I dont say this lightly
That is the worst trade proposal I have ever seen a paid talent throw out there, it rivals some WFAN trade proposals for worst I have ever seen
The Watson contract is worse than the Jones contract.

I don't say this lightly either. The Watson contract is INFINITELY worse than the Jones contract for many reasons, one of which is the contract itself.

Agreed Watson is a POS and has not shown a love of football or remorse since his return. Feel bad for Browns fans, if they kept Baker and the draft capital they may have been SB champs. If they did anything other than that Watson deal they’d have been contenders for a decade

Jeez.
if you hate that DJ contract, you’re gonna hate DW’s even more.
PS: it really tells you something that in order for this trade to work in Tannenbaum’s mind, the Browns need to throw in a 2nd rd pick for us to trade Daniel Jones.
Let your brain chew on that for awhile. .

I’d rather have a shitty contract like DJ’s on the roster than a shitty human being like Deshaun Watson. Is this guy drunk?

Yup at least with Jones they can get out of it Watsons they are stuck so he either plays well or they bight the bullet ad pay him to play for some one else.

The Giants are going to be non-competitive for 2-3 more years because of the DJ trade, but at least they can start to move forward in 2025.

HaHa, I was watching this today as it was happening. At first I thought Watson 29 yrs old and a 2nd rd pick for DJ that sounds pretty good. Watson probably healthier than Jones. That would give us 3 2nd rd picks, we would have our QB, and still pick 6th in the 1st rd.
But Watsons contract of 46 mil a year for 3 more years guaranteed. DJ's contract we can escape after the 24 season. Watson's contract no escape. I wish I had more confidence in Watson. As someone said the last time Watson was a winner was when he was at Clemson. But damn that would have been a sweet draft. Could fix a lot of holes.

I'm wondering if thoughts like this are partially why he isn't in the front office of any team anymore

He probably was thinking John Mara love’s throwing away money he gave Eli an extension when he was heavily washed up so there’s probably where he got that idea from 🤷♂️.

I'm wondering if thoughts like this are partially why he isn't in the front office of any team anymore LOL, I tell you as I watched this today that I really enjoyed the conversation. To even offer this trade means that the Browns want to get out of the Watson contract that their throwing in a 2nd rd pick. The Browns made a nice run with Flacco at QB. And getting DJ they wouldn't save any money this year. So they must be worried about the last 2 years of that contract. I'd be thinking they're throwing in a 2nd rd pick to make the deal sweet what do they know that I don't. DJ's deal there's an out after 2024. Watsons is the next 3 years at 46 mil a year guaranteed. You know that old saying that if it sounds too good to be true.

Watson is better then DJ. No debate there. Problem with him is, does he really want to play? Browns F'd up and gave him a fully guaranteed contract. With him your on the hook for how many years? Aleast with DJ it's 1-2 more years before we can kick his sorry butt goodbye. Both horrible contracts.

This is where analyst ditch hits for clicks.. In the world where you must separate yourself from the stragglers. He proposed an idea that would cause a storm of shockwaves. No one that doesn’t have a death wish would bring that trade to the owners front desk. The Browns who are still on the hook for $138 million fully guaranteed.. Would take a bag of dirt at quarterback to get out from under that dead weight of a contract.

Just to also add if this guy is supposed to be an analyst of some kind he knows zip about NYG ownership and the new GM. They are all about "good" humans--especially as a face of their franchise. They would extend DJ or roll with DeVito before ever letting Watson take the helm--even for free.

He should know the intricacies of the cap and the differences between both teams' agreements.

LOL, this is plain stupid! I don't think much of this article. Typical offseason nonsense. Teams trading their mistakes, both guys with horrible contracts. But you know what else is stupid, since 2019 (DJs first year), Watson has played in 43 games and has thrown 73 TDs. Meanwhile your favorite bum QB has played in 60 games and has only thrown 62 TDs. Now that's stupid.

I would rather have my QB throw Tds and force the defense to defend the full field. But if you must know..... DJ has 13 rushing TDs in his career. DeShaun Watson has 14 since 2019.

If Gettlemen were still here maybe lol. Thats just one bad contract of and under performing QB for a worse one for a guy who is under performing and has more problems than any team would want to have talk about weekly while he is not performing.
No thanks Mr T you just confirmed why you are done Going and NFL team.
