Except for the fact that they kept a declining QB and tried to get him "weapons" over and over, ignoring the most glaring issue that was the o-line, and promoted an inexperienced OC to HC. All for the sake of "continuity" for Eli. Mara was all about Eli's comfort. Don't know if it was actually for Eli's comfort even if that's what it seemed like at times. The thing it's easy to forget about Mac is the fact he was sought after. He was the Eagles first choice for instance. Inexperienced but was on the circuit and probably would have gotten a job as a head coach. It's not like no one else was interested.

As this team continues to lose every week I think that Shurmur could be fired. The current owners now have a history of doing this and that coach had the team winning much more then this current coach. its looking to me that hiring Shurmur was a mistake because he is simply not the right man for this particular job, he might be a good fit somewhere else but right now this is not the place for him because he doesn't have enough HC experience... He won't be getting too much more HC experience at this pace. LOL

It was reported the Eagles interviewed McAdoo and were in scheduling a second interview. This was all happening as the Giants have already had an interview with McAdoo. When the Giants caught wind of the Eagles second interview they swooped in and got their second interview and offered him the job. It makes you think, did the Giants fear of losing McAdoo force them to have that second interview and offer him the job? Either way it doesn’t matter, but looking back at it the Eagles got a super bowl trophy from Pederson and we’re looking or soon to be for our 4 coach since 2015.

Sad that they lucked into a better coach Reese was actually pushing for Doug Marrone there was an instant big disconnect between GM and coach as well

I definitely think the fear of losing a candidate others were courting absolutely made them increase their speed to the finish line. And how he turned out aside...it's not a bad thought if you really believe in the guy and he's a hot commodity. However, as we know...sure didn't work out for us.

Losing out on the candidate(s) you want is a big risk in firing/hiring a coach.
I mean, we could fire Shurmur and when the music stops all of our favorite candidates have other jobs ... leaving us with someone who is even more uninspiring than Shurmur.
That is a nightmare scenario

Mark it down! Well....there you go. So let me get this straight. You watch some kind of youtube broadcast where a guy just reads media reports to a camera? Did I take the right thing from all of this?

**** continuity. Go get the best coach. I concur.
Jones is only one year into this system so making a change at this stage would be fine.
Mara IMO must think long and hard about this coach. Is this guy the right head coach for this franchise. Can he lead us where we need to go? Or are we just going to waste another couple years and then move on?
It seems like this coach makes fundamental mistakes in every game now. I've given him the benefit of the doubt since day one, but I can no longer support what I am seeing.
I agree 100%. I was totally for giving Shurmur at least 3-4 years to turn it around but after what has happened (particularly this season), I can't see it. We don't want Daniel Jones exposed to a weak coaching staff and a team that is hard to trust. He needs a confident coach...one with a system that can be bought into. I don't think Shurmur has one so he and his staff need to go and the leaving doesn't need to wait. I think Shula should take over but Betcher needs to go also. We don't know what we have on defense, again, a poor or no-system scheme. Why bother? I just assume let the players figure it out. It's a sad state of affairs and Mara needs to take control if Gettleman doesn't. I am more willing to let the GM ride it out another year or so but he is totally on the hotseat as of 2020, January 1.

So doing some research on Rhule
Has a lot of experience on both sides KC the ball coaching and a bunch of positions (Including d line, linebacker,O line,QB and even called plays as an OC)
Definite CEO type His record speaks for himself. Would bring in his own staff(this organization has never had an issue letting coaches do this, and this is why he turned down the Jets job) Was born and raised in NYC
Denzel Mimms plays for him (yes he is a mid round draft crush for a WR)and he could influence Gettleman on getting him(say what you want about Gettleman, one positive is he gets players for his coaches that they want)
My only fear is how much of any wound him and a new staff set the actual rebuild back years wise We spent the past 2 years gutting the entire front 7 to go to a 3/4,so I would hope any new possible coach would try to find a guy who would be able to make what we have into a great unit and not have to completely tear down the D line again.
I'm a little more confident being a college guy and how much of the college style has infiltrated modern offenses that ce could get an OC that fits the system Jones was drafted to be in and not change much so that his progress isn't impeded next year
So yeah .if a change happens this guy is at the top of my list
