I will say it again. First game handing out and taking shots. Rookies feeling the speed of the game for the first time, veterans adjusting what used to be natural in their role within not only a new system but very different. Let these guys get their feet underneath them. The game tends to slow down after the first couple of weeks of contact. This week will be good for the Giants. They will be practicing in Detroit against guys who aren’t their brothers. Next week things should start to come together a bit more for the first unit. This was a good start imo. Some positives to build off of and plenty of easily correctable mistakes to keep em all honest. Bring on the LIONS. I'm sure you're right but why don't other teams suck like we do. I mean...shouldn't this be true for all teams? Most do. Most suck more and make average teams look great this time of year.

It's the same ritual we go through every preseason. The team looks awful and we all rationalize that it doesn't mean anything. Well we've sucked for 5 years now. I would really like to see us play well in a preseason game for a change. Just show us something Giants......Anything! MH I totally agree. It does mean something. Giants fans need to watch other pre-season games and see the difference in execution. Why doesn't this team ever dominant in a preseason game. May different players yet where getting the same results. The sky isn't falling but it has a familiar theme which bothers me.

Yet they carry the same lack of fundamentals into the regular season This O which struggled to score 7/10 points a game will need to score 27/30 ppg to have a shot at winning any games with that secondary

One play. That's what talk radio will talk about. They will ignore that the team was bad tonight.
But as I said...It's become a familiar tale.

The only positive was this one play. And unfortunately his other 4 rushes were for 4 yards. The run game overall did look better from last year which I guess isn't saying too much Tyrod Taylor was 5/5 for 99 yards and a TD. Yikes. Run defense was great though...Nick Chubb had 15 carries for all of 11 yards.

QB #1 Eli QB #2 Kyle QB #3 Davis. Thats what I saw today. We need Webb or anybody to be good or at least as a credible backup. Webb talks a big game but that was not a good outing. And so much so , that kind of performance for other NFL teams, your bags would be packed and you would have to go team hunting on monday. Teams need to solidify the backup position. Some solid journeyman QB could become available on Monday.

I remember watching the 2013 preseason thinking can't really be this bad well it was and has been since, that said I might be in the minority but I felt this team had at least a 2 year rebuild on it's hands, they had some peaces on both sides of the ball but weren't solid in some of the most important position groups OL and LB and DE but with the scheme change that one might not be so bad,I think they have made progress time will tell how much at least they had enough time to run the offense or so it seemed.

It is too bad at this point looked nothing like he does in practice think he had raymond wide open for a TD and air mailed it was wild high all night, think nerves got to him hopefully he can get over it kid works so hard at it.

I think the starting Offense will be fine. The thing that scares me about the team in general is the lack of depth. That secondary has issues. The Martin kid looks good for a P.S. keeper.. Kyle is a decent backup. Eli is the only Franchise QB on the team.

Have to agree watching the Cowpies and niners they look light years ahead of the Giants at the moment, but then again both offensive and defensive schemes are new lots of new faces think I will give some time see if they can learn from there mistakes tonight and play better each week, that would be something new and unusual for this franchise improvment.

When has Eli ever led the team to a TD - rushing or passing in the preseason?

Im sure he did in the years 2007 thru 2012, when they were good.

What SB did on his 1st NFL carry should shut up every naysayer that didn't want him drafted by the Giants. All him too as no one really blocked those guys he made miss at the LOS.

I was fine with the Giants drafting Barkley, but one run in the first preseason game against the worst franchise in the NFL, he was clearly touched by god.

So one run, on the first play, of the first preseason game against a team that is 1-31 the past two seasons? Small sample size, no? lol. If not too small a sample size then what about the ensuing 3 rushes for a total of 4 yards?

I don't know man. Granted I don't watch every preseason game of every team but the Giants once again look sloppy, lost and most importantly: poorly executing fundamentals. But hopefully this new coaching staff can make the proper adjustments and continue to build until week 1. Which is something McAdoo and Coughlin (at the end of his tenure) struggled to do.

I wouldn't put any of that on Coughlin, he didn't have much when it came to players at the end.

Not saying Mayfield won't be good but he just got more of the same tonight as he did in college guys running 5-6 yards open. Yeah we'll have to see what he does when he plays in regular season games but he sure looks legit

I wouldn't put any of that on Coughlin, he didn't have much when it came to players at the end. TC had nothing at the end and I think his performance in Jacksonville puts to bed any thought that he was pushing for all these athlete's that weren't very tough or good football players.

I'll always be grateful for his no nonsense style of coaching. thanks to him, we have two more championships......the guy hated losing! who else can say they beat the Brady/ Belichick combo in two very good played games? lol, you know he wants to kick some arse here soon.
