LOL We live in a world where what people say matters. But sometimes what they do gets a pass we live in a strange place. Strange how it matters to us but not our President. He is one of many targets of the PC police and he could care less which makes me laugh and happy!

You never want to be hunted down by the PC police. They will destroy you in the name of compassion and kindness! LOL We live in a world where what people say matters. But sometimes what they do gets a pass we live in a strange place. What you say always mattered except today it's all about politics.

This thread is turning retarded...just sayin' Luckily we are just a bunch of message boarders, not in the public eye, slaves to public opinion. Thats what being famous and making 12 mill year will do your expected to toe several lines the NFL the team and of course your own rep. It is nice being a simple man sometimes, you can call your buddy what ever you want with 0 back lash. If you worked for a prestigious and lucrative company that was in the spotlight. And publicly called someone a retard then publicly doubled down on stupidity instead of apologizing... ....said company would fire you too.

That is true but he doesn't work for a legitimate big time (and I would add publicly traded) fortune 500 company. He is employed to play along side a bunch of meat heads all of who are hell bent on physically blowing up their opponents. It is not the boy scouts. It is a violent game played by violent people. Of course he reflects poorly on the team with his comments but so do many other people across the league every week, some of whom are applauded for their comments because they fit a certain narrative. I am actually happy to see him go but the sequence makes me queasy. BTW, am I allowed to say "meathead" or are meatheads also a protected class here?

That is true but he doesn't work for a legitimate big time (and I would add publicly traded) fortune 500 company. I disagree with the thought here................ Not a Fortune 500 but for an Organization that is one of only 32 in it's field and recognized through out the World. Again I say if this were a white person/player and had used the "N" word and did a half ass apology like Jenkins did what would be going on now?Would other players around the league welcome him with open arms? It's only a word ........right? Professional athletes are under a bigger microscope then almost anyone. they have a lot of responsibility to be politically correct. Then again our president uses this type of language all the time .

Has given one year in his whole career that he was that kind of player. he should have been thanking the lord the Giants came along with an open check book. And have paid him this long.

Like it our not there is a totally different standard executed by privately held companies versus publicly traded ones. The standard you advance is absolutely used by publicly traded companies. Now you could say that he had reached the tipping point with us because of an accumulation of dumb stuff (calling out coaching staff publicly) included among it and I would agree with you. The word police however are not as absolute with a privately held firm like the NYG. If we were run like a publicly traded company JM would no longer be our CEO, correct? It is just different.

I have no way of knowing one way or the other. But this is crazy to even use it as an excuse. I guess all the work done with special needs people on behalf of the organization means nothing. You are talking to the father of one of them.

Then you should get it more then anyone, for me it is not right this is as bad as using the N word or any other nasty thing people can come up with these days. I think it was Gene Stalling his son was a special needs young man and he said the best thing about him is he knows only one thing caring and love and had 0 biased in his hart. the young man showed his father something not seen often in this world. True humility from the hart. My son is Bi Polar little different but can be a challenge at times.

We need to be less sensitive. It's eroding the fabric of out country. Speech is a good thing. More speech is better than less.
Being too easily offended is a far great problem in our country than offensive speech. The unintended consequences of your stated point of view is that folks are more and more fearful to speak their minds. Nothing could be worse.

Freedom of speech is as much a responsibility as it is a right. That freedom comes with the notion that an individual can self filter when necessary . If one cannot. the consequences of public opinion can be initiated.

Another words, they are ok signing assholes and scum unless everyone knows they are assholes and scum. I don’t know if they’re ok with what you described. All I can comment on is their concern about public image. So as soon as his actions came to light, they released him.

Forget all the race comparisons. If JJ was on the Patriots and they took the same actions as the Giants the media narrative would be quite different. Were the Giants wrong to release him for poorly representing the team in this manner? In isolation probably not. Though I suspect if it was another player, like Barkley for example, I doubt the same actions would be taken. So my issue with it, as is most of the NFL conduct outrage, is how disingenuous it is. The player was going to be let go in a few weeks anyway, so this just became a convenient excuse to do it sooner.
