Name a good historic NBA coach who didnt have superstars on their teams.... Not only did the Bulls need a great coach but they also needed someone who could check all the egos in that Bulls locker room which PJ did. Jordan Pippen Rodman Kobe Shaq... Those are some seriously huge egos. So Steve Kerr has been to 5 straight Finals, he must be one of the greatest coaches of all time. So yeah, he is obviously pretty good. Thats how you rate coaching. Did Pat Riley suck as a HC because he had talents? Maybe Red Aurabach did too?Unfortunately, we dont know how Kerr would be on a different team. Maybe he would be great, maybe he wouldnt be. You cant just throw away a coaches accomplishments however just because he has great players. Same goes for Phil Jackson. Thats my 2 cents. Belichick is a great HC too, probably the GOAT HC, but would you take that away because he had BRady?

Football is different, Belichek is clearly great. Kerr almost went to the Knicks instead of Golden State and if he had he would have fallen on his face. I am just saying that Phil Jackson is overrated as a coach. How did that fabled triangle offense work when the Knicks ran it?

Clippers just made a Herschel Walker type trade with OKC for Paul George, and signed Kawai L. They better hope they are really competitive the next 5 years or so:
The Clippers are sending Oklahoma City their unprotected 2022, 2024 and 2026 picks, their unprotected 2021 and protected 2023 first-round picks via Miami, and the rights to swap picks with the Clippers in 2023 and 2025, league sources said.
