New week new draft
When you draft your franchise qb at 6 you pre empt everything and make sure he is surrounded by as much infestructure and firepower as possible on his formative years, this includes free agency Its ignorant to not justifying any attempt to get a major upgrade on the line in FA just because you use this as a crutch for being equally ignorant with avoiding play makers early. The main reason is that we aren't guaranteed the blue chip OT to fall into our laps and we aren't shopping hungry,as the worst thing one can do is pigeonhole a t with our first pick, that is how things like Erik Flowers happen
So
My offseason GM mode
Jack Conklin OT 7,800,000 Byron Jones. CB 13,400,000 Have to pay William's and Golden
Now this is the way to stabilize the defense..
However Something interesting happened on draft day
Download Results
2: R1P2 EDGE CHASE YOUNG OHIO STATE
Ok I realized after I made this pick I ****ed up in that I FORGOT to send my 6 overall to cincy with 2 future number ones...and they actually accepted (chalk it up as a Bengals type move) But..ask yourself before you gag on 2 future's and our 6? Mack cost the Bears 2 1sts and a 2nd Woukd you trade 2 future picks for LT? No brainer yes,we are getting a generational game changing team changing player on defense that behind our D line we think we will have coumd be near a 20 sack a year guy on a rookie contract Combined with the free agent signing of Jones this is a super bowl defense.
18: R1P18 WR CEEDEE LAMB OKLAHOMA
OK..we are going to pretend we traded someone in the past to Cincy for their number 2 so we could keep our 6th Which I promptly traded back for My rule,Thomas, take Jeudy or other, tradd back Lamb is the same player as Jeudy plus more picks. One other thing Shurmer prefers his recievers to have speed and be great after the catch. This mythical love affair for big bodied but slow recievers that are block first types and red zone only specialists GTFO with this prehistoric concept Football is indeed basketball on grass,,even a team like San Francisco that's insanely run heavy is playing a fast break style offense but using speed all over the field and spreading defenses out. Lamb is the prototypical modern era big play guy that is a threat everywhere. This is our Odell replacement
20: R1P20 S GRANT DELPIT LSU
As I started to predict Delpit while an elite player at his position was being overvalued, this is where I see him going And I'm running to the podium knowing the defense is set the next 5 years .... . 38: R2P6 C CREED HUMPHREY OKLAHOMA
The Wisconsin C as expected is starting to move into the 1st Humphrey plays in a prototypical modern interior zone/power scheme.Their backs are averaging 7 yards a carry. Yeah I think I want some of this
82: R3P18 TE COLBY PARKINSON STANFORD
My trade back netted me a 3rd. Get a top TE prospect opposite Engram
98: R3P34 OT CALVIN THROCKMORTON OREGON
Seeing him come up in a few mocks...someone to develop behind Soldier
112: R4P6 G TOMMY KRAEMER NOTRE DAME 150: R5P6 DL MUSTAFA JOHNSON COLORADO 184: R6P6 LB ZACH BAUN WISCONSIN
How is he still here in the 6th
219: R7P6 WR K.J. HILL OHIO STATE
So the more he produces the further he falls He is a mid to late day 2 pick
Also punt and KO returns
241: R7P28 RB JOSHUA KELLEY UCLA 247: R7P34 QB STEVEN MONTEZ COLORADO 253: R7P40 G NICK HARRIS WASHINGTON 255: R7P42 OT LIAM EICHENBERG NOTRE DAME
One can dream I guess with this scenario
And yes,I repeat I would every day of the week and weekends bnb trade 2 future number ones for Chase Young

Remember, a mock draft is not a mock draft unless it has the "DYNAMIC" in the name
Aris's DYNAMIC mock draft 243
6: R1P6 OT ANDREW THOMAS GEORGIA 38: R2P6 OT PRINCE TEGA WANOGHO AUBURN
Two dynamic bookend tackles, creating more dynamic all over the field. Dynamic blocking creates dynamic time, and thus creates...yes, DYNAMIC fantasy points.
It's all part of the dynamics.
98: R3P34 DL MARVIN WILSON FLORIDA
Another tackle? For Gettleman, having Wilson slip to 98 is dynamic.
112: R4P6 LB TROY DYE OREGON 150: R5P6 LB TUF BORLAND OHIO STATE 184: R6P6 LB ZACH BAUN WISCONSIN 219: R7P6
Creating a dynamic linebacking crew. This will allow for a dynamic 3-4...did the Giants forget that the 4 in the 3-4 are linebackers, and in order for a 3-4 to work, we need to go past the 3, and head into the dynamic zone of 4?
WR MICHAEL PITTMAN JR. USC 241: R7P28
The most dynamic receiver we can get this far back. Allow for the play calling to get the recievers open, and have a group of them...all dynamic.
CB ESSANG BASSEY WAKE FOREST 247: R7P34 WR JUWAN JOHNSON OREGON 253: R7P40 CB DAMON ARNETTE OHIO STATE 255: R7P42 OT LIAM EICHENBERG NOTRE DAME
These late round picks? Yes... Dynamic!

Useless narcissists are not worth the time and energy
Even when the bullshit/douchbag to signal ratio makes it almost unbearable to be in here.
In the meantime someone really needs to look up the word narcissist, then again that person would think what he is doing is fine and blame the others because thats what narcissists do

Let's do this again only this time I actually send my 6th overall to Cincy and make it much more realistic
And again in GM mode did the responsible thing by signing a RT long term because again your not promised a blue chip tackle early or you have an opportunity to completely change the face of one side of the ball so drastically it makes that side of the ball super bowl caliber
Jack Conklin OT 7,800,000 Byron Jones. CB 13,400,000 Have to pay William's and Golden
2: R1P2 EDGE CHASE YOUNG OHIO STATE
Cost me 2 future 1st rounders Will be well worth it when he averages 18 plus sacks a game and the other things his presence will do to vastly improve the defense and team
48: R2P16 C TYLER BIADASZ WISCONSIN
Was debating on staying put but I really wanted another day 2 pick to help add pieces around Jones, had the Cs from LSU and Oklahoma in mind for the trade down, yet he was still here.Thank you very much
80: R3P16 WR JUSTIN JEFFERSON LSU
Reagor was taken a pick ahead of me,of the taller guys he has the most deep speed and after the catch ability, which is whatvqe do,and not a lumbering plodder.Could make a nice book end to Slayton, remember boys and girls,Modern NFL..speed outside and with playmakers kills, slow and plodding= suck
98: R3P34 OT COLE VAN LANEN WISCONSIN
Perfect spot for a T prospect to groom to take over for Soldier, especially now that I have RT covered with Conklin
112: R4P6 LB ZACH BAUN WISCONSIN
Moving on up the draft boards..some depth and potential starting ability here. Having an interior rotation of Baun,Connelly,Mayo, and Carter if moved inside...looks a lot better, especially after adding Young and our D line.
150: R5P6 TE COLBY PARKINSON STANFORD
Why is he falling? Legit starting 2 way TE to pair with Engram
179: R6P1 WR DONOVAN PEOPLES-JONES MICHIGAN
He won't last this long, prototypical fast dangerous after the catch WR with great ball skills
184: R6P6 OT LIAM EICHENBERG NOTRE DAME 219: R7P6 G DAMIEN LEWIS LSU 247: R7P34 S DAVID DOWELL MICHIGAN STATE 253: R7P40 WR DENZEL MIMS BAYLOR 255: R7P42 S JEREMIAH DINSON AUBURN
Lessons learned 1.to be able to make a franchise changing moves such as I did you have to make sure if possible a dire need can be fixed in Free agency. This is why you do what I did with Conklin, because I make this move odds are we have to go in with the same tackles as this year if I don't sign Conklin. 2.Also a lesson in you can't always get what you want. Missing out on Reagor hurt because thats the type or player I want on this team to fighten opposing defenses into opening up everything else. Watching Jefferson he has number 1 type skillsets that with Slayton could force teams into a 2 deep zone and open everything else. But again, when you have the chance to get a franchise changing player, some sacrifices have to be made
3 2 first round picks will only be remembered on the day of the draft when our end of round one picks are used by Cincinnati when the defense is a top in the league and Jones hopefully is leading a prolific offense

Another college ball day...another mock. I must implore all Giant fans who follow the draft, to upgrade the the premium draft....the $11 one where where you can clear cap space and other dynamic stuff. It's way better. MUCH better, and I can't emphasize the MUCH enough...that's why I am putting in in capitals. Until you can live in a fantasy GM world of caps, the team salary and the betters... you simply can not follow college ball and top players as well as those who upgrade. It's the ultimate GM mode...and you can even make fantasy trades. Alright, before I post my latest mock, I need to ask. Are you so vain you probably think this post is about you? Well, do you? Here we go. 6: R1P6 OT ANDREW THOMAS GEORGIA Same choice. Let's see him play against a hungry Florida team today...with some top pass rushing. Florida is the best pass rushing team in the SEC. This game needs to be on every ultimate GM's radar, and any ultimate GM needs to send his scouts to observe. Jabari Zuniga and Jonathan Greenard might be back for Florida. Anybody with an update? Oh, this is THE (emphasis on the, the) test for the dynamic Andrew Thomas. 38: R2P6 LB DYLAN MOSES ALABAMA Willing to take a chance on a ACL and a player out? The best linebacker in the draft? He falls? Can play inside or outside. Incredible talent. Tough choice, but as a premium member of the mock draft site, I have to make these tough decisions. I have decided to take a chance. 98: R3P34 C LLOYD CUSHENBERRY LSU Pick 98? Perfect time for Gettleman, and the other premium GM, myself, to pull the trigger. 112: R4P6 LB ZACH BAUN WISCONSIN Zach the sack is rising on boards. With Moses, thiswill begin setting up, IMHO of course, the defense a young QB needs. Give a young QB an offensive line, and defense...let the weapons follow. 150: R5P6 OT CALVIN THROCKMORTON OREGON Calvin should be a top tackle drafted, easy spot here. Has some bending issues, but so did Solder coming out of Colorado, and we seen how good Nate has become. Wait, what. Let's hope Calvin learns to bend, especially if taken in the first round like Nate Solder was. 184: R6P6 WR DENZEL MIMS BAYLOR My scouting staff says he is a player to watch. Yes, for only 6 dollars a month more, fanspeak will not only give you the ultimate GM experience, but will send a scouting staff of a boy scout troop located near where you live. They not only will google players and their draft profiles, but will watch highlight videos, and pound the table for who has the best soundtracks on the youtube videos. Oh, and they will cut your lawn as an added bonus. www.facebook.com/foxsports/videos/what-a-catch-by-baylors-denzel-mims-/809464262825864/ 219: R7P6 CB ESSANG BASSEY WAKE FOREST We need a corner for the slot. Here is a corner for the slot. In the 7th round, this is a steal. 241: R7P28 RB REGGIE CORBIN ILLINOIS 247: R7P34 WR JUWAN JOHNSON OREGON 253: R7P40 WR TYRIE CLEVELAND FLORIDA 255: R7P42 DL RAY LIMA IOWA STATE

So far Young is ALWAYS gone, so i pick between Andrew Thomas, Jerry Jeudy, or Grant Delpit. Im honestly not too familiar with any of tne free agent tackles coming up so i dunno whats the best option. Throckmorton is OK, hes not a very agile guy , but hes a decent option. Hes a total mauler in the run game and an anchor in the pass game, BUT he has issue with speed guys on the outside making some experts project him at guard, so hes not my fav OT option.

I was totally impressed by both Auburn tackles last week to be honest.Driscoll is my sleeper tackle. Seems Auburn is starting to be a nice O line factory lately (Greg Robinson notwithstanding of coursd)

Driscoll, is very good prospect. His only drawback, he has two major knee surgeries. The Bengals, may go QB in the upcoming draft.. Ryan Finley, will b be finishing out the season. This will determine which direction , the Bengals will go in the draft.

I'm all in on the Georgia OT at 6 bandwagon, but do want to see how a hybrid strong safety/Will might play out, as this defense needs that type of player. Trade back if Young/Thomas are gone? Yeah, I'd prefer Delpit here on the defense...or the Jalen Ramsey lookalike, Jeffrey Okudah from Ohio State. Speaking of, wonder why he is not talked about more on this board...we all see what Young can do on Ohio State, but this corner is a freak. Actually, all their corners are great. This draft is shaping up to be a good year to have some extra picks.

If we end up picking between 10-15 he is definitely in my conversation as potential BPA(along with Delpit who while the top guy at his position, unless he is an obvious unicorn at his position is also a 10-15 pock valud) I'll withhold further comment as to not add any more toxic drama to this thread than has already been needlessly created.

The "watched a lot of football yesterday/William's probably being resigned/oh **** Shepard might be done" draft
Remember, its irresponsible to purposely avoid upgrading a position in FA if you can find a valid long term solution because of a dogma. Rule 101,upgrading means not shopping hungry and if a player you cover at a need position falls to you as a BPA,you can never have enough..
So until further notice Conklin and Byron Jones are long term upgrades at RT and the other corner spot opposite Baker..and I've resigned Golden
R1P6 OT ANDREW THOMAS GEORGIA
Shocker He actually fell to me this time. Immediate hung up my phone with potential trade back partners. Yes I signed Conklin...so Thomas now competes with Soldier for the starting LT job,in a way better to work for it then being handed it because he will be that much better when he takes the job..
47: R2P15 C TYLER BIADASZ WISCONSIN
Again traded back here seeing a number of players I liked back here, shocked my top rated player fell to me here. I would say our O line rebuild is quite finished
79: R3P15 LB ZACH BAUN WISCONSIN
Reagor was taken a pick ahead of me here. This was not a BPA pick but more of taking a player that will rise fast come draft season...pairs nice with Connelly
98: R3P34 S J.R. REED GEORGIA
See above..I actually think he could be in play for real come draft day with our 2nd round pick
112: R4P6 WR K.J. HILL OHIO STATE
I was speaking of the 2nd wave of recievers, and with Shepard's future in doubt and really needing to upgrade from Latimer and Fowler as they are not good enough...Hill is the dynamic speed guy thats a threat with Yac yards that Shurmer wants Remember. Modern NFL.. speed and ball skills are needed all across the field to stress defenses all over the field
150: R5P6 WR DONOVAN PEOPLES-JONES MICHIGAN
Armani Toomer 2.0 I think so
184: R6P6 WR JAMES PROCHE SMU
Some are going to say overkill but Jones needs to have as many legit playmakers as possible behind a good line to rapidly develop This guy is a perfect fit for our system, great route runner and hands, good deep speed and ability to take simple slants to the house, impressed me big time
Rest are BPA depth picks
219: R7P6 EDGE TREVON HILL MIAMI 243: R7P30 G STEVEN GONZALEZ PENN STATE 247: R7P34 LB MICHAEL DIVINITY JR. LSU 253: R7P40 CB TRAJAN BANDY MIAMI 255: R7P42 S DAVID DOWELL MICHIGAN STATE
I would be happy with this haul if it happens for real as I got a unicorn tackle ,top C,improved the middle of the defense and added playmaker's from top to bottom on the depth chart at WR

Simmons at 6?!?!?!?! I get that hes the clear cut best LB in the draft, but 6??? Got tired of Big Mr T at 6 every mock. I hear ya, every once in a while even if thomas is still there, I like to switch it up every so often. I LIKE Simmons, but unless we shift Carter to the inside, then we have too many starting caliber OLBs and not enough ILBs, because Simmons isnt the guy on the inside being that he's like only 225lbs or so. So if we move Carter inside I would be more keen on drafting Simmons. He really does everything well, but I dont know how he will be going up against guards and centers in the pros. Im getting more comfortable with Delpit, if Young and Thomas arent there. He is 1 of the best free safety prospects to come out in a while, hell he's probably 1 of the best safety prospects to come out in a while. There arent really any holes in his game, AND he could control the deep center of the field allowing Peppers to be the swiss army knife all over the field. I havent really given too much thought to a CB especially that high, when we have Baker to start and who knows what we have in Ballentine and Beal. Could be great could be a waste, but we will never know until they get some snaps on defense.

Dark times for Giant fans....is Dave Gettleman the right GM?
If not, we're then further down, well past QB hell...new GM, new coaches, now philosophy, new QB...a new direction on a team without any sense of where they are or where they are going
My again, we need the meats draft.
OL, and defense.

Well Not directed at anyone here but to vent in general
When you do such a drastic tear down and rebuild over such short of a time you get what we are seeing,in effect an expansion team To pull the plug not even 2 years in and start over like many say is the most ignorant thing a team can do,because blowing up the entire staff in effect would be doing this Inconvenient truth, this is a r year plan With that said the D line is probably set for a very long time. Being so young on defense its hard to evaluate. Offense Both tackles need to be replaced ASAP This is why I'm signing Conklin because your not replacing both via the draft
And Byron Jones is still my choice to really upgrade the young secondary
Draft
R1P6 OT ANDREW THOMAS GEORGIA 50: R2P18 WR JALEN REAGOR TCU 82: R3P18 C LLOYD CUSHENBERRY LSU 98: R3P34 EDGE BRADLEE ANAE UTAH 118: R4P12 S J.R. REED GEORGIA 121: R4P15 G MEKHI BECTON LOUISVILLE 150: R5P6 WR DONOVAN PEOPLES-JONES MICHIGAN 184: R6P6 WR JAMES PROCHE SMU 219: R7P6 LB ERROLL THOMPSON MISSISSIPPI STATE 243: R7P30 S KVON WALLACE CLEMSON 247: R7P34 LB MICHAEL DIVINITY JR. LSU 253: R7P40 RB PATRICK TAYLOR JR. MEMPHIS 255: R7P42 QB KHALIL TATE ARIZONA
In short because the defense is still young I decided to really go out and build a complete offense around Jones, finish the O line, get him enough playmakers to open up Barkley (I'm also assuming Sheppard is done) Getting Jones established as quickly as possible as a top end qb asap helps the turn around

6'3 215 pounds? Second in the nation with pass break ups...a tackling machine. He has it all...as a 5th round pick this is silly. CBS has him as mid 1st round talent...we could use another corner, especially this much talent and in the ...5th round. 184: R6P6 G MEKHI BECTON LOUISVILLE 219: R7P6 CB DAMON ARNETTE OHIO STATE 243: R7P30 CB ESSANG BASSEY WAKE FOREST 247: R7P34 WR DENZEL MIMS BAYLOR 253: R7P40 RB REGGIE CORBIN ILLINOIS 255: R7P42 WR JUWAN JOHNSON OREGON

6: R1P6 OT ANDREW THOMAS GEORGIA - Dude seems like the best OT to come out in a LONG time. He is strong, agile, mean, smart, he's just as good against the pass as he is against the run. Great mobility, great punch, good eyes. He is THEE complete player when it comes to what you want at LT
38: R2P6 WR JALEN REAGOR TCU -Every time I see him play, I think of Odell with a totally different personality. He is a threat to get a TD no matter where he gets the ball, dude is an explosive weapon. Not great size, but he makes up for it in just about every other area of need for WRs. Blinding speed, but still a good route runner, but if he gets sent on a vertical route, good luck covering him
98: R3P34 RB ZACK MOSS UTAH -Dude is a BULL who looks to impose his will when he runs the ball. He would be a nasty change of pace to SQB. Moss beats the crap out of you, then Barkleys leaves you in the dust. Could be the next Thunder and Lightning. Constantly breaks tackles and looks for the next weak link to expose before turning on his surprising breakaway speed. Looks for the block when he's in pass pro, dude just likes to hit people, LOL
112: R4P6 LB TROY DYE OREGON -Outstanding range and speed, surprising how good he is in coverage, he is an on field leader and was SUPER productive in college. Seems to stack and shed quite well allowing him to be a pass rush threat from the inside, loves shooting gaps and fires down hill with blinding speed. Would be a dream to pair him with Connelly
150: R5P6 TE MITCHELL WILCOX SOUTH FLORIDA -Slot, In-line wherever he lines up, he's productive. He can speed down the seam and also isnt afraid to come across the middle. Nice hands, good catch radius, LBs and Safety's wont stand a chance 1 on 1 with this dude. He seems like Evan Engram light.
184: R6P6 C DARRYL WILLIAMS MISSISSIPPI STATE -Smart, tough player, who looks for the next guy to pancake. Dude loves the physicality of the game, not the best athlete, but his competitiveness makes up for it. Great strength, excellent combo blocker, doesnt really give up any space in the pass game.
219: R7P6 CB JULIAN BLACKMON UTAH - Listed as a CB but could EASILY translate to Safety in the pros. Long and lean athlete who is more than comfortable in the deep zone. Has impressive deep speed with long strides, great burst from the backpedal and on the hoof to close the ball-carrier/catch point.
243: R7P30 S JALEN ELLIOTT NOTRE DAME - Has played a variety of safety positions such as single-high, two-high, nickel safety and box safety. Sees the field well and can generally anticipate ball movement and final path pre and post snap
247: R7P34 S NIGEL WARRIOR TENNESSEE -Versatile, he lines up in deep zones, the slot, in the box and fills multiple roles, highly physical player that is willing to play through contact and is a good finisher.
253: R7P40 G SHANE LEMIEUX OREGON -Pleasantly mobile for a boxy interior blocker -- he shows good quickness when he's tasked with popping onto the second level or folding around as a puller to fit onto linebackers or edge defenders stepping down into a gap. He does a good job in screen game to really sell his pass sets before ripping past an upfield charge and getting himself set up to work onto the second level.
255: R7P42 EDGE BRYCE HUFF MEMPHIS

You guys are the college experts here, so I will defer to you all. Would you guys trade this year's and next year's first to get Chase Young? Personally, I would do it and i think that he is the best player in the draft by a wide margin. Am I wrong in my thinking?

Kahlil mack cost the Bears 2 future firsts and a 2nd and they gave him a record breaking contract, look how that defense instantly became super bowl caliber. We get the same kind of instant impact with a guy on a rookie contract I'd also strongly consider giving a 2021 first round pick to move up for Thomas Keep the rest of our picks this year to build up talent
