This may be the single worst umpiring job I've seen in years. This guy should be heavily fined for his crap performance today. Just wow!!

Not that I care really because this is nothing but a glorified exhibition season...but I really thought the Yankees would be a friggin juggernaut this "season".
What they hell happened? I know what happened to the Red Sox....the FO mailed it in this year. But you guys were supposed to be unstoppable?

Yankees are still the Yankees. I'll be shocked if they make it to the ALCS this year.

I think it was some injury settlement BS-thing to get him off the books. Basically ellsbury is your fireman faking an injury for disability retirement who gets caught mowing the lawn. Except with ellsbury there's no punishment.

I wasn't thrilled about it either. We just got out of Arods contract and signed up for a worse one. But i did think he would give us at least 5 years of solid play before breaking down.

Ok, there are way too many teams in the playoffs now... Not a fan. Feels like a lot of crappy teams are now getting in (insert Yankee joke). Every day that passes, some else clinches.
Except the Red Sox. How embarrassing.
Did you know the last time the Yankees finished under .500 for the season was 1992? The Red Sox finished under .500 8 times since then.
Yeah Im bored.

Injuries. It’s our Achilles heel. I'm pretty sure other teams had injuries. We lost essentially our entire starting rotation. Boo friggin hoo. Yeah, other teams lose their best hitters like Judge, Stanton, Urshela, Torres has been banged up. Hold our beer, we lost two starters before the season even started. Our closer had Covid, and we had injuries to our bullpen. Spare me your boo hoo, the Yankees are decimated every year with injuries. And they continue to make the playoffs. Boston, on the other hand needs to shit the bed every 3 years to fix their roster. Your team is a disaster.. I’ll make sure to remember this while the Yankees are in the playoffs and your team is booking vacations.

Who cares? It's a glorified exhibition season. It doesn't really count. Just like the 2018 season with a certain team caught for cheating and fined and docked draft picks. Major League Baseball did everything possible for all teams to have a legitimate shot at making the playoffs. Boston decided to spit in the wind and give up on the mulligan season. Too bad it wasn’t a full season. Boston would have given the ‘62 Mets a good run for their money.. They could have lost 120 games with their eyes closed.

No....It was clearly the best they can do. It's nobody's fault. It's too bad..But it's just a two month season. That's not what baseball is.
I'm all for making the best of it. It's just unfortunately not a legitimate season.

Agreed. But it did give some fan bases something to look forward too. Franchises like the Reds just clinched the postseason. And with soon to be NL Cy Young Trevor Bauer and Luis Castillo as the top of their rotation, they have a good chance to go deep.

It still will count. Whether its the yankees 28th or the Rays 1st. It will count when all is said and done. Everyone had the same chance. Unlike 2017 and 2018. Also, MLB is going to keep the expanded playoffs going it sounds like. Get used to it.

But the truth is what it is. 60 games isn't close to a real season. It's a sprint and that's not what baseball is.
I guess it's good for us since we'll get a high pick from it, but even that isn't legitimate. They should go by lasts year's results.
