Arguably the best QB of all time, best HC of all time and a highly respected owner (not sure why though). Its hard for me to take out Miami with them doing what they did in the 90s. They were a football factory. Pittsburgh was also in the mix to be honest.

I hate to say it but I don't see the Giants there at all. The Packers obviously need to be there.....and probably the Bears. Both before the Giants. Even the Raiders should go before us,
I would say.. Cowboys Steelers Raiders Bears Pats

The Pats only became relevant this century. I gotta put the packers in over them.

Bears Packers are good choices. And Raiders. Giants ARE an iconic franchise though no matter how bad they are at times. The Duke for crying out loud. 80s with the seed of todays great coaching trees. Parcels, Belichicks, Coughlin ect. Plus you know anytime the Giants are playing they are one of the top viewed teams in all the NFL and have one of the largest fanbases. That part of it. Cowboys Giants are the NFLs first choice due to that IMO.

One can argue the 5th spot. The Pats are a one coach/one QB wonder. I guess I would choose the Bears because of their history. If you go by who has the most fans spread over the country, you might add the Dolphins.

That was just part of it, but the Dolphins? Really? All they were was Dan Marino and a perfect season. They aren't in my top 15. No Florida team is. Dolphins are the Bills are the Jets IMO. All close rankings in this and same teams. To me, Bears are a notch above the Chiefs or Broncos, and a notch below Giants Raiders and Packers.

Well when you mention "iconic", that is a different standard then just who's a winning franchise. There are Dolphins fans everywhere. I would think one of the characteristics of an iconic franchise is one that is identifiable across the country.
And I just don't see the Giants in that category. We love them because we're Giants fans but I wouldn't consider them an iconic franchise.
As a matter of fact, my top 4, (Cowboys, Raiders, Steelers and Packers) are really the only 4 in the NFL I would consider as "iconic".

The Giants arent identifiable across the country? IF you go to a Giants Dolphins game in Miami, almost half the stadium is Giants fans. And Ive been to Tampa where its the same. Jacksonville its the same. Giants are much more iconic than the Dolphins IMO. Not even close really IMO. I live in Florida, and honestly, I dont see a lot of their fans on Sundays at bars. Not as much as I see the other teams I mentioned and especially not Giants fans where any bar you go to they are well represented.

That's different than native Floridians donning Giants hats because they love the idea of the New York Giants.

You I know a ton of Giants fans who never been to NY down here. And the new generation, the Eli and Odell and now SQB fans. For the old school, the Bavaro and LT fans. I think you are underestimating the Giants fanbase, especially the "non NY" crowd. Hell, you are a Massachusetts Giants fan. Its certainly not as big as the Cowboys or Steelers (or now Patriots), but its a huge fan base that is everywhere, not just Florida games either.

Yeah, I can flip the Phils for the Cardinals. The fastest team to 10,000 losses..took 97 years to win first WS title then another 28 years to make it 2 (as comparison it took the NYM 7 years to get their first title and the Marlins 5). When the Athletics left town many fans said that the wrong team moved...
How about historical racism (along with with that other bastion of tolerance - Boston)? These cities are also ones that pride themselves on being 'liberal' - ha ha ha ha ha ha ha - what a joke..
My Iconic Baseball Teams;
Yankees Dodgers Giants Cardinals Braves

Thought about the Braves and Giants. They are up there for sure. Not taking Boston off the list no matter how arrogant and cocky and ignorant Morehead is at times. They are an iconic team. Babe started there. HOFers left and right. Big time games, big wins, and a long storied history. And you know you wish the Yankees kept old YS and revamped it instead of building this new cathedral. Its a sweet museum, but its not as great a baseball park. Fenway still has that old feel.

White Sox Reds Browns/Orioles

I disagree. Even when Boston was losing for 80 years or so, they were still coined the "Lovable losers" much like the Cubs. Teams that can be branded that are pretty iconic IMO. Babe Ruth (GOAT), Ted Williams (Arguably greatest hitter ever and still last to hit .400), Carl Yaz, The Rocket, Pedro, Free Pass Roidtiz and the love he gets...

If you re going to lose you have to do it the right way.. The Sillies took losing to an art form..Los Metsos circa 1962 - 1965 were hall of fame losers and don't forget those Washington Senators..
Babe Ruth, man....do you know that ppl from Boston are prohibited from entering the country of Japan ..If they want to get in they have to pretend they're Norwegian..
Williams great hitter but you have Nap Lajoie, Shoeless Joe and Honus Wagner too ..Clemens won't make it to the Hall.. ..
