They've gone without their leader all season in Pedroia. Now their starting catcher is out 2 months. They have had a lot of injuries but they keep pounding.

I envy your ability to still enjoy it! I miss the days when I would root for the Yankees as hard and as loud as I root for my Giants. So much of the game, as played today, makes no sense (the afore mentioned “shift”).... and all the strategy has been eliminated..... what with bunts going the way of spittoons and designated innings for starters to come out and endless relievers coming....completely missing the point of why a Relief Pitcher used to be brought in in the first place! And if all that’s not bad enough....you’re a Red Sox fan? ? God....football can’t start soon enough for me! Don't hate me because I root for God's team..... God's team...hahaha

Anyone watch the All Star game last night?...I thought it was quite entertaining... I was impressed with Judge hitting a home run against Scherzer. Judge is awesome. I wouldn’t use the Scherzer metric to support that view because I think Scherzer gives up a lot of gopher balls. I’d be surprised in he wasn’t in or near the top ten in the NL in HRs against. Still, in this age of baseball I don’t think that’s all that unusual or concerning. It kinda just is what it is.

It is a different game. I also see a marked change in football as well over the past decades. I feel like football is quite different from what it was just 12 years ago. Just the way the players look even, I mean the newer helmets and face masks. All around it really is very different from when Eli was drafted which is really not long ago at all.

Baseball today is a joke. Jack "Black Jack" Morris stated he was so glad he pitched in the era he did, as did other players that were voted into the HOF this yr such as Jim Thome. Imagine Black Jack's reaction to a Manager coming out in the 5th inning telling him "OK, that's it, you reached your pitch count" while he's pitching a shutout with 10 Ks? This guy pitched a 10 inning CG SO in the 7th game of a WS! You'll never see that again in today's micromanaged "pitch count " era. You're lucky to see a pitcher pitch a complete game nowadays. How many games could DeGrom have won if he was allowed to go the distance instead of getting yanked in the 7th inning with a 3 run lead only to watch the putrid BP blow it again. The days of 300innings pitched, 300 KS, 20+ wins & 15-20 CGs are over. Yet I see all these pitchers getting signed to mega multi million $$ 10 yr deals. Pitchers that couldn't carry the jockstraps of Nolan Ryan, Tom Seaver & Jim Palmer to name a few. Hitters don't know how to bunt let alone pull off a drag bunt. Most can't bunt a player over from 1st or 2nd base either, pathetic.
