Okay, so when I first read the headline I thought it was typical NY media where they take someones words out of context, but this man really had the audacity to say that the NY GIANTS WERE HOLDING ELI APPLE BACK. The same guy that was given a clean slate to prove that he didn't regress during his sophomore year, mind you he played with Jackrabbit so he wasn't even facing the opposing team's #1 receiver and he still sucked. Yet this moron believes that now that he's with the Saints he's “around his folks so he can flourish”. Last I checked Michael Thomas had 4 catches for 47 yards and 0 tds so if were such a "Circus" why did he have no impact during our game when we played against him. Also someone should let this guy know that when the Saints were playing the Cowboys, Michael Gallop was burning Eli Apple almost on every play and had Dak Prescott not overthrown him a bunch of times in that game he should have had 200 yards and 2 tds. I honestly hope that the Saints get eliminated during the divisional round because the last thing we need is another arrogant WR that thinks just because he won a ring he can say whatever he wants. I was an actual fan of the guy, but lately he's been acting like a diva and to be honest with you the only reason he's good is because he's got Drew Brees, so he really shouldn't be running his mouth because we're going to find out soon just how good he really is with an average QB tossing him the ball. clutchpoints.com/saints-news-michael-thomas-glad-eli-apple-out-giants-circus/

To imply that Eli Apple's struggles were due to the organization couldn't be farther from the truth. Especially since he wasn't even covering the opposing teams #1. Those very same struggles continued even on the Saints and he's been burned this whole season. He picked off Cam Newton who is on a 6-game losing streak, big deal. The building was on fire the first half of the season, and it's now a tale of two tapes. Stop being a pessimist and giving excuses to ex-giants or other nfl players who are talking sh*t about this team.

yes, he has looked better. He had no enthusiasm to play his hardest for McAdoo, for whatever reason. I have said before, The games I saw him play live last year, he is the only NFL CB I have ever seen who stood in his zone, totally alone, if his man ran a pattern to the opposite side of the field. Eli would stop cold, like he ran into a wall, and let the zone be responsible for him, while he stood and watched. And, if there were a running play to the other half of the field he would similarly stand over in his little world and watch the play from afar... never once running for support in case the run broke down field. He is the only player I have ever seen in the NFL who did not run to help on a play. That's all heart/motivation/desire... and he had none of it. So, he goes to N.O. and has got to pick up his game because he wants to show his new mates, and the Giants, that he can still play... plus, get a nice pay check that he won't get if he flames out. As a first round pick he has a lot of talent and up side... but I don't want his caustic attitude and resultant lack of effort on our team

All we see is what happens on the field. Not saying this kid is right or wrong, as I said....I don't know.
But our anger should be tempered a bit. We've become a pretty bad team over the last 6 years. At least that one fact seems to be consistent with these claims.

Don't understand some people on this forum, we traded Apple and Snacks, and if either one of them has one above-average game, they start talking about how this organization got the terrible end of the deal and how we look like a bunch of suckers. Even though some of these people were the same ones that were bashing both of those players on how they both looked terrible. Yet, were the first ones to be outraged because DG traded them. Guess, they don't understand that they can't have it both ways.

I give the guys credit who can play just as hard in a meaningless game when their team is 1-8 as they do as if it's the Super Bowl. Personally I don't think I could, I can't stand losing and would be miserable having been playing for the Giants the past 7 years.

Reese lost the day he drafted him and no matter what he does in N.O. now it's a big L for the Giants.

Michael Thomas needs to get his news from a trust worthy source...The Giants were a circus last year under McAdoo....Coach Shurmur has not lost the locker room and has the team pointed in the right direction towards building a winning culture...

Personally I don't think I could, I can't stand losing and would be miserable having been playing for the Giants the past 7 years. Do you remember the psychiatrist on The Natural... "Losing is a disease." One of the things that kept the Giant fans sane and devoted in the dismal 70's was that we had 22 guys who gave excellent effort, even when they were 1-8, or thereabouts. The defense was always in the upper half of the league. The offense was horrible, but it was mainly because the OLine was always underweight and overmatched and we had bottom half of the league QB play. But, you could see OLinemen like J.T. Turner giving 100% effort. When you're 1-8 you collect the same check as when you are 8-1. There is no pay scale based on record. So, I respect men that bust their butt, even on a losing team. Last year was a disaster of too many not playing very hard, and Eli Apple was the worst. A good reason to get him out of town was because he also had little respect from his peers... so, a fresh start was a win-win situation, for us and him. Meanwhile, a good friend of mine is a Saints fan and he said last week on national TV was Eli's best game all year, and that he has been roundly booed in NO in many games for getting torched too often.

From what I remember Apple had lots of trouble playing man coverage. But I think it was a cheap shot by Michael Thomas. I hope the Saints go down in the playoffs.

I do remember him running around in circles out there. I for one am glad he's gone. Never liked the pick in the first place.

not hard to be a "good CB" on a team that scores 30+points per game... he just has to be an OK player which is all he really is overall so far in his short career

It's really the opposite. He's a press cover corner. He struggles more in zone. If he takes the coaching and demonstrates the initiative to improve his game he could be a very good player. He didn't do that with the Giants. Maybe he will with the Saints.

And the circus keeps moving on... Eli Manning named starter in week 17, an absolutely meaningless, pointless game. We are 5-10, like we were 3-12 at this point last year, and we still have no idea what the QB position holds for us in the future past Eli Manning. We refuse to move on. Its mind bending how mismanaged this organization has become.
Oh well. I guess by now we are all used to being the losers. The Clowns of the NFL.
But hey maybe Eli can beat Dallas as they put their backups in the game to prove to us that Eli will be dominant in 2019.

It is hilarious how players on other teams past a present reference the Giants and their players. We are a 3- 13 team last year and a 5 win team this year. We should be snot on the sidewalk to them . But no the Giants sit readily in their thoughts, Why? I will tell you why . The Giants on any give season can be the party ruiner . We did it in 90 , 07 , 11 . They all know it will be coming again,. So we rent space in the rest of the NFL's head. Love these kind of Articles. It makes me glad I am a giants fan.

Can I ask specifically what makes us a circus? Some guy that knows nothing about the team said so because his new friend came from here and told him that. So, pretty much a unchallengeable fact.
