I’m not a Mets fan, but I am a Knicks fan, so I know what it feels like to have a shitty owner who doesn’t have a ****ing clue. You have Wilpon, and we have guitar Jimmy!!! Never gonna win shit again until they’re gone......and they aren’t going anywhere!

Mets lose 25-4. Mats lasted 2 outs and gave up 7 runs. Reyes pitched. Here is twitter:
Mike Puma" "Should be noted that Jose Reyes says he is not available to pitch tomorrow. So there's that going for the Mets right now."

In that choice first inning of course Matz also felt Elbow discomfort. It's a good thing we held on to Matz and Wheeler at the deadline. Worst owners in baseball.

I went to the game on Saturday night to get the Thor bobblehead. Worked out well. Bought 2 field level tickets in the Metrolpolitan Gold section for $15 each, sold one of the bobbleheads for $50, and the Mets actually won the game 3-0. So the wife and I had a free night out, and I still got a free bobblehead.

On the long and distinguished list of Mets signing, Jason Vargas is really working hard to get near the top of it. I mean it's hard to get beyond some historical moves like Bobby Bonilla or trading Lenny Dykstra for Juan Samuel, but man Vargas really sucks some major ass.

At least Vargas was coming off an all-star year. Just the usual Mets luck he stinks this year.
The best question is why is Jose Reyes still on this team? He sucks on O and D equally and would not be on any other MLB roster. There were rumors on a west-coast road tip that they were going to release him but "didnt want to do it that way" with him. Now back home he is still taking a spot on the roster.
Is there really no one in the minors that might benefit from playing in his spot?

I keep hoping for deGrom. Well, today he actually got a W. he is now 6-7 with a MLB leading 1.77 era. If he were on the Yankees or Red Sox he'd be like 15-2.
Sorry I haven't been around this year, but it's been too awful to tolerate. This has been my team since 1962, and these past two years have two of the biggest downers in their history with all of the pitching we were supposed to have.

Zack Wheeler really has been nothing short of amazing. Some cool things happening if you're checking in from time to time. DeGrom has a great shot at the Cy Young, Wheeler's vast improvement, and a lot of the kids on O have been showing out(McNeill, Rosario, Conforto, Nimmo). A lost season sure, but not all is lost.
(EDIT: Of course they ended up blowing last night's game in ridiculous fashion, but hey it's the Mets. )

The Mets could have their best SP in team history in 2019, and still not win 85 games beacuse of their bullpen and lineup.

How's a 6-7 pitcher a top candidate for a Cy Young? Just cuz of his 1.77 ERA? Wow, the standard for winning a Cy Young sure has dropped since I used to watch the game back in 08". 20 wins was usually the main way of getting a Cy Young. But with all the babying of over priced pitchers with pitch counts & mentally prepping them to just pitch 5-6 innings, pitching in MLB has become a joke. Nolan Ryan, Tom Seaver, Jim Carlton, Jim Palmer must cring at the joke that starting pitching has become nowadays.

I think you meant Steve Carlton and don't forget Bob Gibson...these guys are known as power pitchers, the majority of the force that came behind their pitches were derived from their lower bodies...

Dammit, my bad! Thanks for the correction on Carlton. I'll take a young Dwight Gooden over any pitcher on the Mets roster including DeGrom. I'm sorry, the game of baseball has become a shit show IMO. Pitchers that can't go 9+ innings is a joke. How many games would DeGrom have won this yr if the pansy assed manager let him go all the way? Someone plz tell me how many games has the BP blown for him this yr? How many times this this lineup fail to get him 3 or more runs?

Yes I would take Doc in his prime over any of these pictures today...too bad his addiction shortened a career which most likely would have ended in Cooperstown...These pitchers today can't compare to the pitchers of old because they are babied too much but with that being said I think deGrom is the best we have right now...

Yes... good luck David. Maybe a Mets coach down the line. I was pleased the guys didn't pack it in. They have been very competitive these past 40 games. Bruce is decent... McNeal is a nice young guy moving up. Conforto has swung the bat well... and deGrom is deservedly in the Cy Young mix with a 9-9 record. Wheeler has been excellent, and even Vargas has improved. Where the hell is Cespedes?... what a joke. And would we be in the mix if he, Bruce, and Conforto had stayed healthy and swung the bats decently? Of course, being a Mets fan since their day 1, I won't even begin to hope and project for next year.

Jake...8 innings , 10 strike outs, 2 hits, finishes with 10 wins and an ERA of 1.7...he should be a lock for the Cy Young, no?

I don’t know about a lock but a pretty good shot at it. I’d give it to him despite the win total.
