Let's see him against a tough defense Already seeing Washington throw a wrinkle in playing zone and making Haskins read the defense, He didnt take off after the first read wasnt there and took the sack. This will be a huge test for how he can read a defense and test his patience.

Rough start but that was an NFL level TD pass the way he looked the safety off the way he did to basicly look open that TE.

That was advanced level there. Not having the best start otherwise as ,and really strange saying this about Ohio state, but Washington is actually trying to force them to beat them on tbe ground and most of Ohio States yards are on the ground. Also shows he is not a running qb liks I've seen people say,as a true running qb would not have butchered that read option that way. This is perfect for him, started off rough against a defense showing things he hasn't seen(recievers not running wide open all over tbe place)and getting some pressure. If he is indeed legit, let's see how he handles this.

And Ohio state is running a modified run and shoot offense(their OC played under Gilbride somewhere I think and changed tbs offense to fit Haskins skill sets)

Deadly accurate and patient in the pocket reading the defense. Still wish we can see him deal.with a bigtime pass rush, probably wont see it in this game

Deadly accurate and patient in the pocket reading the defense. Still wish we can see him deal.with a bigtime pass rush, probably wont see it in this game He has shown good pocket presence. Goes to the right place with the ball. Just that one deep underthrow so far. Considering the defense he's playing he's looking like a prospect. When you see how much Washington's Browning has to put into his throws you notice how effortlessly he zips it out.

He looks like a pro qb,really impressed by his poise and the cerebral aspect of his game.
Really wish Ohio State got in the tournament, play a top defense like Alabama or Clemson

Uhh before anyone anoints him as the next Dan Marino, Haskins is playing behind an offensive line that has to be top 3 in FBS. No one is coming even close. Leaving him all day to make throws. That will not be the case at the next level especially if he goes top 5 and one of the desperadoes makes a play. Those teams will not have a good OL. He'll be on the run at that time. Throws a really nice ball but Ohio State is manhandling Washington at the lines and giving Haskins almost 10 secs (my count) per drop back

He has developed into a good QB without a lot of experience and still has a lot of upside. I think that his draft position may depend a lot on how he does on the board at the combine and in team meetings

The next game ( Sugar Bowl ) should have been Ohio State VS Georgia. That would have our eyes glued to the screen. I don't care about conference. Texas should be playing Washington.

For evaluation purposes the worst thing that happened to him was Ohio state not getting into the Tournament,as Alabama would have been a legit test with their defense. As of now I'm still against any qb at 6 still.

Got to say im impressed. He does have loads of time and his WRs are wide open, but still looks good. Still dont think he is worth the #6 pick however. Hope Denver does and wants to trade to 6 from 10 to get him.

Not exactly looking good at the end of this game when Washington turning up the heat, possible glimpse into Haskins not seeing this kind of pressure, looks very shaky right now

Why would Washington punt there? The game is on the line! 4th and 3! Go for it!

Now I doubt we can get a 2020 1st round pick that would be useful for chips to trade up,but we could get their 2nd and 4th this year to build more of the team this year,so if we have to make a major mortgage type trade up(think an RG lll type deal)most of the team hypothetically could be here in the interm.

Oh.. lets see.. various posters, Todd Mcshay lol
He is still not franchise materiel despite the stellar play in the first half and his great season. If you notice when Washington discovered a pass rush his effectiveness went south and became a very average qb..He is also NOT very mobile (with pressure) and the NFL trend is now with mobile qbs..
Let the true experts hash it out in the off season..

I agree he will not have all day in the NFL to find his recievers . 2.5 seconds or less on most plays.

I actually have Jones as my top Qb whether Haskins comes out or not. Jones just looks to me the most NFL ready, albeit he also needs work.

Dolphins too The question is,how many of these GMs are willing to wait till 2020? IMO: Not many. Most do not have the resolve to wait for the right QB Which is why the same teams have a constant high turnover rate at GM and below and always in rebuild mode. Having the qb brain trust between Shula and Shurmer and probably having a huge say in the qb evaluation will help.
