So we've talked Edge Rushers, we've talked OT's, and we've talked WR's but what about our GLARING need in the secondary, a Free Safety
Most of the big name safety's other than Delpit sound like more so in the box safetys which we dont need since we have Peppers filling that role. Unfortunately none of the safety's sound like game changing center field ball hawks back there who could play the single high role with Peppers roaming the field
It SOUNDED like Julian Love was gonna be 'thee guy' but he hasnt seen a damned down this year. Is he really that far out or what
Are there any names in the draft class that pique interest, or maybe an upcoming free agent.... Cause we all know Bethea AINT the answer

Didn't Byron Jones play FS? He is a FA in 2020

I don't think anyone thought Bethea was the answer. He's a stop gap for 1 year. Depending who is a FA it looks like the draft. There are so many directions we can go in. We need at least 5 starting positions desperately. Take your choice.
This year it's Bethea and no matter how bad he is, it's an improvement from last year. Next year maybe we could draft a FS like Adams of the Jets, wouldn't that be nice.
This year we just suck it up and ride with it.

So Kase and others, would you be upset if we took Delpit as our first overall? You just know Bettcher is already whispering his name to DG For any who have not watched him play, Grant will be on full display this Saturday night prime time ...home against 7th ranked Florida

Despite could be a sneaky BPA meets value/need pick when we pick (I still think in the 10-15 range when it's all said and done)
But how many times every year around this time we see a 'can't miss "safety that's compared to Ed Reed in the top 7,come draft time not even the first one taken and often falling into the 2nd round?(Thompson from Alabama last year)

Not really a hole in his game either. I guess depending on who is still out there and where we are drafting. If Jeudy, Thomas and Young are gone, sure id be ok with Delpit

He would definitely be in the conversation along with Wirfs for BPA Along with another player on defense that I'll make a separate post about that would make many of the Gettleman haters insane with rage but would be totally him and actually would make sense

People would actually like that pick even though right now it's quite a reach(see my latest nock with my trade back how I acquired him at 25) Hint Plays D line for Auburn

I really like J.R Reed from Georgia He can be had nid rounds as well I think it would be perfect to be able to get a solid FS prospect around round 3-4. If we were able to get an OT, an edge guy, MLB to go with Connelly, and a FS I'd be pumped

If we were able to get an OT, an edge guy, MLB to go with Connelly, and a FS I'd be pumped Let's see how the season plays out We night have our edge guys with X man and resigning Golden, with Carter being a swiss army knife type or LB that can play inside and outside at a giod level with Connelly Mayo and Tree look really good behind this D line which is starting to dominate after only 6 games together,if this D liine continues to improve(no reason for it not to improve)the 2nd level guys play will also improve as well. Your really good teams (IE Seattle,New England)find a lot of their LBs and safeties mid rounds, and having an incredible D line will make the entire defense better This way we could even next year go BPA the entire draft and get the last few needs and get much better depth by getting the best football players.

Didn't Byron Jones play FS? He is a FA in 2020 Hasn't he had trouble staying healthy?

Makes complete sense. If we hit big on another draft class next year like this one and even last year was solid, then that would be huge. Not to mention a ton in cap space would allow us to ideally have solid options at most if not all areas of serious need. Then they can strictly go for their best guys available (at positions that make sense obviously)
