He is behind Andrew Luck, Jacoby Brissett and another QB. He's the 4th string QB playing for his Uncle Jims former backup QB.
I'm really pulling for this kid to live up to his potential because I watched him at Ole Miss and he was a great QB. Look how his WR's have done since he's no longer passing to them. He made laquan Treadwell a better player than he actually was and helped out Engram.
I still think he will be leading a team one day soon if he gets his meathead right.

Why would they sign Kaepernick to battle for 3rd or 4th string? First off, I doubt he'd want to do that and secondly it opens the door to some brainless bleeding heart either taking offense on his behalf "how dare they only offer him an opportunity to battle for a backup job, he should be starting!" or being outraged and crying racism when he doesn't make the roster. Neither of these options addresses the real issue, which in this case is not racism. The problem for Kaepernick is the league has seen him, they're fully aware that he's not a NFL QB. Most of his supporters don't know the game well enough to understand that so they figure it must be a more sinister albeit incorrect reason. |

The Ravens essentially invited him to beat them with his arm in that game. He's not a good enough QB to do that. Had they left him free to run, the game may have turned out differently. Of course the same could be said if they had started a RB in his spot. But it's racism clearly, that's why including Geno Smith in the list of QBs he has had better games than makes such a compelling argument for racism. |

Players over-estimate their worth to a team. Most NFL players are easily replaced.
Teams will put up with more BS if the player is fantastic but even with players like this there are limits.
Kaepernick thinks he's one of the best he's only decent to middling.

His girlfriend messed up his mind from what I've heard. She screwed him up.
