10-4 9th inning lead going into the bottom of the 9th & you lose 11-10! $%#@ like this is why I quit being a Mets fan back in 07-08'. Only the Mutts. Like I've said before, Mets/Jets, 2 cursed sports organizations. Knicks. You forgot Knicks. Nice W for the Mets tonight. My bad, Jets/Mets/Knicks. Last time the Knicks were relevant was 99' imo. 20yrs ago! Good God! That's even worse than the Mutts/Jests!

Eh, they had a year or 2 with Melo and Stat. Playoffs and such. But yeah, worst run organization in all of sports the past 20 years. Mets made a couple of WS at least. And Jets a couple of AFC Champ games.

I will say, I am absolutely shocked how poor Diaz has been for the Mets. He was dominant last year and is very young. My guess is the change in pitching coaches and maybe NY? Also a new league? The guy is too young to give up on.

I bet he would have found his groove in Beantown.

Get the right coach to put him in the right spot. IT would be worth it for the Mets to reach out to the Mariners to figure it out.

Mets had 9 runs on 11 hits today And amazingly still not out of this thing. 2 back of Cubs and Brewers, even with Phils and 1/2 up on D backs. Alonso with the custom 9/11 cleats for the whole team tonight and a class rememberance before the game. Man it would be nice to finally get 1 quality outing from Stroman tomorrow in the early start.

Best starting pitching in the NL since the all star break 4 20 plus HR guys ... 75-70...
Why do I bring this up? They needlessly take Matz out after 6 innings only giving up 4 hits and no runs.

I really think it is changes to the ball and the NY market. He started off bad and now it's in his head. IMO, he needs an offseason to get his mojo back.

Yeah, but we have the Dodgers coming in. We get swept and we are back to 5 out. Not trying to be a downer, but we just cant beat good teams/pitching, and I believe we can when they finally show me they can do it.

We also have I’ll trot out Degrom; Noah and Wheeler for the series. We will see.

Seems to me right now this team is slightly better than most of the above average teams, the one thing holding them back is the wretched bullpen.
What do they have,40 blown leads after 7? Half of them are converted to wins and this team is in a different better place.

But if I were a betting man, I would bet the under on scoring 3 runs in the LA series.

Callaway blows my mind. Sits Pete against a lefty, pairs Noah with Ramos despite clear numbers discrepancy and gives lame and horrible excuses afterwards. When we are on the outside looking in we can squarely blame 2 things: The bullpen and Callaway.

There may be one or two real managers left in MLB but for the most part imo, these data new age entry guys like Callaway and Boone here in NY etc don’t make any real difference to the team’s outcomes.

I agree with you. However when a guy makes detrimental decisions like Callaway he negates the negation.

Half of them are converted to wins and this team is in a different better place. I think the Mets are the 2nd best team in the NL. Their owners need to dip into their pockets next year and give them the depth and bullpen they need to put them over the top. They need 2 more 7th, 8th inning types. With their starting pitching it really won't take that much. I wonder how much better off they would be had they signed Ottavinio or Britton instead of doing the Cano trade. I mean Bruce has been a more productive bat than Cano, and Diaz has been putrid. That Cubs series a few weeks ago might be the difference in their season. Had they just won 1 of those games

Congrats to Pete, new record for rookie HRs at 53. And to think there was serious talk about him not being brought up to start the season.
Great kid too.
