With a rookie QB? The Browns were 13th in offense that year. You can't seriously pin the record on the OC. He was calling the plays this past season . What was that excuse? As I said prove me wrong in my inclination . He sucks in any adhortative role. OB coach no problem. TE coach no problem. RB coach no problem . OC big problem. I wouldnt say he sucked at OC. not at all it got him the HC job. However id rather not it be him we hire.

You can't draw a comparison between HC and OC. Shurmur had the same role and he's already expected to have a coordinator job. Some of the best OC's in the league were awful head coaches. I'm not going not listen to a Press conference like that then question who Joe Judge hires in his key roles. Nope.

Are you saying 7-8-1 In his only stint as an OC ever makes him one of the leagues best OCs? To me he has only proved one thing he is mediocre. The Brown were 17th in points in 18, Giants were 15th. In 19 the Browns were 22th. Giants were 19th . You want this guy as our OC . Really? I will say it again prove me wrong that he would be a good OC and play caller?

Brilliantly said. i don't think any of us would have picked Joe Judge from our laptops, but even if its only good PR instincts that's already better than what we've had here in awhile. 100% of the candidates for this role are complete unknowns in terms of probability of success, any attempt to decide if an OC is a good choice or a bad choice is literally nothing more than a guess. He should be able to pick the weirdest off the wall coordinators he wants to. He doesn't sound dumb, whether they're the "best" coordinator available, or some complete oddball choice, the only thing that matters is that this team starts getting better and he sounds like he knows thats the only standard that matters. If he thinks Kitchen is his best option, he's owed the chance to prove himself right or wrong.

If we get Wade and Garrett (or whatever the most popular choices are for coordinators) and we suck, they're going to get torn down the same way. We are at the point where we have to get better or its getting blown up again, doesn't matter who we hire. I don't think for a second Mara/Tisch ("we'll be patient this time") will have the management strength to withstand the onslaught of rage they'll experience if this team doesn't improve significantly.

FREDDIE KITCHENS C, UNSIGNED FREE AGENT According to ESPN's Jordan Raanan, Giants coach Joe Judge is expected to reach out to ex-Browns coach Freddie Kitchens about a position on his staff. It's the first interest Kitchens has received since his firing last month. Kitchens fared disastrously in his one season atop the Browns' chain of command, though he's had success as both a position coach and coordinator and knows Judge from their time together at Mississippi State. A 38-year-old making the leap from specials teams coordinator to head coach, Judge would be wise to surround himself with an experienced staff in East Rutherford. RELATED: New York Giants SOURCE: Jordan Raanan on Twitter Jan 9, 2020, 1:14 PM ET Judge seems to be looking at a short tenure and Gettleman fired in 2021. This is a run-a-way dumpster fire and a match hasn't even been struck. They asked him about Freddie kitchens on WFAN and he said that Freddie kitchens is a friend who did a lot for his career but he probably wouldn’t hire friends.

If he thinks Kitchen is his best option, he's owed the chance to prove himself right or wrong. I will ask you the same question. He has 2 seasons as a play caller 1 as an OC/play caller. The other as an HC. As the HC/OC/play caller, was a favorite to be in the SB He had with OBJ, Chubb Landry and could not win more than 6 games calling plays Where is his proven competence? With his track record how is not more than a guess? We just fired 2 HCs for the exact thing this guy was doing. I can not believe the illogical commentary on this site. It is hilarious. If or HC is a bright as he appears and wants to be more than a 2 year HC. He wont inert this guy as our OC. BB said one thing that should stick with him " My coaches are not going to get me fired."

He was a good enough coordinator to get a head coaching job. Id be happy to have him as a coordinator. He was calling plays. The browns offence was Macadoo levels of basic
