How anyone can complain about us drafting Barkley is beyond me. This kid is unreal. Cornerstone of our offense for years to come.
As I type this, Eli throws it behind him for an INT. Unreal.
Because we are 1-7? What good are offensive weapons when they get pummeled behind the LOS and the team cant do a damn thing with the ball?
It's not a knock on his talent or personality. Those 2 spots he gets 10s. It's the teams makeup. We weren't in a position to draft a RB #2 over all, which is why we are 1-7.
Knowing it wasn't a 1 year turnaround, building around a player like Barkley makes nothing but sense. We would've been roughly 1-7 no matter who we drafted. This wasn't the year for us to be good. Honestly, if we're good before 2020 I'd be surprised.
The last drive was a good example. Our OL looked good (did Brown help?), and because of it everything else looked good. Continue to build the trenches, get a QB in the next couple years, and everything will fall into place.
It seems like people don't realize the Rams did something very similar drafting Darnold and Gurley before getting their QB.
How the heck is this guy booker even on the air???
I actually used to really like him on Mike and Mike when he would come on for a segment or two. He was pretty funny, always talked about food and had that "keep it simple" type attitude, which I like in football.
That said, he has not impressed me as a full-time commentator on MNF.
