Aroldis Chapman test positive for Coid 19. Will not be with team to start the season. Zach Britton is the closer. So thats, DJ LeMehuie Luis Cessa Aroldis Chapman Starting to think you guys are right. This is going to be a very odd season if it even happens which I still doubt. Well finishing anyway. I am not surprised at all about this. There will be a lot more coming. If they start the season, I doubt that they will be able to finish it. These leagues are so desperate to salvage all of the money that they can. I love baseball as my favorite sport, but they should sit 2020 out IMO. I think they should play, but Im selfish. Play with masks. I went to the grocery store today and its much more dangerous there than playing baseball.

Bryan Hoch 9 mins · Shared with Public Aaron Judge was removed from tonight’s #Yankees starting lineup with a stiff neck.
And here we go. He might just need to retire already.

Well alright! I gotta admit, Im getting a little excited. I know there are some dumb rules (extra innings baserunner) and some players ducking out due to covid, but I need a big 4 sport on the television right now. I think a 60 game season is going to be really exciting. Each game counts as almost 3 games a piece. Every team is tied in the standings and has a shot to make the postseason in the end of July. Im not sure how trades will work out though. Will there be more or less due to this? Will teams be hesitant to sell since everyone is in it so late? Either way, Yankee baseball is right around the corner. And I cant wait to see who hits the Astros first.

Yankees keeping suspended Domingo German away from spring training TAMPA — Domingo German could not be found among the pitchers and catchers who reported to George M. Steinbrenner Field on Wednesday, for good reason: The suspended right-hander won’t be part of the Yankees’ spring training at all, a decision made so definitively that he doesn’t even have a locker here. Instead, German, who has 63 games left to serve in an 81-game sentence he accepted in January for violating baseball’s domestic-violence rules, will continue to work out at the Yankees’ academy in his native Dominican Republic. “He’s been going to our complex now a few times a week for I think the last three or four weeks,” said Aaron Boone, who added that he recently met with German during a visit to the academy. “(We) feel like he can get the work he needs to get in there, and that’s kind of where we’re at with it right now.” nypost.com/2020/02/12/yankees-keeping-suspended-domingo-german-away-from-spring-training/

Weird. Would be a loss for sure. He has talent. Given that his suspension is for 63 games, and we're only playing 60 this year, it could just be some level of depression related to losing the whole year. Hopefully as next season approaches (assuming we are back to some level of new normal...) the juices start to flow again, and he reconsiders.

Unfortunately for him, the Yankees seem content on Gardner hitting .230, 22, and 70 (in a full year) while playing average defense and Hicks being constantly on the IL and having similar Gardner stats with above average defense. That useless trade for Stanton and that 7 year contract for Hicks also didn't help his cause. I hope that Frazier takes off because he is a very talented player (especially that bat).

I will never understand the Yankee's fascination with Gardner. Don't get me wrong, I get all his good clubhouse/great teammate stuff but that's the kind of thing you give consideration to for your 24 or 25th roster spot. Not a starting outfielder.

Tauchman is another better bat that gets left out with Gardner in there.

“To my teammates, the Yankees organization, and our fans, I am very sorry for the unsettling post last night,” German said. “This past year has been very tough for my family and myself, for which I take full responsibility. Not being with my teammates while they get ready for the season, knowing that I let them down, has taken a toll on me and last night I let my emotions get the best of me. Baseball is my life and I proimse I am not walking away. I am using this time to get stronger, become a better person and father, and I can only hope that I will get to join my teammates once again and make them proud. Thank you to everyone, especially the Yankees’ organiation, for their support. Please forgive me for this mistake.” www.nj.com/yankees/2020/07/latest-on-yankees-domingo-germans-future-cryptic-message.html

MLB WATCH: Yankees’ prospect Jasson Dominguez looks like MLB’s Zion Williamson New York signed Dominguez, the No. 1 prospect in the 2019 international free agent class, to a team-record $5.1 million contract in July 2019. Nicknamed “The Martian” coming out of the Dominican Republic, scouts have compared his raw talent to Mike Trout and his athletic ability to Bo Jackson. Dominguez is also a switch-hitter capable of hitting bombs from either side of the plate and viewed as a plus defender in the future. Several international scouts told ESPN’s Jeff Passan that Dominguez’s raw tools are the best they’ve seen in decades. http://instagram.com/p/CC7A_R8lgk3 sportsnaut.com/2020/07/watch-yankees-prospect-jasson-dominguez-looks-like-mlbs-zion-williamson/
