I could see that as our week 1 starters. Unless someone just jumps off the field during preseason.

Halapio is ahead of Jones. This guy hasn't even started one game at center. Is anyone actually convinced he is better Jones? Any additional input from besides Shurmur's communication comment in the 7/31/18 article.

Jones got his shot and I thought he did well, I'm not a huge PFF guy but he rated about average in the league, which is really good since he was essentially a rookie. He better be a hidden diamond if he immediately took over the job from someone who was doing pretty well....

If you follow the depth chart literally, with one stroke of bad luck to Solder the OTs likely become Erik Flowers and Nick Becton or they could go back to the Flowers/Wheeler combo...yikes.

How can it be unofficial if the team released it?

Perhaps because; The team is not down to the final 53 .

Officially, it is unofficial. That should clear up any confusion.

Officially, it is unofficial. That should clear up any confusion. Are you sure it's not unofficially official? I'm 100% sure... you are confused. Check the official unofficial depth chart, if you are unsure. Colorful descriptions, notwithstanding, although it is unofficially official. Let's ask an official if he can officially verify what is the official way to describe the unofficially official, unofficial depth chart. Now we should be clear.

they have been battling in training camp. Maybe, just maybe, the coaches know what they have in Jones and want to see Halapio with the starters??

SHOCKER. Footsy not a STARTER? Reese not handing the KEYS to a GUY who cant tackle? NO more. Gettleman/Shurmur GOT this right. The Giants FINALLY see what I've been SAYING. Halapio over Jones is a surprise. Riley over Footsy is a no-brainer.

Our OT depth is terrifying Well being that we are 2nd in line on the waiver behind Cleveland the Giants should be able to pick up 1 or 2 decent depth players. There's always surprise cuts to get to 53 and under the cap. Will just have to hope some of the people getting released are better then what we already have for Depth

FOOTSIE will be on the field a bunch whether he is listed as starter or not according that article>>>> Darian Thompson is the backup free safety It isn’t much of a surprise that Curtis Riley is listed as the starting free safety. The Giants seem to want a player with a cornerback’s skillset for the position. The battle between Riley and Thompson, however, appears fairly close. Thompson took most of the snaps with the first team while Riley was dealing with a hamstring injury. The two even split starters reps with Riley back on the field Monday. Expect to see plenty of both players as Bettcher mixes and matches subpackages. www.bigblueview.com/2018/8/6/17658450/2018-ny-giants-training-camp-unofficial-depth-chart-news-rumors-preseason

Why is that? He was not working with the first team Line when I was at camp last Thursday.

That Giants RFA and tendered Jones to probe for picks . Not because the wanted him as their starting Center I hoped that I was wrong. No GMs took the bait. Him taking a very small amount of reps with the first team is starting to support that. He is still one of the best backup Centers in the league.
