Your post intrigues me, and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter. We would have to be wearing smoking jackets and smoke pipes in a dark, leather and mahogany ladened, library when reading it. That's exactly how I lead my life...to a T.

I for one am ready to move on. Nothing about Eli has ever made me think he was great but lucky. I am grateful for what he's done but I don't worship the ground he walks on like the rest of you. Good riddance, I want my Giants back! And I hope Eli nets us a win just to adulterate our draft position and make you angry. Yeah, it would be great for Eli to get a meaningless win against one of the worst teams ever assembled at the expense of the team’s future.

And I'll just say this to John Mara. If this game was played at Giants Stadium, the place would be packed to give Eli a proper send off.
And if the dump we share with the Jets is empty or filled with Dolphins fans, that is on you and your greed.
This game should have been played the final Sunday 2 years ago. A goodbye is no longer relevant. As for Mara he is why Eli is still here so Manning owes him a thank you, not vice versa. Eli has been treated better than any Giant in franchise history. Tickets are available for sale for anyone who wishes to say goodbye to Eli. I have season tickets and both will be sitting empty.

Ohh yes , well he’s only played 3 games this year and we are still 2-11 So congrats , you got your giants back ! Appreciating what a guy has given to this franchise and to the fans for the last 16 years has nothing to do with worshipping the ground he walks on.. its simply just showing him a final thank you . Stay home and watch next week when Eli’s out .. I’m sure the results will be much different Fans have even wanted jones benched so Eli can start, I think thats what he means, we can stop being the NY Mannings finally. I personally have no problem with a home game start as a send off. I didn’t see anybody saying to bench jones just so Eli could play prior to jones injury .. once he got hurt it was a different story . They were 2-10 when jones got hurt . At that point why rush him back ? The giants lied and told everyone Barkley isn’t hurt and he finally just admitted he’s been hurt for most of the year .. he’s just finally starting to look explosive after 7 weeks .. if jones has a similar injury why in the world would they rush him back ? It’s just sheer stupidity! Just announce Eli will play the rest of the year and be done with it .. they didn’t even announce till yesterday that Eli was starting so even if you wanted to go watch Eli’s last home game they gave you 2-3 days notice to buy tickets bc all week schurmer was saying well we will see , if Daniels healthy he should play .. No $&@“! Is he healthy or is he hurt ? if it’s Eli’s last home start why the hell Play games ? give people a week notice to get tickets , or to change up work schedules if they want to witness the end of a giants icon . No, this organization can’t even do that right .. I can’t stand schurmer, can't wait for him to be gone.. I get it , prior to coaching for the giants he had zero ties to this organization and he can care less what Eli has meant to most of the fans for years . The guy deserves a proper send off after all he's done.. Schurmer hasn't done anything for this organization and will go back to being irrelevant.

I am going to hold out hope that #10 getting his last home start will draw some more fans. If I were anywhere near there it would have been enough to get me to the Stadium. I am hopeful the embrace from the fans is fantastic and that Good Old Eli makes it something that can carry through the entire game. Despite the negative ramifications of a win, I would love to see one tomorrow.

I’ve never understood the appeal of “saying goodbye”. Eli is not dying. His # will be retired and he will get an actual ceremony. He will be around in interviews. We are 2-11. Eli’s time is over. He’s a backup QB starting a meaningless game. I can’t remember who LT played in his last game, if we won or lost, or if he played well. Sports careers end when guys are old and their play has slipped. They aren’t meant to end like fairytales. Eli’s fairytales were in 07 and 11. It’s almost 2020.

Some of the problem is fans thinking "Eli is not the problem" well he isnt the only problem we all know we have many. Here is much better than facebook and IG where they wanted jones benched a while ago. I dont have an issue with fans wanting to say goodbye to a player that helped us win two sb rings. or any good player for that matter, but do it in a ring of honor ceremony at halftime or something. I just dont want them keeping jones out if he could go for the sake of the disgruntled home fans. (but i do get its a business)

Its a last game for a guy who is on a list a 3 that have been part of the franchise for 15 years or more. if you cant see any type of significance is this then you are devoid of a sense of being a fan. I may not remember it years from now but I will watch today and enjoy it if he starts. Sports careers arent "meant" to end in any specific way or manner. They end how they end. This may be Eli's last home game start. It means something.

He was benched by McAdoo and the fans came out in force to get him his job back and came out and cheered him the next home game. This guy has been treated better than any in NY sports history. I have tickets and am not going. Not to make a stance, but because we stink, the game doesn’t matter and there are better ways to spend the day. Do we say goodbye and he starts again in 2 weeks? Hi bye hi bye. For me the Eli Manning days ended 2 years ago. What’s happened since is fallout and it all started with him foiling McAdoo’s plan to get the other QBs playing time when ironically we were sitting at 2-11 and the games didn’t matter.

I wouldnt care who's last game it is, not paying hard earned money to watch that bearded fool Ryan Fitzpatrick. When the league and this team starts putting better product on the field, I'll reconsider

Well to be fair McAdoo's plan was idiotic and Eli played that perfectly. You either bench him or you don't. This aint Madden football or the preseason.

Maybe he can whine to him about the incompetence that caused all those years to be wasted. That’s a big thing now. Right up there with micro aggressions and politics correctness on behalf of others that haven’t requested it.

McAdoo’s plan was simple: Throw Geno a bone late in game 13 and amp up practice reps for Webb Then the following week either start Webb or bring him in during the game. They were trying to keep Eli’s game streak alive for him while easing the transition without calling it a benching. Eli went against his HC and refused to start. In the end it worked out well for 1 person, Eli. And terribly for one organization, the Giants.
