I don't see Eagles "resting" starters. They can still win division. I suppose if they see Dallas crushing Washington, they may start pulling folks. Plus they need a lot of work to get back their mojo. A blowout win would help that.
And just like last week, I was cheering like crazy for Giants to win at the end, but a slight sigh of relief, or at least indifference at the outcome...haha.... Same today... Argh...

I’m not asking nor do I want the coaches or players to purposely lose but I’d bet good money if you put a gun to Schoens head about which he wants more today, a win or a loss, he would say a loss. There’s a damn good chance his job, and Dabs, depends on how next year goes. Whether he has a QB in mind, possibly trade back, or do whatever…I’m sure he would want the most options possible to save his job over a literal meaningless win (probably a good portion which will be against back ups). In all likelihood the Eagles will have absolutely nothing to gain from this game and neither do we, all we have is draft spots to lose. We’ve won one game at the end of the season once on the past 6-7 years and you know who it was against? 2020 against the cowboys when they were resting their starters. Everyone knows how I hate the cowboys more than anything on earth but I would have rather lost that game. If anything it was an embarrassment, a slap in the face and a final dicking by a division rival for costing us draft position. We would be laughing and laughing if we were guaranteed a specific playoff spot and we f’ed the eagles or cowboys by resting our starters and giving them the win therefore f’ing them in the draft the following year. If I owned the Giants and my GM was hoping for a loss against a division rival who’s sitting their starters, I would feel certain I picked the wrong man for the job. And if I was the GM and we had just lost the game, I don’t think I’d want to show my face around the owner for a few days. But that’s me.

Man Shep was such a good rep for this franchise. Injuries really tanked his career. I hope they can bring him back in some manner. He deserves to be a Giant for life. It was a dark time to stick it out with this franchise. LMAO Giants "fans" wanting us to lose. The Jets board is down the road, go root for tanking with them. I hope we beat the Eagles by 50, send them in a tailspin and hopefully help the Bucs beat them next week.
Edit: For anyone keeping track if we win and the Titans and Chargers win we still keep the 5th position. We would need Titans, Chargers and Jets to all lose for us to drop to 8th.
First you left out another scenario if we lose and N.E. and Ariz. win we would pick 3rd. If one of them win and we lose we pick 4th. Also probably the Titans, Chargers, and Jets do probably all lose. We do have a realistic chance to move up our position in the draft. You root for what you want of course I'm rooting for what's best for the franchise.

Ask Saquon about loyalty and he'll tell you the same thing. I guess I'm the poster child for dumb loyal, lol It will be a cold day in hell before I root for the ****ing eagles to beat us, regardless of draft position. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, I've been consistent with mine... If we lose I'll be upset. But then like last week, a moment later I'll be immediately grateful.

The road to the 2nd overall pick is still alive:
1 PM Games: Patriots beat the Jets. Falcons beat the Saints. (need this outcome for Strength of Schedule)
4:25 Games: Eagles beat the Giants Commanders beat the Cowboys Cardinals beat the Seahawks. Bears beat the Packers (need this outcome for Strength of Schedule) Broncos beat the Raiders (need this outcome for Strength of Schedule)

The truth is that there is no way to know exactly what is the best scenario for the team.
I am old enough to remember the Pisarcik fumble. It was the best thing that could have happened. But at the time not one peson thought that.

confusing snow, nope there is rain, now snow, temps anywhere from 29-38, might be wind. Every forecast is different than what is actually happening. Nor Easter Rain first then Snow thinks it's hard for them to pin down when it will transition depends on the temp high above us.

Fact is with a loss or a win we could end up in the same position.

This is a must LOSE game! We could draft anywhere from #2 spot to the #8 spot depending on this game! The future is more important than this garbage meaningless game in this garbage meaningless season! Play the 3rd stringers and out tank the Eagles! Imagine a GM and HC talking this way. I know, you can’t. Oh I can imagine a GM if not a HC "silently thinking" this way as long as his job is safe. Because a GM knows it would improve his position no matter what he wants to do.

I think everyone roots for the team to win just makes the sting little less if they lose, I expect them to not make the mistakes they have in the last 2 weeks in 2 games that were theirs and given by gift to the Beagles and the Lambs. @#$% both those teams and everyone else we gift rapped a win to.

If we were 8-8 or 7-9 going into today yes I would root for Big Blue to beat the Eagles it would make no difference really in the draft. But at a chance to pick 3rd in the draft "QB country" in this draft I want what's best for this franchise to turn around. A win only hurts our position in the draft. The draft is the main road to improvement, yes there's FA also.
But right now this year the only way we can get better is by better draft position. And that's what I'm rooting for to turn the most important position QB from being weak to becoming a strength. We all know you don't win in the NFL without a top QB.

But that’s me

One of the beat guys that I read his stuff watch their pod said Schoen looked like he was ready to explode the last couple should have been wins, and Daboll is just as pissed off right after the game. when he gets in the press elevator the elevator next to the press one is front office and employees from what he says they are so ticked off he usually says hello and some small talk after these games he won't even say hello they are so on edge. Think the anger you hope our for from our Ownership GM and Head coach is at a highly satisfactory level they all take these losses hard.

If you were a “fan” you would have been calling for DG’s head instead of supporting him until the very end while also defending his GM malpractice as he was setting this team back 5 years with his horrendous decisions. But no, you continued to blindly support him because he was the Giants GM.

Jeez, I didn't know we could drop that far. Guess that would be worse case Ontario, miss out on the top QBs, miss out on MHJ and Nabors... we'd be proper ****ed I think Ozunde is right up there with MHJ and Nabors, or perhaps they go O Line in that case. Nothing is finite in the draft, but they do need to be diligent in putting their draft board together, and live by it. I think if we drop to 8, Odunze is my top choice. The QBs will be gone, MHJ and Nabors will be gone, Alt and Fashanu will most likely be gone.... Maybe Brock Bowers??

At 8 those 2 stud OTs will be gone for sure. Pass Rushers, Bowers, and the CBs will most likely be available. I really dont want to take a CB in the 1st, personally, Id prefer us to go with a vet as our other outside CB to pair along with Banks. I feel like a strong vet presence will help with the development of Banks, Flott, Hawkins and who know, maybe even Aaron Robinson... is he still a football player? LOL

Many tall/big receivers. Pretty exciting draft imo. Who are some of your favorites? Compared to ours? I like everybody lol I figure Harrison’s genetics may supersede all. I do like Coleman though. Bias take, I’d go SEC Nabers over Odunze yet that’s kinda shallow. I think Legette is the silent darkhorse who is going to appear on a lot of radars come the combine. Corley is one of those weapons I can see dropping to a Philly or Dallas who could haunt us. Then again, wherever Belichick goes I could see Corley. Then it’s a blur for me. Receivers from Texas, USC idk remember their names. Then I can’t tell if the (other guys) at LSU and Ohio State are good or are they better b/c opponents focus on Nabers and Harrison? What do you think?
