i realize taking away the rings is unrealistic, but they should take away the MVP from Altuve and give it to 2nd place Judge. Clearly Altuve was in on it, and benefited from it.

Too light.
Coaches are replaceable $5m is pocket change Draft picks aren't as valuable as the NFLs.
Take away their previous accomplishments or ban them for the next couple of years in the playoffs.
Or force their pitchers to show what they are throwing the next 2 years.

Red Sox’s Alex Cora is going to get crushed after Astros cheating scandal. If you thought the punishments levied at the Astros following MLB’s investigation into sign-stealing were harsh, just wait. Current Red Sox skipper and former Houston coach Alex Cora likely still faces penalties after it was determined that he “arranged for a video room technician to install a monitor displaying the center field camera feed immediately outside of the Astros’ dugout.” According to The Post’s Joel Sherman, a “stern punishment” is expected for the Boston manager. The report also stated that Cora “was involved in developing both the banging scheme and utilizing the replay review room to decode and transmit signs.” nypost.com/2020/01/13/red-soxs-alex-cora-is-going-to-get-crushed-after-astros-cheating-scandal/

Watch em win 65 -70 games this season now that the drum signals have been removed. I would think that even beyond a team having to go back to playing clean, and being paranoid that they are now being closely watched - they would also have lost a bit of the natural feel for how to out think and play their opponents. This could be a major turnaround of power in the AL.

Players are turning on the Astros.
They need to have the title vacated.

Players are turning on the Astros. They need to have the title vacated. You only have to look the Bicycling for precedent. Lance's Tour's were all vacated. That would send a strong message!!

So where’s Justin Verlander? He is usually the first to comment on allegations of cheating and how it’s wrong for the game. I guess when it involves himself and his team he disappears. Tainted Championship. The Astros played like a completely different team at home that season. Now we know why..
I remember a Astros pitcher was complaining how the Yankees fans treated him in the playoffs. From now on I hope the bleacher creatures rip that team apart every time they see them. And ban Cora for life.. Treat that hack for what he is. A piss poor manager who has to cheat to win.

I don't follow baseball as much as I used to but I was always wondering how the heck did the Astros become such a powerhouse team all of a sudden, now I know. And yet Pete Rose is still banned from the game for his "awful" crimes against baseball. But hey, you can kill dogs & beat women & not be banned for life.

Again...then you MUST vacate the Yankees 2000 WS championship since Roger Clemens was charged with lying to Congress about his steroid use. You also MUST vacate the Yankees 2009 WS title because ARod admitted and was suspended for PED use.
What's good for the goose........
Or does that only apply for Yankee rivals?

Ya know, for someone who rooted for the Yankees at one point before pledging the Red Sox flag pole, you sure keep the Yankees hatred in the mind quite a bit. Its 2020. The late 90s early 2000s want their whine back.

this has been covered before, but juicing was rampant throughout the league at the time, both batters and pitchers. yankees were not at all unique in having players that juiced. some non-yankee juicers: sammy sosa (Cubs), barry bonds (Giants), jose conseco (A's), mark maguire (As), Mo vaugn (Red Sox), Juan Gonzelez (Rangers), Mike Piazza (Mets), David Ortiz (Red Sox), Miguel Tejada (Astros), Ivan Rodriguez (Rangers), Manny Ramirez (Red Sox), Gary Sheffield (Brewers), Rafael Palmeiro (Orioles), and on and on ... Given it was so rampant, its impossible to say a team gained advantage over another. Unlike the current sign stealing scandal where only two teams -- Astros and Red Sox, winners* of 2 of 3 last WCS -- are implicated. but you knew this already ...

No way they vacate the 2017 Astros title unless you want them to start looking into other teams cheating scandals which includes steriod use.

Well then if you are comparing the Steroid use in MLB 15-20 years ago to the Sign Stealing Scandal here, then the players need to be suspended like steroid users.

I actually agree with that philosophy. I'm a mets fan and if Beltran was involved then he needs to be suspended at worst and/or even fire him.

Michael Kay now asking if Altuve knew Chapman was throwing breaking ball on the HR he hit to end Yankees 2019 season ... Ive brought that up earlier on this board, something very fishy about that whole at bat and series really, including the balls and strikes calls in game 7. Basically all their accomplishments* over last 3 years are now in question
