I think we should definitely continue to analyze every single move DJ makes with intense scrutiny. Because it's not insane or anything. This thread will be 9 pages....minimum.

love the gunslinger mentality....that will be a lot of fun to watch if he sticks with it going forward...hopefully he has that Favre mental makeup Isn’t the gunslinger mentality what got Eli in a lot of trouble? It certainly would explain some of the boneheadness lol. Gunslingers are a lot of fun to watch I agree but living the the sword you die by it. Some of the same peeps that used to complain about him being a gunslinger now complain about playing it too safe.

Drove us crazy during the regular season, but he won when it counted. I'd love to have gunslinger Eli back.

However dandy don said said above you the people that complained that he was too careless with the ball shouldn’t be complaining now that he is to safe

I know it was pre-season, and maybe they wanted to test some esoteric part of the O, but that third offensive call of the last game just pissed me off. 3rd and 8 and a draw play, after getting zero yards running the play before. I get pre-season experiments, but that was the dumbest call possible. It's your first 3rd down in a new season, throw the f&*%ing thing downfield. Dont dare, dont win. JMO.

Ok, just asking .................Daryl. And since none of us has access to the old boards kind of hard to prove would you agree? I seriously doubt there's been no criticism of a perfectly thrown Eli ball...c'mon man. Let me put this to bed.....
There's only been ONE perfect pass ever thrown by Eli and no one could criticize it because it netted him his second Super Bowl MVP award.

In terms of him staring down the WR. He had 2 options on that side of the field with the TE being the other. He was identifying how the CB was gonna play coverage. Once the CB stopped to pick up the TE it gave one on one coverage to Fowler and the safety. It was clear that Fowler had a step on the safety with cushion for Jones to put it on the outside where the Saftey didn’t have to positioning to cover and where the CB couldn’t recover to in time..
The coverage gave him everything was was looking for which is why he didn’t have to go through other progressions. If the CB drops back deeper in coverage to blanket Fowler. Then he has the TE wide open under Fowler.
If Fowler couldn’t beat the saftey and the CB blanketed the TE making no one open on that side of the field. THEN he would have been forced to go to other progressions.

I noticed that the laces seemed to be spinning in a clockwise motion, rather than counter clockwise so as to match the rotation of the earth. In my opinion, this could potentially develop into a major issue.

Jones could have took off running on the left side of the field, if he didn't want to put NFL scouts on notice with his arm . He has that ability as well. whoa, using my gif without expressed written authorized permission?

Nah.....he should have checked down and gotten us in field goal range like his predecessor. It is the modern world. He didn't even look at the other kids on the field. That's not fair, they might feel bad about themselves. I think everyone should get credit for a TD on that play. It's only fair. Absolutely, really they all should get big trophies to take home as well.

he executed the play exactly the way they teach it. He was reading the corner What the corner did determined where he goes with the ball Nah.....he should have checked down and gotten us in field goal range like his predecessor. Actually, the correct call here was a shotgun draw. I guess Eli has not taught him all the tricks yet.

The kid's debut with a lot of pressure on him to perform and he rolls the offense down the field and scores seemed effortless and exciting to me.
Talent, Confidence and Accuracy come to mind... I hope he never has to leave the pocket to run either.
Sure he can work on the progression and check down etc.
For now, I just want to see him play again.
