So in other words they cheated to win? What will the league do? Tell them not to do it again?

Once again a Yankee screwed over for an award. There is no doubt in my mind unbiasedly that Aaron Boone should have won MOY.
Twins 101 wins in a crap division
Yankees 103 wins in the AL East and with a AAA roster most the year due to injuries.
This is worse than Aaron Judge not winning the MVP in 2017 when he should have.

Cody Belinger and Mike Trout win the MVPs
Belingers first and Trouts third.
Mike Trout only trails Barry Bonds in MVPs now. Barry had 7, 4 after the age of 35.

Mike Trout is the best player in the league, but he should not have won the MVP award. I think that the award should go to the best player on a contending team. That's just me though.

YANKEES RELEASE ELLSBURY AND DFA BIRD! Finally! What a joke ellsbury. $153mm for nothing. Reminds me of the guy fakes a bad back to get a medical severance and then is caught mowing the lawn manually.

Talk about getting rid of dead weight. As great as a GM Cashman has been over the years, this was by far his worst move. And he has his fair share of blunders. As for Bird, he probably tore a rotator cuff when picking up the phone to receive the news that he was designated for assignment. Guy is made of paper mache.

That Stanton move is looking arguably worse. 30+ mil per year for a very long time. Bird is totally made out of glass. Lol

Glad they finally dumped Elsbury, what an awful signing. If we could trade Stanton, it would really help the team. Judge is a similar offensive player, and a much better fielder Hopefully he has a comeback year this season, we need more HR's...

Rumors are circling the Yankees might be trying to trade Happ+ to open up to go hard after Cole. Lets hope rumors are correct this season.

"The Players Association will vigorously defend any action taken against Jacoby or his contract and is investigating potential contract violations by his employer."
And here's the relevant portion of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement, which governs the working relationship between the clubs and the players:
"Any treatment a Player receives for a Work-Related Injury by a health care provider who is not affiliated with the Club must be authorized by the Club in advance of the treatment in accordance with Regulation 2 of the (Uniform Players Contract)."

Yankees complained of Astros’ blinking lights in cheating saga. The Yankees’ complaints that they believed the Astros were using technology to steal signs in this year’s ALCS didn’t stop after Game 1. Sources confirmed the Yankees notified Major League Baseball about blinking lights in center field during Game 6 at Minute Maid Park, and the alleged blinking stopped later in the game. It’s unclear if this would represent a rules violation, but it is something the league would look into if a team were trying to gain an advantage. The MLB investigation into potential cheating by the Astros is ongoing and league officials declined to comment Wednesday following an initial report by SNY. The Yankees’ issue with the outfield lights adds to the list of accusations levied at the Astros, which date back at least to their World Series victory in 2017. Houston lost to Washington in this year’s World Series. nypost.com/2019/11/27/yankees-complain-of-astros-blinking-lights-in-cheating-saga/

Not that it means much, but hey, better than not meeting with them: Yankees to meet with Gerrit Cole, Stephen Strasburg this week Ken Rosenthal reports that the Yankees will meet with Gerrit Cole and Stephen Strasburg over the next two days. Not a shock given that (a) the Yankees need starting pitching more than anything else; and (b) these are the two best pitchers available this year and, indeed, are two of the best in the game. But don’t expect fireworks this week. The Yankees have played it slow in free agency in recent years, waiting desired candidates out and giving little public indication before making deals. Obviously Cole and Strasburg are much bigger players than those New York has courted recently, but Brian Cashman is unlikely to move too quickly or to allow a bunch of leaks to emerge from the Yankees’ offices before a deal is made. If a deal is made. sports.yahoo.com/yankees-meet-gerrit-cole-stephen-142143329.html

Cole, Strasburg meeting with Yanks (source) The baseball world will be focused on Southern California during next week’s Winter Meetings, but the Yankees headed west several days early to do some big-game hunting. According to a source, New York was set to meet with free-agent starter Gerrit Cole on Tuesday, followed by a meeting with fellow Scott Boras client Stephen Strasburg on Wednesday. www.mlb.com/yankees/news/gerrit-cole-stephen-strasburg-to-meet-yankees
