Odell Beckham Jr. wants to be a Cleveland Brown. At least according to Jarvis Landry. Landry, Beckham’s former roommate at LSU, told reporters in Cleveland that Beckham has told him he wants to play for the Browns. And Landry is being proactive about ensuring his friend sees his alleged dream come true: Landry said he’s lobbying the team for a Beckham trade. “[Beckham and I have] had talks,” Landry said, according to Cleveland.com, “but at the end of the day, I want him to be happy. I want him to get what he deserves and you can’t put nothing on that regardless of where it’s at.” The Giants have yet to hand Beckham a contract extension, though his agent was at camp last week. He left camp without a deal being struck. Former LSU position coach Adam Henry is now the receivers coach for the Browns, and Beckham reportedly worked out with Landry and Tyrod Taylor, among other Browns players, at USC over the summer. Still, it’s hard to see Beckham, who seems to relish the spotlight of New York, playing in Cleveland. Especially because the Giants are prepared to make him the highest-paid receiver in football. The Browns traded receiver former first-round pick Corey Coleman to Buffalo on Sunday, and Landry has been energized by the possibilities. “If things like that are able to happen and the team can make it happen, then why not?” Landry said before meeting the Giants at MetLife Stadium on Thursday for the preseason opener. “[Beckham] definitely would be [up for it].” nypost.com/2018/08/07/odell-beckham-definitely-up-for-trade-here-browns-star/

I thought OBJ was negotiating a long term contract with the Giants? last night on WFAN They were saying that both sides are moving closer to a deal, am I missing something? Is this a negotiating tactic for leverage in a long term deal?

I call total BS. He is just being cool to his friend. I feel the Browns and their loyal fans who have been put through so much deserve a turnaround, and with the talent they're compiling will most likely see it. Getting a player like Beckham would show a strong commitment to this. But this Landry is not being "cool" in how he keeps bringing this up, it does not put his "friend" in a good light.

I meant OB is being cool to Landry saying..."yeah...I'd want to be in Cleveland"..... In reality I think there is no way he would want to. But thats just a gut feeling and yes....I agree the Brows fans deserve that team to finally become competitive...

The Giants will come to an agreement with Odell this is just the messy part the Negotiating part. in some bizarro universe where a deal isn't agreed upon Then we keep him till he is a free agent because Odell on the field gives us the best chance to win a ring. but come on guys they will come to an agreement these are all ugly negotiating tactics. that will be a thing of the past once a deal is agreed upon.

You wouldn't take 4 (FOUR) first round draft picks from the BROWNS (AUTOMATIC GREAT DRAFT PICKS) for OBJ? DG would and so would any other GM in the league. Belichick wouldn't even slow the team bus down for Brady if he was offered that haul. He would push him out while it was going 60 MPH...

Does anyone recall how many supposed conversations they've had with friends about s*** that's never actually going to happen? This is the same thing, except most of us don't have sports reporters around us drooling over the names of our buddies.

First of all a deal like that isn't going to happen except maybe in your dream land. and may be I am just old school but I believe there all just suspects until they are not. I think this all depends on weather you believe we can win a Super Bowl this year I believe we can if we stay healthy and consistent and get some lucky breaks here and there. bottom line anyone who follows negotiations knows they can get messy and most of it is maneuvering for leverage in a deal. a lot of it isn't even true. a deal will get done bank on it. also this could be old news from a couple of days ago.

I don't think it would happen with four, but I would even take 3. It's the Browns and they aren't exactly know for making the smartest moves. LMFAO, this is the team that drafting Manzel in the first round! A QB that just threw 4 interceptions in the first half of a CFL game! I want OBJ on the Giants, he is a game breaking wide receiver but If you could get 3 first round draft picks from a perennial bad team like the Browns, you have to make that move. You don't get into their 2nd contract until 5 years and you ensure that you get your QB of the future with those picks. A move like this would set the Giants up for the next 8 years.

Is this a negotiating tactic for leverage in a long term deal? this sounds like a good friend trying to help his buddy get a contract sooner rather then later, if OBJ was so up to play for the Browns he wouldn't be here proving he is a great guy on and off the field, he would be holding out trying to force the giants hand.

Landry is not on the same talent level.
