maybe Daniels never wanted to go to the Commies and used that as leverage to alter their pick. I think if they take Maye over him, Pats will snatch him up in a heartbeat. He's the guy I've heard they really like, and would probably not trade out of 3 if he's available. The intrigue continues...

As others have directly or indirectly stated, this shouldn’t alter the positional composition of the 1st three picks.
It should still be 3 QB off the board.
But if I use unsubstantiated media reports it could be Caleb, JJ, Daniels off the board if that JJ/Commanders thing is true.
So that leaves Maye available at 4. Or according to most mocks JJ available at 4.
I don’t know if you caught it but the Cardinals GM said he considers Arizona as having the 1st pick in the draft because the other teams above are basically set. And he expect a lot more than “fair trade” for his pick. Paraphrasing, it’s never a fair trade for the 1st pick in the draft. If he can’t get that level of value, he’s happy to make his pick.
That pick may not be as easy to trade for, and it was never going to be easy to trade for. If they REALLY love MHJ, the price may be stupidly high.

Who cares what they have to say? If you haven’t made it yet, you have no reason or right to say anything, especially about a team who hasn’t even drafted you yet. Oh how I loved the old days when they were grateful for getting the opportunity and just shut up and played. Yes….shut up and play. I’m not interested in your opinions. Shut up and play. I don’t care about your concerns, likes, or dislikes. Shut up and play. When you win something, then we will talk. But again….shut up and play.

This is a wild hair in the mix 1 week before the draft. Doesn't seem like things might start off on the right foot. LOL Washington does things so stupid that blow up in their face they make the Giant organization look like a well run franchise. I know you have seen many drafts but can you remember this kind of talk a week before draft day? This is so odd to me. This group interview blew up in their face. Daniels had assumed he was Washington's pick. This made Daniels feel they're not sure of him. Maybe Wash. is getting cold feet about Daniels or one of the others has support among their brain trust. They must have thought putting everyone together was a good idea to possibly compare them. Who knows.

Always need some drama before the draft. Best Tackle fell into the Giants lap at 13, a position of dire need, and they don't draft him, and for what? Cause he smoked some weed in college?.. only to then reach on a bum cb named Eli Apple and watch Miami draft Tunsil 3 picks later. Tunsil would go on to be a top 5 OT. Eli Apple would stink and be traded away less then 3 years later Giants just can't help themselves.. even when a player falls into their laps Nah man, you gotta remember that back then dudes were getting suspended multiple weeks and upwards of the entire season for testing positive for marijuana

I would handle it identically if you scout MHJ as high as everyone says, implying based on talent/probability of success he’s the BPA of the 24’ draft. If I’m Ari I’m not trading with Minnesota. I’m not passing up MHJ for a mid and late 1st rd pick. I want early 1st picks for my pick. Which means if the QB you love is available, you have a higher probability of getting the QB you want because the price you offer the Chargers can be an easy trade if they love Alt or a WR. If the Giants call you know it’s for a QB. Arizona’s stance makes the probability of a QB pick for us at 5 a lot more likely. Now it depends on who’s available.

John Elway did it as he dared the Colts to draft him.. Eli Manning told San Diego to go pound sand if they took him. So every twenty years a quarterback pulls this shit. As one player had baseball to fall back on.. The other was a Kennedy of the gridiron. Both players stood their ground and put their careers on the line.
When most would have just accepted their fate. Only difference is Jayden’s only fall back is the hard reality known as the floor. Washington who isn’t going to be held hostage by a player who has yet to complete a pass. Will draft whoever the hell they want.

It takes balls to make that move so maybe there is a different level of committment with these decisions. Some places just are not good places to work. I saw a stat the other day that Washington hasn't had a QB throw over 30 tds in a season since 1967. . Every other franchise was atleast in the late 2010's. It is where QBs go to die.

Sounds more like they're mad they weren't told the other guys were coming and WTF was playing some stupid social experiment. Daniels was doing Washington a favor by wasting his time and showing up, just to have a silly game played on him. He should've been told...it's that simple. Now, it sounds like WTF played right into his hands gave him ammo, and he has a week to try to get drafted by another team. Bob, I disagree. Bigger picture Bob. Why should he have he been told? Not everything in the NFL is going to be scripted for him. - Should he be aware of every question from a reporter? - Should the defense make him aware of every blitz? the kid gets a little curve ball and his response is (I don’t want to go there?). I would say Washington discovered more about him then he did about Washington. "If" he doesn't want to go there, I think it was determined before this happened...this is just the ammo needed to go public. If Washington really wanted him, at 2, and this ends up an Eli situation, who won here? I guess Washington doesn't have to tell him but seems pretty shitty to me. First, he's the guest of the team, not someone who signed up for a silly prank. He's making time out of his schedule, and doing WTF a favor by getting on a plane and giving up his time. Maybe he wanted a 1 on 1 with their GM/HC/OC, to ask questions about the organization or offense he'd be running? Maybe he's tired of the whole process and just wanted a quiet dinner/trip? Maybe he already had trepidations and this was the final straw. Maybe this is all nothing and he's on their roster next week? Hanging out with other QBs tells them how he handles blitzes? Maybe something happened in the past and he's not a fan of CW, Maye, or JJ? This kinda reminds me of my friend in HS. His family was very religious...and he got a full ride offer (late 80s), in baseball, from his dream school over the phone and accepted on the spot. Later, on his recruiting trip, he was taken to a strip club (he was 18, nothing illegal). It made him and his family mad and he decomitted. Never hurts to communicate... I'm not saying Washington can't play games with visits...but Danieks has every right to be upset and react the way he wants...and a reaction to a bad weekend has nothing to do with how he'll play in the NFL. Who knows, maybe he ends up a Giant now with a chip on his shoulder, about WTF. I'd take it!

Schoen should just invite all the NFL prospects to huge circle-jerks, see who isn't having the time off their lives, and take them off their draft boards! Genius!
