Who are some of your under the radar guys that you really like currently? It could be guys you think will be mid-late round picks or guys you think will shoot up draft boards throughout the pre-draft process (All-star games, combine, etc)
Lately I’ve been a big fan of Amik Robertson CB Louisiana Tech. He’s a smaller CB in size, but plays much bigger than that. Very physical CB especially for his size. He has good ball skills. He’s a flat out playmaker. I think he could be a really intriguing guy to look to slide in as a nickel CB

He isn’t afraid to stick his nose in there which I can appreciate. I think we need to look at nickel though. I like Ballentine as a player and am rooting for him, especially after his unfortunate draft night, but I don’t think he is a nickel CB. Maybe with continued work he can adjust, but he’s clearly struggling out there. On the other hand he did look good on the outside. Who knows though, Baker struggled big time early and has turned it around drastically for the most part

I watched a couple Pitt games this year and Patrick Jones II stood out in all of them. He seems like a guy that is getting no attention, but I think he is a player. He plays really hard, has some pretty good bend, has some different effective moves rushing the passer, and plays the run well also. I mean I’m not saying he’s Chase Young or will supplement losing out on him, but I certainly think he is an interesting player to throw into the edge rotation with Carter and Ximines

Trevon Short LB/ ST
Fairmont State
Height: 6’ 2 225
Big play capability, and is a facet of his game that makes Short a player to watch. Running, recovering fumbles almost the length of field for a defensive score, or blocking a FG as time expired for the win, is what separates him from others. He is a double digit tackle monster straight up hustler on the D & special teams. His instincts and burst to be around the ball happen consistently. He reads plays fast with the reaction time of a coyote. The savage attack of an apex predator that can flip the hips move laterally like a strong safety.
Played in ten games as a starting LB his junior season for the Fairmont Falcons. Finished the season with 53 tackles, 33 solo, 8 TFL & 4 PBU’s in 2018. His season high came against 10th ranked Notre Dame! Had 8 tackles against Shepherd, 7 of which were solo. He is building on his impressive resume this season. With 44 tackles, 8.5 TFL & a career high 13 tackles in one game. Including 9 solo, 4 ast & 3 ½ tackles for loss. Then had a huge day against GSC having a fumble recovery for a defensive TD.
Short has improved every single year he strapped on a helmet. He is a playmaker that can contribute against the run the pass a special team stand out. Should be high up on the list of consideration for the fact that so many teams value these over 6ft LBs that can cover. Hybrid type like a monster safety that can sit in the box all day. Square up against 300 lb lineman & beat them with speed, power athleticism. Teams need LB’s that can drop into coverage all the time these days as well. Get the best of both worlds with Short . Think he will be a front seven gem to watch out for this All Star Season.

Chazz Surratt LB from North Carolina is extremely intriguing. Former 5 star QB (yes you read that right). He made the switch to LB this year and was just behind Isaiah Simmons for the best LB in the ACC. He is very athletic and is really just learning the position. He had a hell of a year for his first time playing the position. I also think his knowledge of being a QB at that level could be very beneficial to his understanding of what offenses are trying to do out there. I really like this guy and would bet on him to make it one way or another. Has the heart that you dream of for a player on your team

Omar Bayless. Not crazy explosive as far as separation speed, catches everything though. He is a fun player to watch and not talked about much at all

To me he is good enough athletically to make plays against lesser opponents, He looks like at best he would be a Bennie Fowler in the NFL... Need explosive playmakers up and down the position group these days...

If Giants can get Devin Duvernay WR Texas with a 3rd round comp pick or 4th that be a monster steal. Runs 4.35 40-yard dash, 10.77 in the 100 meters. Monster season year where he finally lived up to the 5 star potential.

There are outliers like Landry, Larry Fitz, etc, but ideally I’d like an explosive WR. Not saying they need to be Tyreek Hill. I will say in the 3 games I’d say the team they played where his team would be worse more than likely (on paper) he has some pretty good numbers. Vs Troy he went for 10 catches 213 yards and a TD, vs SMU he went for 10 for 132 and 4 TDs, and he had 7 for for 54 (in a game they were clearly overmatched losing 55-0 lmao). He has talent for sure and I wouldn’t consider snagging him day one or two, but I think he could be an interesting day 3 UDFA type of guy to bring in. I hope he does the Senior Bowl, because that would be a good chance to see him matched up with quality CBs with quality QBs throwing him the ball too

As a late day 3, why not. But I think Slayton has showed us. A guy who had the physical traits might be the better “long shot”

He had the occasional drop, but he showed the ability to make great catches as well, so I think that’s something that will continue to be cleaned up. I think if you have good coaches it is definitely worth rolling the dice on athletically superior later in the draft

Gabriel Davis - WR UCF
He’s a big receiver. He looks the part, wins contested catches. Could polish up on routes it seems. He could kill the combine and shoot up the boards.

Watched a few of his games being from down here I want to see how he tests, guys with his frame many times have seperation issues at the next level because of lack of agility and top speed.. He dominated smaller kids in his division though
