rookie kyle lauletta is taking 2nd string reps at QB...has he apparently replaced davis webb as the number 2 QB already? its welcome news to see the new regime appear to be letting the best players win their spots rather than politics and draft status etc. of course everythign can change after the next preseason game.... but still nice to see them apprently have to earn it
update; or not>>>>

Josey jewel LB i watched the game i thought josey jewel looked great out there. much better than i thought he would look. the announcers said the team thought he could be a 3 down LB. i had concerns about him not being a =sideline to sideline guy and not being able to cover in the NFl. appears i amy have been wrong. maybe the dude could be a real steal for them in round 4. "Later in the second quarter, Harris and rookie inside linebacker Josey Jewell got outstanding penetration again, taking advantage of DeMarcus Walker's ability to draw a double-team. The 3-yard loss forced the Vikings into third-and-13 from their 8-yard line, from which they couldn't recover, leading to a punt that gave Denver's offense an extra possession before the end of the first half." www.denverbroncos.com/news/broncos-vikings-observationswho wants to trade kyle lauletta for josey jewel?

grades for every first round pick after preseason opener>>>> ftw.usatoday.com/2018/08/nfl-preseason-2018-rookies-highlights-grades-baker-mayfield-sam-darnold-josh-rosensam darnold frank raginow dj moore & mike hughes all got an A from the author. barkely got an A- from the author the worsts grades the author gave were a D+ and a C- >>>> 2 8. Terrell Edmunds, S — Pittsburgh Steelers
GRADE: D+
Outside of one impressive run stuff near the line of scrimmage, Edmunds didn’t play particularly well, especially in the passing game where he looked lost at times. That won’t come as a shock to the many draft analysts who viewed him as a reach at the 28th pick.
19. Leighton Vander Esch, LB — Dallas Cowboys
GRADE: C-
Vander Esch ran with the second team and struggled to make an impact outside of getting in on a few gang tackles and nearly intercepting a ball that would have been negated by a holding penalty anyway. He had a rough time getting off of blocks throughout the night.

well we won't get to see them match up this year as Guise tore his ACL vs NE and is out for the year Another RB many considered very good was Rashad Penney selected by Seattle. He will miss the remaining pre Season games after breaking a finger and had surgery. They say he could miss some regular season games as well So throw in Barkley's hamstring and that's 3 of the top 6/7 RBs already with injury issues and we have not made it to week two of pre Season. The others I believe we're Sony Michel of NE, Nick Chubb of Browns and Kerryon Johnson of Lions Goes to show you why some of the people saying you don't take a RB with a high draft pick may have caused point

Miami Dolphins: Jerome Baker Showing Signs of a Starting-Caliber Linebacker 19 OF 32 Mark Brown/Getty Images Miami Dolphins rookie third-round linebacker Jerome Baker made immediate strides once players put on pads. He logged five tackles and one tackle for a loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1 of the preseason. During practice, the coaching staff subbed him into the starting lineup for Stephone Anthony, per the Miami Herald's Barry Jackson. Baker lined up on the strong and weak side of the formation, which indicates the team will test his versatility and his run-stopping ability on the second level. The Ohio State product brings quickness to a linebacker corps that allowed 8.1 catches for 60 yards per game to tight ends last season, per Football Outsiders. At 6'2", 215 pounds, Baker has showcased his ability to track ball-carriers and receivers in game situations. If he shows enough on third downs, the former Buckeye would likely become a solid addition to the nickel defense in an expanded role. bleacherreport.com/articles/2791051-one-thing-weve-learned-about-each-nfl-team-during-training-camp#slide23

I am surprised a bit by all the rest fo the names i know pff is kinda meaningless and its way too early to mean anything but its fun to take a gander anyway
