Broomed the Tribe. Thor with a little extra Twitter love for Indians folks calling Mets a “fringe playoff” team. Why would that organization allow the people who run that stuff take cheap shots at the Mets anyway? Pretty classless. Whatevs, LGM!!!!!! A fringe playoff team that swept your team into the exact position you are in. One game out.

Still didnt change a thing. Thor is a great pitcher when healthy. No denying that. And Betts is a great hitter. There is no room for error though. The lineup only scored 2 runs. Its a reason why DeGrom has a 2.91 ERA and only 8 wins. I asked for your guys thoughts though, so you are giving them to me. Fair enough. Great pitcher > Great hitter . If they are equal sure. You think Thor is a top 3-4 pitcher in this league?

Great pitcher > Great hitter . If they are equal sure. You think Thor is a top 3-4 pitcher in this league? Pretty well reported that many feel the coaching staff has let him down. His stuff is good enough that he could certainly be one of the best 5 pitchers in the game.

I don’t know if they will pull this out, but they got a big inning from Diaz. It would be huge if he could come around. They are straight abusing Lugo right now.

I'm at an Embassy Suites watching a really nice game between the Mets and the Braves. There is a real buzz in that stadium.

Does anybody think it was B.S. making them come out after the 2 1/2 hour rain delay to continue the game knowing that you had maybe 20-30 minutes before there would be another long rain delay? We have a big series with the Braves who it seems like when we play in Atlanta there is always some type of umpire “strike zone” b.s. Also the thought of have to use Diaz made me have to stay up late. I’m going to “BUMP” my own prophetic comments about the umpires when we play the Braves. There were a lot of “fake strike” calls for the Braves pitchers all night.

deGrom has to supply his own offense, after all he only struck out like a dozen guys and gave up a run. The guy just has to pitch better.

Good thing you guys dont need a Mookie Betts in that lineup to help your rotation out... lol Sorry, couldnt resist. Degrom is a hell of a pitcher. He probably would win another Cy if he had offensive support to get him the Ws.

Alonzo breaks Mets single season Home run total with #41 as a rookie . The last player to break his team's home run record as a rookie was Ralph Kiner in 1936 ( pirates)
NL ROY?

Braves are a better team talent wise and fundamentally. There’s a reason they are losing to them regardless of how they are playing in general. It’s frustrating, but that’s the reality of it. Getting swept and 5 of 6 the last 2 weeks hurts the WC chances. It is what it is.

They can crush mediocre to decent pitching, but just flat out cant hit when a pitcher is rolling. And I think Atlanta in particular is in their heads. Also, I'm blaming it on the uniforms. WTF was MLB thinking? The whites looked like good-humor men, and you couldnt tell the blacks from the umps.

Well... IF that rotation stays healthy and can do what they are capable of, Degrom, Syn, Stroman, Wheeler, Matz is a hell of a rotation. If you bats get hot, you may have a shot being only 4.5 games out. Lots of teams in front of them though. 2 months left. Lot of ball left. They have to figure out Diaz though. Just going to bump this guy. I had faith for your boys. Good to see them playing well. I'm going to bump it right back. Obviously they are still not out of it, but as I said before, they cant beat good teams or hit good pitchers. Like flipping a switch, they go from hammering the ball to flailing at bad pitches. Before last nights Thor meltdown, in the previous 4 games they scored only 1 run in 3 of them. IMO, this is in their heads. And OMG, how is Frazier is still in the starting lineup? Instead of starting JD Davis at his natural position at third base and letting Legares, (who is hitting +300 over the past few weeks) play his natural position in center, he starts Frazier, who is hitting something like .150 since the All Star break. He plays Conforto in center, who missed making 2 big plays that Legares probably would have made that amounted to 3 runs last night. I defend Callaway when I think the criticism isnt justified, but this is just stupid. It's almost like he is trying to lose.

The Nats have us where they want us Down 7-1 headed into the bottom of the 6th
Instead of letting Wheeler go as far as he can guarenteed he gets pulled with gas in the tank and we bring out the guys carrying barrels of jet fuel to the mound with a fuel soaked infield and proceed to flick lighted blue tips all over the place

Unbelievable Notice when we would leave our starting pitchers in for 7 plus innings the Mets were nearly unbeatable? Now they are back to this shit ...

10-4 9th inning lead going into the bottom of the 9th & you lose 11-10! $%#@ like this is why I quit being a Mets fan back in 07-08'. Only the Mutts. Like I've said before, Mets/Jets, 2 cursed sports organizations.

I will say, I am absolutely shocked how poor Diaz has been for the Mets. He was dominant last year and is very young. My guess is the change in pitching coaches and maybe NY?
