Michael Jordan was a third round pick. I am not personally pro - Canadian basketball player. Yes, I know Nash is Canadian. What, I would try, is trade #3 for the Wizards pick #9, plus Bradley Beal. Then with the Wizard pick Nickel Alexander Walker, 6ft. 5inch, shooting guard. Yes, He is Canadian, as is Reddick. This will give the Knicks, outside shooting. Jordan was not a 3rd round pick. Lol Third pick in the draft.

One of the mocks has Zion obviously going to NO #1
Then they had Griz taking Barrett to team with Conley and make one of the best backcourt combos for a few years ot go with JA due to Conley aging
Then they had this to say about the Knicks pick:
3. Knicks: Ja Morant, PG, Murray State
The clear loser in the new lottery system, New York just posted a 17-win season and didn’t land the grand prize. Morant is an easy selection, as is Barrett here at No. 3.
It could have been worse, but not by much. One of the NBA’s marquee markets is stuck in perpetual basketball hell. Even Zion might not have changed that.
Oh well..
And remember as guys on here have mentioned Ja played against much less talented players in the mid major conference Murray State is in while Barrett faced very stiff competition

So, where does Zion go in 5 years now? Because he is irrelevant in NO. The NBA has to fix this ridiculous draft process. Zion has been talked about as a generational type player, and now he's going to no one cares Pelicans. As for the Knicks, are we surprised? Here's hoping they get Durant and Leonard. But realistically Leonard is either going back to Toronto or LA. Never know. He might want to be part of bringing a title back to NY. It's been what 46 years?? The team that gets us a title after all those years goes down as a team that will NEVER BE FORGOTTEN no matter what happens in the future. Imagine the young studs they already have + Leonard, Durant & and either Barrett/ Morant? Instant contenders!!!! Or trade the pick and try and keep as much as they can of young guys and have Davis join Durant & Leonard. WOW

Zion Williamson’s heartbreak: He wanted Knicks before shocker. Zion Williamson may have been more heartbroken than Knicks fans. The wunderkind Duke phenom had been rooting for the Knicks to win his namesake sweepstakes, according to ESPN, only to see the New Orleans Pelicans jump from the seventh slot to the top overall pick following a chaotic lottery reveal. Williamson was “quickly whisked” out of the NBA draft lottery room in Chicago after the Pelicans shockingly stole the No. 1 pick, the outlet reported. The Knicks (third overall), Cleveland Cavaliers (fifth overall) and Phoenix Suns (sixth overall) — which all had an odds-high 14 percent of winning the lottery — came up short. While Williamson remained coy all season-long about his preferred destination, there he was in December, glowing in the Madison Square Garden locker room after a Duke-Texas Tech matchup. nypost.com/2019/05/14/zion-williamsons-heartbreak-he-wanted-knicks-before-shocker/

That first post lottery interview with him was telling. His words (lack their of) and expressions on his face. Bummer.

Knicks season just ended. Yeah I don't see us getting any good FAs either. So lets say they get Barrett... What FA would want that? Barrett, Knox, ect? You think KD sees that and likes it? Maybe he goes back to NO now with Zion and they re-up Anthony Davis now.

Sure, but that means the worst teams in the league dont get better lol. No parity in the NBA. Who ever has one or two of the 4 or 5 top guys wins every year.

I think the lottery is too easily fixable. They should just do what the NFL does. The worst teams get the top picks. It makes sense. If teams tank, they are tanking anyways. The Knicks should be getting the best player in the draft to make them better. Now a team like the Pelicans who has talent on their team gets more talent, and the Knicks most likely stink still. How does that help the NBA?

Ya know, the more I think about this, the more I'm starting to think it was a rigged draft.
The 3 teams who were "tanking" wound up with picks 3 5 and 6.
Did the NBA rig it to try to prove that tanking wont work anymore going forward? To try to persuade teams away from tanking?
I still dont understand why it's done behind closed doors either.

Every report says Durant will be a Knick. Not sure what will happen, but AD also immediately made it known the lottery changed nothing. Still wants to be traded and is holding Pelicans hostage saying he will only sign an extension with NY or LA. If the Knicks really get KD and KI why not just keep the pick and take the best SG prospect to come out on a while? If they trade for AD they would have to give up the 3rd pick, future 1sts(they have 7 in next 5 years), knox, Smith, Robinson too. AD is a supreme talent, but that is a crazy haul.

If they were able to still land some top free agents, that would certainly change my opinion. And getting AD is probabyl worth giving up all that other stuff if they can get a big 3 like KD, KI and AD. They would still need to find 3 more guys who can play a lot of minutes though. Also, whats up with KDs injury? They have been very quiet about it.

It’s a great question as to the injury, but they say it’s a calf strain. If he comes back during the playoffs that would be more reassuring.

ZION ABOUT TO PULL AN ELI! He should have not signed an agent. And went back to school for another year. Once you hire an agent you’re fully committed to becoming a professional. Unless he decides to play overseas, if I was him I would really weigh my options. Going to the Pelicans is going to hurt your pockets in endorsements and you’re going to suck. Look at Anthony Davis, kid is a stud but no one watches him play. Big reason he wants out.

So the Knicks miss out on Zion and Ja, and then their top priority blows out his Achilles in the finals.
Sounds oh so Knickish. So much money to spend and no one to spend it on.
They will be picking in the lotto again next year.
The Knicks tradition lives on.

Do they offer KD the max they can anyway? You “redshirt him and they will pick in the top 5 again next year. Not the worst thing. So glad they took Barrett, I have been expecting them to screw it up since they got the pick. Their actions of late haven’t been Knickish which is a positive development. Took Barrett, didn’t offer 6 players for AD, told the Rockets to f*** off when they tried to pawn off CP3’s contract on is. In the ways of the Knicks, these are positive things.

under the circumstances, I'm glad they picked him, did not want them to trade out of that spot and to me he was clearly the best player at 3. Personally, I hate the lottery, think it should be done like the NFL, based on team record. If someone wants to tank, so be it.

Agreed, I think them bringing in Scott Perry has really helped change how this franchise operates with personnel. He seems much more willing to take the slow build and not take on any bad contracts. Honestly, the best possible outcome for the Knicks right now is for them to sign KD, and that's it, let the young guys grow together for another year with Barrett, Knox and Robinson as the focal points, get a high lottery pick next year and either draft another top player or trade for a top player and then go sign another max player to pair with KD and Barrett.

I am really happy with Barret and that kid we got from Michigan there both really good prospects! We just might have gotten the second best player in this draft and the best draft pick since Ewing! Way better then Porzingis when we drafted him,
how can you watch these highlights and not get excited for the Knicks future also people knocking these deals in here are you Nets fans?
