Philly hates him so that's a ++ in my book.
He's a good player at a position we needed to fill at a decent contract. Great job by Schoen IMO.

We signed Phillips for one year, 1.79M. Polar opposite of the premium we paid for Solder. I have no problem with this low cost depth signing. Agreed, I don't get that comparison either. I have no questions about heart or desire. Phillips has a high motor and gives 110% effort on every play. But it's a shame we couldn't originally sign Robinson to more than a year. It's possible we tried. I understand and even accept that this is how teams fill out their roster in a cap friendly way. I'm just fretting that so many of these kind of guys are just showing up for another payday, with their best days as players long gone. I would guess that the very best GMs know how to sort out those players more likely to still have some fight left. I am hoping that Schoen (and his scouts) have something of an eye for this phase of roster building.

I was really hoping we were going to make a play to keep him. Not sure what we signed Phillips for, but I think Robinson signed a 3 year 21mil deal with Carolina, we totally could have coughed up the cash to keep him Ashawn was a run stuffer, while Phillips seems to be much more of a pass rushing DT Sounds like he's a better fit for the new DC's system, at a fraction of the cost. I wasn't able to find anything about how much Phillips signed for

Current Contract Jordan Phillips signed a 1 year, $1,790,000 contract with the New York Giants, including a $430,000 signing bonus, $430,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $1,790,000.

Yeah, someone had posted that. But how much extra did he get for showing up at the OTAs? Sorry, my mind is blown with this latest relevation.

I haven't seen anything related to a workout bonus in his contract.
