The Astros should as a minimum be banned from the postseason for at least 3 years. An entire team was banned from MLB in 1920 Pete Rose was banned for less Why do these guys gat to walk with out reparation? The only messages the commissioner sent are The rules do not matter. Responsibility for ones actions are negotiable.

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Angels superstar Mike Trout became the latest player to express anger and frustration with the Astros over their electronic sign-stealing. Trout, a three-time AL MVP and eight-time All-Star, has played in the same division as Houston for seven of his nine MLB seasons and was surprisingly candid for a player known for his reserved nature. “It’s sad for baseball,” Trout said Monday. “It’s tough. They cheated. I don’t agree with the punishments, the players not getting anything. It was a player driven thing. It sucks, too, because guys careers have been affected. A lot of people lost jobs. It was tough. Me going up to the plate knowing what was coming? It would be fun up there. A lot of guys lost respect for some of the guys. It seems like every day something new is coming out.” www.mlb.com/angels/news/mike-trout-comments-on-astros-sign-stealing

If the face of baseball says so, then it is. Mike Trout is the best player this game has seen in over 50 years. It's not a good look when he is saying the Astros should be punished more.

Braves' Nick Markakis says every Astro 'needs a beating' for sign stealing Atlanta Braves outfielder Nick Markakis has joined the chorus blasting the Houston Astros over their sign-stealing scandal, telling reporters "every single guy over there needs a beating." "It's anger," Markakis told reporters of his reaction to the Astros' scandal and the ensuing response. "I feel like every single guy over there needs a beating. It's wrong. They're messing with people's careers." www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/28728594/braves-nick-markakis-says-every-astro-needs-beating-sign-stealing

Some guy called into WFAN and said they should be forced to rename their team the Asterisks. Thought it was funny.

People were saying they were likely to remain as perennial doormats, or even fold operations. You can see where some plan of having a way to gain unfair advantage over these other teams could have been embraced by the players. It feels like a situation where everyone could be all in on it.

MLB has to feel indifferent about how much attention it is getting these. On one hand, it is the most attention they have gotten arguably since the McGwire and Sosa home run Chase. On another hand, the attention has been overwhelmingly negative about the lack of a punishment to the Astros' players. Baseball is my #1 sport and I do not like the negative attention it is getting. The absolutely only way MLB can get ahead of this is to have Houston vacate their title and pennants. The Red Sox should do the same if they are remotely involved with cheating the way that the Astros did.

That seems true but the commissioner gave the players immunity. Players union will go nuts if they try to take anything away from them now.

Needless to say Clevelands Clevinger will be part of the Astros staff any time soon. "Why would you need a piece of paper to say sorry for being the biggest piece of shit in baseball history?" Clevinger said Thursday on Barstool Sports' Starting 9. "I don't understand that, but they did. They needed a piece of paper and read it like a robot. First I've ever heard those boys talk about it. "They just keep on referring to one year when everybody in the right mind knows it was every single year and they just got caught." www.thescore.com/mlb/news/1949848

Canseco, a six-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion, tweeted support for Fiers and his decision to alert MLB about the Astros’ cheating scheme in 2017. The 55-year-old also worked in a shot at Ortiz, hinting at Ortiz’s playing through the steroid era and his past positive test for performance-enhancing drugs in 2003. sportsnaut.com/2020/02/jose-canseco-defends-mike-fiers-for-whistleblowing-calls-out-david-ortiz/

Ortiz basically got away with it all. I am not surprised that he took Houston's side on this.

They are just sorry about being caught. Now we get to wait and see what happens to the Boston Red Sox, who have to be shitting bricks right now.

People that send either of the sides death threats are pathetic losers who have no lives. Anyways, Michael Kay complains about the Astros daily and so does every single local LA sports radio host out this way. Even the great Donnie Baseball was on the Dan Patrick show complaining about why Fiers didn't blow the whistle while he was playing for the Astros. This certainly isn't going away for at least this season.

Ugly.
So is that it on punishment? Can MLB change their mind and have the Astros titles stripped?
