. He played under crappy coaches till this season.,Giants want him back. If he doesn't come-back the Giants will take a step backwards. At least, most posters here now realize that. Some don't.

How much that will cost the Giants will go a long way in determining if we can fast track the rebuild, with a mix of free agents and early picks, or will we have to settle mainly on picks, early and late to develop. This is the first great test for Shoen, as he has some cap to work with, but a lot of it is going to go to players already on the team. It's an unfortunate spot to be in considering the great many needs of this team.

This is the worse game I've seen Dabol coach. Going for a 4th and 8 in the 1st qtr between the 40 and 50 yd line down 7-0 instead of pinning them deep with a punt. Then punting in the 4th qtr down 28-7 on 4th down. Now were going to punt ? As good as Kafka and Wink came up with game plans last week their units were just over matched tonight by so much who the hell knows if their game plans were any good going in. Plus, Philly has a few NO.1 draft picks 2023 That's correct Phil, I believe they have the 5th or 6th pick in the draft . I think from N.O. Plus their own #1 pick.

Ya know, I wake up in a positive mood for once, thought you, myself and USMC were having a nice early conversation, then some other nice folks join in and YOU start ****ing it all up. I’ve had about enough of your shit. Pretty soon my wife will wake up and ask why I’m already pissed off (not uncommon) but now you’re quickly becoming the reason. I hope you’re happy with yourself. I need to watch some EPL, already missed the first 15 minutes dealing with your bullshit. Good day sir. Man....they got smoked in every way shape and form. Jones was terrible as was the rest of the team. Coaching, scheme, adjustments, execution.... the whole package just sucked. Mostly positive season but this was a gut punch for sure. Def brought the confidence meter down a few ticks. The last thing I expected was a blow out. Never saw that coming.

The coach basically said what I said before the game - "Tough Game. We really got beat in all facets, so it wasnt one thing in particular. It was a team game and we just didnt get it done." They are just significantly better in almost every way compared to the Giants, and they showed it last night.

The Eagles have no weakness, anywhere. I've felt from about the midway point of the season that they were the most complete team in the NFL.
They lost to a much better team, there is no shame in that. Better starters and better depth.
But Nick Siriani is a pos. That bullshit charade with going for 2 was such a dbag move. What the **** was the point?
Things will turn, and that will be remembered by Daboll.
