I found this interesting from a giants perspective.
“Interesting” I haven’t decided if I would have liked DG to have gotten it done, but;
A 3rd (which we have 2 of) and a 4th seems “ok” for a pro bowl receiver. It would have hedged our bet with both Tate and Shepard, while still allowing us to go BPA/value/need in April.
Things I admittedly don’t know; Contract status Injury history
Your thoughts?

I also don’t know if he’s just another glorified slot guy.

Ehh.. He isnt any better than what we have now and he is basicly a slot guy San Francisco is adding a weapon to open up their offense when teams start to sit on their running game,adding another legit slot guy to Kittles (which is why their run game is so good,they play out of the 12 and having Kittles being basicly Bavaro on speed makes them hard to defend to begin with),they are now looking ahead to the playoffs and smarty realizing that there might be a game their defense doesn't show up and they need firepower to come back from a significant deficit.(you cant expect to win low scoring slugfests every game,smart teams build themselves to win all kinds of games)

Ok. Slot guy who is gonna want to get paid. 3 year, 33 million dollar contract up this year.
No need for that right now. And, could just as well sign him in FA anyway. Which I doubt we will. So no reason to give up assets.
Onward and upward
