Perez is the real deal for the NY Guardians at QB. Has the eye of the tiger. Check out his bio. Dude is a winner.

Ok well, I'm watching this NY game. Missed the mast couple.
Perez is much better than McGloin.
It's still like watching a bunch of practice squad guys.

The XFL is a good deal for these guys and they seem to really enjoy playing the game. I wonder how many think the XFL will get them into the NFL? I don't think it will happen for hardly any of them. Take it for what it is and have an XFL career. They make decent money really. Not NFL money but it will pay the bills until you retire.
There are some fine athletes in the XFL. The skillsets are not NFL caliber, the receivers miss a lot of catches, the QBs are mediocre to poor or they just plain suck.
The enthusiasm is there. The teams also seem fairly well matched so the games are competitive.

XFL should get better talents once they bring in the college kids the NFL wont yet.
College will suffer.

Tyree Jackson now starting for DC
Lots of RBs I recognize
What I definitely have noticed is a lot of the NFL jags have been replaced by the running RPO/Read option type QBs and the level of qb play has improved, again, like the college game, your best throwers end up in the NFL and the easiest way to get an offense moving is with a running RPO qb,and like college the level of athleticism on defense is not what it is at the NFL. I think what else w will see are bottom end wrs/practice squad guys start to play in this league just to get playing time as well..
It's very watchable and I hope this league sticks around, seems like the crowds are showing up.

XFL officially cancels season due to coronavirus The XFL has scrapped the rest of its revival season due to the coronavirus pandemic. “The COVID-19 pandemic, and the most recent local and state regulations, have left the XFL no choice but to officially cancel the remainder of the 2020 season,” the league said in a statement. “This decision has been made with the health and safety of the entire XFL family as our top priority. While we are disappointed to not complete the 2020 season, our hearts are full of appreciation for your overwhelming support.” The Vince McMahon-backed spring football league had been dealing with declining ratings and attendance since a strong debut weekend Feb. 9. nypost.com/2020/03/20/xfl-officially-cancels-season-due-to-coronavirus/

Welp, sounds like Coronavirus killed this league. They just let go of everyone associated with it. Back to square one.

Gee, that didn't last very long. Very disappointing.
McMahon must have financial problems since he was self-funding the league.

I thought that I would bring this thread back to discuss some of the games. So far, it seems good enough. As long as you don't expect NFL level kind of play, you can enjoy the game. I never thought I would see a Bob Stoops vs Rod Woodson HC matchup. I like that they take you inside the booth during a review of a play. That would be useful in an NFL game IMO.

As excited as I would be watching televised minor league baseball. That's fair. I'm a season ticket holder for the minor league baseball team in my town. The XFL will never be as good as the NFL and the players know this. They're using it as an opportunity to hopefully land in the NFL. I can't knock their hustle.

But I'll be watching MLB in the spring. Minor league baseball is fun live, but I wouldn't watch it on TV.

I saw some of the first half, consider me impressed with the flow and rules so far. NFL could adapt these kickoff rules to help on injuries instead of eliminating them. February 8th, 2020. All was right with the country. And TheAnalyst made a suggestion. And the NFL has officially listened. New Kick Off Rules in NFL
