thats what happens when all 4 lines can show signs they actually can block, I imagine what our backups were when the starters were Flowers Pugh Richberg Jerry and Hart wouldn't want to be the second and third QBs back then in preseason.

My take on this is that if the running game is good, Eli will be good. No different than Eli in 2007 or Eli in 2011. No running game and it'll be a disaster.
I think questioning Jones arm strength can finally be put to rest. He threw a 44 yard dime to Lattimer. He has plenty of zip on the ball and plenty of accuracy to hit the sticks in the back of the end zone. He looks every bit the first round qb Haskins or Murray is.
Speaking of arm strength, even Eli had some more zip on his intermediate routes.
Defense still a major WIP. Nothing good to say about the starters tonight.

I'm one of the toughest critics of this team. Not sold yet, but I like how the guys are playing hard and they look like a TEAM. Maybe it's the alcohol talking, but I'm proud of the guys.

Maybe they will keep Lauletta and jettison Tanney--would save them money. Lets face it, NYG is in good hands with Eli and DJ for 2019. Anyone else feel something different with this years team. Sure, some sloppy pre season football at times, but they seem cohesive and like they actually like each other. There is definitely energy on the field and the sideline that was lacking in recent seasons. They look disciplined (even for preseason) and are actually executing at a good level for this time of year.... That to me is coaching this is the first time the coach is the boss and respected in the locker room in years. Guys are on board, the coach and front office showed it doesn't matter who you are if your not on board you will be gone.

In just 2 games this team looks about as good all around as it has in awhile. Lots of room for improvment, but I've liked what I've seen from them for the most part. A lot better than some of the horrific preseason teams of the past.

Well, the defense is still scary, but the offense seems to be coming along.. we'll have a much better look at what we'll be fielding against the Cowboys after next week's game.

And that was because teams overcompensated trying to take away our passing game We were facing 5 and 6 in the box ....

Looks like we might have a promising team this season since we went out and got an O line but could we get a OC who can come up with better plays in the red zone than straight dive plays that show the IQ of a knucklehead. God his play calling his atrocious.

He stood in tough that season(the NFC Championship game is his signature game IMO). He got demolished after that and began flinching and protecting himself. Hard to say if that can be completely cured, but most definitely Eli loves play action shots off an effective running game. You guys are both correct.

I like how he was talking to Eli. Made me feel like was a Giant, Eli generally enjoyed talking to him. You could see it on his face.

having Eli play vs the 2's when normally he sits this game I think was to prop Eli up and get the start jones crowd to quiet down . They know what Eli is they dont need to see him 1 or 2 more series.

Shurmur is a real good offensive mind and a good teacher think they will be OK as they go the defense will grow this team will grow and get better as the year goes on.
