x.com/JimNagy_SB/status/1840716754114523614Spoke to four NFL execs past week and all said same thing about upcoming 2025 draft, there's an ๐ช๐ฃ๐ช๐จ๐ช๐๐ก๐ก๐ฎ ๐จ๐ข๐๐ก๐ก ๐ฃ๐ช๐ข๐๐๐ง of sure-fire first rounders this year. Amount of Round 1 grades in most drafts is in mid-teens & good drafts tend to have low-20's. Based on these convos, there's less than 10 consensus first-rounders right now at this point of fall scouting process.Hopefully a few of them are QBs...

Exciting - with few exceptions, the Giants are experts in selecting 3rd Round talent in Round 1 followed undrafted talent beyond.

Which is okโฆit is what it is.
There may not be a true stud QB in this next draft, but there will be some that could produce better than Jones for MUCH cheaper. Thatโs what youโre looking for.
If these QBs are somewhat average throwers, they MUST be able to use their legs. Then, reassess in 3 years and do it again.
Wait until you have a chance to land a really good QB, then go after him. Until then, get someone cheap that can make some throws and use their legs.

So what, that means the Giants can easily move up to get their new franchise QB!

Hard to tell so early in the football season who stands out. The guys they thought were going to be big this aren't stepping up. I am betting by the end of the season our draft section will be filled with guys posters want us to draft in the first round.

So weโre in excellent shape to land a legit 1st rounder.

Now go back to every other draft prior and find all the non 1st round graded players that turn out to be great "How did we miss this guy?!", cause there are a ton of them.

So weโre in excellent shape to land a legit 1st rounder. Based on Schoenโs history with first round picks I wouldnโt count on it. As of the way things stand today, heโs 1 of 4 IMO for players he picked where he did in the first round.

Brutal luck the Giants are would be buyers in a weak QB class. Just like 2019.

I still have alot of faith in banks for whatever reason A lot of people do and Iโm not giving up on him but obviously I have been more critical this year because I expected to see more improvement. I havenโt seen shit and Iโm honestly sick of hearing the excuses that he needs more help, heโs going against the leagues best receivers, in reference to giving up TDโs โit happensโ, his positioning is good butโฆ If he was drafted as a #1 he needs to start playing like one, which means he will be going against the leagues best WRโs every week, he shouldnโt be expected to get help every week and he shouldnโt be giving up 1-2 TDโs a game and/or an extraordinary amount of yards. Iโm sure heโll have some good games but hopefully theyโre not just against some of the worst teams in the league and I hope to see his progression trending up compared to last year, so far itโs actually been the same at best and arguably worse.

Agree, he has alot of stepping up to do. If you wanna be the guy you gotta beat the guy. That said, the good thing about him is that he seems like he has a high floor, heโs at worst a high end #2 corner, and those guys get paid alot, as opposed to a guy like Neal at the same point in their career, his floor was โout of the league in a few yearaโ โฆ Hereโs to hoping he makes that next step

Brutal luck the Giants are would be buyers in a weak QB class. Just like 2019. I find the short term memory of football fans amazing. Every year when the draft season rolls around they seem to forget everything that has happened before. This time last year people were talking about Jayden Daniels as a rnd 2 fallback option for the Giants at QB. I reminded people about this exact thing with Richardson the prior draft season and said Daniels would be a top ten pick by the time the draft rolled around. So people forget, like some type of collective amnesia that I cannot figure out. We see declarative absolute statements about players who have never played a down, despite decades of reality proving those statements are foolish to make. Someday, maybe I will understand this annual process of collective amnesia, but today isn't that day.

www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/_/year/2025/position/qbMaybe this year will be the outlier, but Iโm willing to bet folks will be singing a different tune by the end of the season. QBs seem to come out of nowhere almost every year. That said, thereโs always the free agent route. That list isnโt great but there are a couple names Iโd prefer over DJ.

I would rather just wait on quarterback for Arch Manning in 2026
I am confident the G-Men will have a top 3 pick yet again

October, fans: this is the worst QB draft class ever
January - April, same fans: Ive watched 192 hours of film and I have six QBs going in the top five. These are โcanโt missโ franchise QBs.
Every year.
Wash, rinse, repeat.

there will be 10 to 12 and the giants will get a shot at 1 the way the season is going wonder what it looks like after that where it really counts . think last years draft was light on top not as light as this but there was great value with 2nd row players there were guys with round 2 grades deep into the 3rd. I saw this report yesterday day we will see as it gets closer and how the value aligns with what the Giants need they need a QB 1st a DT / CB OL / RB.thats Thats can change after freeagency form what I have read after cuts Giants should have close to or above 70 mill to maybe sign a CB or DT or both or possibly get one of the 2nd chance kids Darnold / Willis / and draft the rest.

Every year. Wash, rinse, repeat. Last year in October I think it was still just Caleb and Drake with Daniels starting to creep up and Penix to. I don't care if it's 5 10 first round graded players as long as a few QBs at the end of the day their will be a free agent or 2 maybe Darnold and or Willis think Darnold is on a 1 year deal not sure about Willis.

On that list Darnold is the guy I like maybe Lance or fields they all can get teh ball down field but Darnold is showing with talent and protection he can play try a 3year deal with an out in year 3. Giants need a strong arm trigger man if not then go and get your guy from the daft. They might get one of the Flacco type who knows where he is going with it and won't be fooled much by anything.

Its up to the coaches to tap into their strengths and make them great QBs on the next level. I look at QBs like Jared Goff, Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold now, they all had the talents and were tossed aside by their first teams, even multiple teams for some. Then found the right system and coaches. Even Jalen Hurts Id add to that list. He was in the perfect place, otherwise, I think he bounces around the league as a QB like Mariota.

One interview with Jim Naggy a couple weeks ago point to DL interior all the way out as a strength in this class that does align with our issue with someone to play next to Dexter.
