IMHO when you get a chance at talent like that you never turn it down. They got the QB a. I get all of the people who didn't want him at 2 I'm glad at this point we took him tho the QBs so far are no better then Jones and we got the best player in last years draft. If they played like this a few more times we would have gotten maybe the best play in this draft. you get 3 or 4 blue chippers your pretty good to go. I get it, and I think if they didn't have so many other holes it was the right pick. They weren't a RB away from being a good team. There were other holes to fill, you can't run if you can't block, or protect your QB. If they can't take advantage of his next 3-5 years then he was the wrong pick. They may have ended up with another player who could have filled the role, like a Chubb, and maybe have also plugged another couple holes too. I was on board with three options trade down Darnold or Barkely but they need and needed to get moving on that OL now that they have draft capital along with cap space.

Boston Scott. The new Giants killer. Comes out of his cave 2 times a year. To defeate Giants He joined that other no name RB from Az. No name TES & RBs always seem to have career games vs NY, as do rookie QBs. Philly beat NY by 17 with all 3 starting WRs out, their All Pro TE out, All Pro LT got hurt in this game, buncha practice squad players on O . Say what ya want, but our D stinks to high heaven! You're a complete fool if you want a WR as our #1 pick next yr. DL or OL should be the pick in rds 1-2-3-4!

If anybody should be coach of the year it should be Doug Pederson. This guy is a great coach. He won a SB with Nick friggin Foles, who has been terrible everywhere else he's played and now beat Dallas and with a lot of his best players on offense and defense hurt or on IR and still won the division.
Coaching matters.

Coaching matters. Yes. Coaching counts for so much more than people think. part of coaching is to get the right OC, DC and rest of coaching staff in place as well. Thats why I thought TC was doomed when they fired Kevin Gillbride. I never understood that firing because when TC had him as our OC from 2007-2013 we won two SuperBowls and although the O had some issues, it was lethal when it was on. he ran a high risk high reward system sometimes it got little harry. When guys had time in the system and new it , it was tough to defend.

Eli may not have had the best stats in that system but he was more dangerous in that system than in any other. Its too bad that we went away from it. They were more forced to go away from it because the the OL could no longer hold up that offense was vertical and needed time to develop.

They were more forced to go away from it because the the OL could no longer hold up that offense was vertical and needed time to develop. Then what you do is to draft and sign players to fit those needs. it also takes WR, particularly the "X" to read and change routes while the play was going on. I think TC and Kevin Gillbride had been pushing to upgrade the Line for quite some time. That O worked quite well in 2011 and if it had only fallen off for a season or two and Kevin Gillbride was released in 2013, thats a dumbo move. He was let go because they couldn't give him what was needed. An OL they fell a sleep at the wheel.
