FWIW the only way I won't trade down is if Young falls to me

FIRE EVERYBODY! How can we not compete for a playoff spot/superbowl run during a rebuild with a rookie QB and 35 million dead money?...said no sane fan ever.
Is Gettleman the man?
I have my doubts after we took an east-west home run threat running back at 2 overall and Jones at the pick 6 spot. Add in the silly OBJ situation, and wow on some of his moves. However, what's done is done, and we have to let the man complete the mission, or fail at it. Cutting ANYBODY loose during the rebuild will assure many more years of team hell...can NOT repeat this common football sense enough.
Jeez if we had a proven commodity or up and coming genius available, he still has to deal with the direction we have already taken this rebuild in...not the situation any potential brainiac would want to be put in.
We have to let it ride out. Have a drink...relax, and don't allow the growing pains, both team and QB, to disrupt the course.
So, here is latest draft...with an emphasis on the offensive line. I can't repeat this enough, this offensive line and defense need to be upgraded before any x receiver or top ten tight end is considered in the first round...the game is still won and lost from the get the QB and protect the QB philosophy.
Some GREAT OL this year...we should be top ten, but I expect a run put together against some weak teams as Jones will (please, please let him pan out)assume some growth during the season. Jets, Redskins and Dolphins? We should get 2, and maybe one upset...5-11?
7: R1P7 OT ANDREW THOMAS GEORGIA
If he is available, he is the choice. Take the x receivers and stop thinking we are going to have time for any deep routes with this offensive line. It is silly thought, and even WITH OBJ, teams still lose with him. You want to win a fantasy draft, you take the sports center guys. You want to win football games, you win on the line of scrimmage, and follow up with great QB play.
39: R2P7 C CREED HUMPHREY OKLAHOMA
The Sooners have a gem in this guy. I am back and forth with Tyler Biadasz at this stage of the college season. The combines will answer a lot. The Giants have to upgrade this line, and this guy is an angry mean people mover from an offensive line factory.
71: R3P7 EDGE CARLOS BASHAM WAKE FOREST
Just watched some of this guy, as unlike Duke (hahah), I rarely see Wake...he is good. Very good. At this spot, I will go with him.
98: R3P34 LB TROY DYE OREGON
Same as previous...
113: R4P7 DL MARVIN WILSON FLORIDA
1st round talent.
151: R5P7 WR TYLER JOHNSON MINNESOTA
Great after catch skills...a LOT of them this year.
185: R6P7 WR COLLIN JOHNSON TEXAS
Tall and skilled. He, along with Johnson will be picked IMHO before here..
235: R7P22 OT AUSTIN JACKSON USC
Another tackle, one that might be a day 2 OT...he has VERY quick feet.
240: R7P27 CB ESSANG BASSEY WAKE FOREST
Same...
247: R7P34 G MEKHI BECTON LOUISVILLE
Same...he and Bassay will be picked day 2 the latest. IMHO of course
253: R7P40 TE CHARLIE WOERNER GEORGIA
Time for a tight end...
255: R7P42 RB REGGIE CORBIN ILLINOIS
Time for a 2 or 3 running back

New draft new draft position Did ultimate GM again This time Byron Jones was available and pounced Still have a bunch of coin left
SIGNED PLAYERS Name Position Cap Hit Riley Dixon P 1,875,000 Jack Conklin OT 7,800,000 Kyle Van Noy LB 6,300,000 Byron Jones. CB 13,400,000
Now to the draft We are now picking 6th. New rule I have We are in possible range of a unicorn, the best player in the draft,Chase Young. Reality is we have to be in tbe top 4 The only way I'm not trading back is if Young falls to me In this case he went to the Falcons at 4. Unpopular opinion to a few Because I addressed RT in free agency O line isn't a priority to not trade back And also Jeudy fell to me. I can get Lamb or Ruggs in a trade back, which is what I did with Arizona and obtained and extra 2,3 and 4,and then I played around more....
Some opinions with a few picks(which still for the most part are the same,in which I used a bunch of early draft recourses to build around Jones (unpopular opinion part 2)
17: R1P17 WR CEEDEE LAMB OKLAHOMA
Explosive Beckham talent in a trade back I think so
46: R2P14 C CREED HUMPHREY OKLAHOMA
Traded back from 38 with a bunch of o line and linebacker options behind me,my usual pick was taken but this guy is gaining steam as possibly the co best C in ths draft
49: R2P17 OT ALARIC JACKSON IOWA
Not Wirfs, slightly more unrefined, groomed to take over possibly in 2021 for Soldier
70: R3P6 TE COLBY PARKINSON STANFORD
Him and Engram would be deadly in a 12 81: R3P17 DL MARVIN WILSON FLORIDA
Adding to the front rotation isnt a bad thing here
86: R3P22 EDGE CARLOS BASHAM WAKE FOREST
Starting to accumulate sacks and higher draft stock..adding to the rotation of Golden,Xman and Carter 98: R3P34
LB CHARLES SNOWDEN VIRGINIA 112: R4P6 BPA,depth
G DAMIEN LEWIS LSU 117: R4P11
BPA,depth
S ANTOINE WINFIELD MINNESOTA 123: R4P17
BPA,need
RB J.K. DOBBINS OHIO STATE 150: R5P6
BPA,explosive all purpose back
Rest were BPA LB ERROLL THOMPSON MISSISSIPPI STATE 184: R6P6 WR K.J. HILL OHIO STATE 210: R6P32 CB JULIAN BLACKMON UTAH 219: R7P6 CB MIKE HAMPTON SOUTH FLORIDA 230: R7P17 G TREVOUR WALLACE-SIMMS MISSOURI 241: R7P28 TE HARRISON BRYANT FLORIDA ATLANTIC 247: R7P34 RB RODNEY SMITH MINNESOTA 253: R7P40 LB MARCEL SPEARS JR. Yeah he will fly up draft boards after he busts a sub 4.3 40,but him(along with Lamb and Ruggs)are the type of receivers Shurmer wants for his system that can take one of Jones's perfectly placed passes on stride house, and has frightening deep speed. Johnson is a nice late round prospect that also has the speed to add depth (so we don't have to have Latimer and Fowler wasting roster spots next year)...having a trio of Slayton,Reagor and Johnson could threaten a defense deep ..mixing an d maxing with Tate and hopefully Sheppard. Like the O line depth throughout the draft as well

Like the O line depth throughout the draft as well There's no question Reagor will go after Thomas, who is 1 of the top OT prospects in a while to come out of college. I dont imagine him lasting to the 3rd at all, we would be LUCKY to get him in the 2nd round, but who knows there may be a run on QBs if we are lucky. There are SO MANY good prospects at WR that I would love to get like Lamb, Higgins, Reagor, Jeudy or Ruggs.

I love this draft...until the LSU game ends... 6: R1P6 OT ANDREW THOMAS GEORGIA Unless Chase Young drops, or we trade back...this is the obvious choice (as of now or course). Andrew has played lights out this year and is easily the best offensive tackle prospect. 38: R2P6 G TYLER BIADASZ WISCONSIN BPA available here, and a huge upgrade. The OL needs to get better .... these first two picks will be the players to make or break Mr. Jones career, and let us know if we enter QB hell... NOT some fantasy wide receiver with limited targets. This is so the pick at 6...needs to be said again. Chase Young, and then this guy. 70: R3P6 LB MALIK HARRISON OHIO STATE Every time I watch Ohio State, I want the Giants to draft their entire defense. IMHO... they, and not the Badgers, have the best unit in college. This kid is all over making huge hits. Time to go defense...time to pay attention to this factory. Time to pay attention to Malik Harrison. Of course, once the combines hit, these players fly all over the boards, but as of today's game...I am on two linebackers from that game's bandwagon. 98: R3P34 DL RAEQUAN WILLIAMS MICHIGAN STATE Long fast and powerful...if he corrects his pad levels, is a 1st round 3 tech monster who would fit our system ( if we still have a system, as fans are in silly win now, fire everybody mentality during a rebuild ) 112: R4P6 CB SHAUN WADE OHIO STATE He will be picked WAY before this spot arrives. Ohio State's best kept secret for now...safety?...slot corner? ...press, zone corner?...he can do it all. Cover, tackle, blitz...cover anybody. IMMENSE talent. 150: R5P6 LB ZACK BAUN WISCONSIN Why is nobody talking about this senior captain? He is all over the field every Badger game I watch. Harrison and Baun? Williams learning to bend? 184: R6P6 WR JUWAN JOHNSON OREGON HUGE receiver...been thinking (head now hurts)...do we need another slot receiver? We, IMHO of course, do NOT need to spend a pick on any 1 receiver. We need a few more weapons, but they do not have to be another OBJ...give the offense a line, and it all will flow from there. There is a reason the Cowboys trounced the Eagles...see who the players are that got back from IR. Smith and Collins in...two tackles...they both are "decent". When a QB has plenty of time, any team wins. Build the WALL! BTW...speaking of walls...great feature on a football life on the old cowboys OL that made Aikman and the rest who they were....good skill into hall of famers. That was the best OL ever assembled...can see why they are doing it again. 219: R7P6 TE LUKE FARRELL OHIO STATE He's a tight end that can play in the NFL...round 7? Silly mock. 241: R7P28 DL MARQUISS SPENCER MISSISSIPPI STATE 247: R7P34 RB PATRICK TAYLOR JR. MEMPHIS Huge back...not Jacobs huge, but nice power. Huge running back. 253: R7P40 OT JOSH JONES HOUSTON He has all the tools and size...should go up the board. 255: R7P42 DL TYLER SHELVIN LSU Some LSU for you, as I watch the game. Some good stories about this nose tackle with a nose for pizza. Hey, it's the last pick...need some LSU in here, need some pizza. BTW, he was the highest graded HS prospect in Louisiana, the one recruit.

Geez, I love this draft My wall draft...declaring again, both tackles are in serious need of upgrading We have a rookie QB. More time please. Developing, and giving him time to throw. No, we should not await Gettleman to do what he does "best"...simply find gem in the middle rounds. No, we should not purchase a right tackle free agent because it will then simply allow for a receiver pick in the first round 6: R1P6 OT ANDREW THOMAS GEORGIA 38: R2P6 OT PRINCE TEGA WANOGHO AUBURN 70: R3P6 C LLOYD CUSHENBERRY LSU98: R3P34 WR MICHAEL PITTMAN JR. Cushenberry is quickly becoming my 2nd favorite Center after Biadasz People would lose their shit having us go OL in the 1st 3 rounds, but IMO it wouldnt be a bad plan what so ever

Jones now has a young great o line and now have frightening speed with playmakers on the field. Modern NFL=speed kills with your playmakers.Forces defenses to play back deep, with an improved line to go with this Barkley could set records as could the offense

When this happens as I upgraded I trade down and get Lamb and extra picks.. And this is an example of why if you have the chance to get your RT for long term in Free agency you do it,because now we aren't shopping hungry for a tackle early, this is how you end up with a Flowers, ect. Not familiar with the Duck tackle Wilcox is legit btw,see his games all the time in Tampa I'll definitely take this one of it happened,I know of a few that will set their cat on fire with Jeudy at 6 but those are the clueless ones that don't grasp the concept of BPA and need meeting with a legit blue chip player I need to do one again I'm going to really throw a twist in mine if I can
