My point was, Cohen would create a Mount Everest of a new top spot where he would stand all by himself as no other owner comes close to his personal wealth. I mean, Billions' character Bobby Axelrod is based upon Steven Cohen, right? (??) That is a gigantic and unfounded projection. That's why I'm certain there is some truth to it. The owners in every sport lack the discipline to manage themselves so I could see them needing to collude in order to exclude an owner that might somehow "force" them (lol!) to overspend themselves. Here's the Top 10 list of richest MLB owners. www.forbes.com/sites/kurtbadenhausen/2020/06/10/mlbs-10-richest-team-owners-worth-31-billion-in-2020/#662139d869d1

I assume much of the money would come from his wife. Most celebrity marraiges just don't last, especially in these times. Plus she's older, and the only thing people talk about are her looks.

That DeGrom guy can pitch. Ask Acuna. He found out first hand.

To review: DeGrom looked great Defense solid Yo goes yard Bullpen excellent, Diaz looks like a legit closer and not a choke artist.
On a side note, the guy may not bring much offense, but Inciarte is ridiculous in CF for the Braves. Took(probably) a 2 run HR away from Davis.

By the way, baseball without crowd noise is weird. I’m not sure I will be getting used to sports with no crowd. Rangers playoff series is going to be real odd.

I guarantee you there are owners right now owning sports teams who have done much worse. Much much worse. Arod would be good as an owner IMO. I dont think it would happen though.

So the Mets won their very first game with a DH, thanks to their DH....
How do you like that DH thingy now?

I’d say two teams combining for 1 run speaks a lot more to the pitching than that. I will say that adjustment will save Yo some wear and tear on those fragile legs.

Great pitching also happens in the American League. Without that solo home run from your DH, your team might've lost in extra innings.

I think it's inevitable that it will be made permanent soon. I also think making pitchers who have never hit coming up hit in the majors is silly. The NL is literally the only league in organized baseball without a dh.

I'm waiting for the floating DH rule where teams can send replacement hitters up for any three light hitting players in the lineup.

Light hitting everyday players usually stay on the bench, get sent down, or flat out released.

That's an interesting opinion particularly for a league that hasn't managed to break .260 in a decade. These days home runs are more important than ever, and striking out not so much... All the more reason to get pitchers out of the batter's box because they can't hit for power to make up for the strike outs, because they can't hit period.

So let's just drop all the pretense and have games decided by HR hitting contest. It' all HRs and strikeouts anyway. 9 innings of HR derby. It's either a HR or an out. 3 outs a side. You can have different players in the field than the ones who bat so we don't have to waste fielding spots on the Murphy and Stanton's of the world.

July 24th and the Mets still undefeated July 28th still looks like we have a much improved team. Would have liked to see what they looked like in a real season. Cespedes as a DH could help a lot.

Apparently playing the Red Sox is good for what ails you, namely offense. Nice outing by the rookie.

Even a blind squirrel occasionally finds a nut.
