He only hjad 4 years of over 40 receptions... 224 catches in his 7 years with 4 good years and 3 years with 4, 10, and 26 receptions. Plus, the Giants never had a winning team in his 7 years. I was at the game(old Yankee Stadium) where Homer Jones was suppose to race Bob Hayes at halftime but the Giants used him to much and it was canceled. Haha...somewhere in the way back mind, I recall that!

So, who is the all time NYG scoring leader? I didn't know this off the top of my head but it made sense once I heard it.

I'll check, but I don't think he played that many games. Del Shofner scored a lot, but didn'r have a career as long as Toomer. Then there was Tiki. When Rosas kicked the 57 yarder the other day I thought sure they'd mention the Giant FG distance record, but they didn't. I tried to look it up but couldn't find it. Do you know? I guess I should officially ask that.

What is the FG distance record on the Giants.... I assume it is more than Rosas 57 yarder the other day, or surely they would have mentioned that.

Yes, that one still hurts. I was telling my son about him today since his memories of Giants QBs begin with Kerry Collins. So, do you recall when he was drafted? Fairly unusual circumstances if you don't recall.

Didn’t we get him in the supplemental draft ? Yeah, 1st Rnd Supplemental, 1992. What a poor pick. I'm going to amend this. From normal evaluations Dave might have been a projected 1st rounder that would have been in the same group of QB's we had last year. He was tall and threw a nice, strong ball. Being from Duke you had to figure he had a decent brain. Problem? Like every other prospect for the NFL, you just never know if they can thrive at the top. Certainly, dozens of "Can't miss" prospects have failed... Ryan Leaf. Then you have Brady. Who knew? No one, or he would have been taken before the 6th round. Dave certainly wasn't bad... but he was not Simms, and that was part of his problem... people, like me, didn't want him to signal the end of Phil... and perhaps that iunhappiness translated into a cloudy opinion of Dave,

Dec 28-29 1985 Jets and Giants play the first playoff games in the Stadium for each team. December 28–29, 1985: Giants Stadium makes history by playing host to multiple playoff games in the same weekend. The Jets host the first playoff game in stadium history, as well as their first since hosting the Buffalo Bills in 1981 at Shea Stadium, on December 28, losing to the eventual AFC champion New England Patriots 26–14 in the AFC Wild Card Game. The next day the Giants, who are playing their first playoff game at home since they lost the 1962 NFL Championship Game at Yankee Stadium, defeat the defending Super Bowl champion San Francisco 49ers 17–3 in the NFC Wild Card Game.[32][33] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giants_Stadium#Notable_momentsGood job Red...kind of
