It is always great to go back into the time machine and see the Giants whoop some 49ers ass.

That Jerry Rice fumble............ I was nervous as hell heading into this game. That fumble was huge and a statement that the recent dominance by the 49ers was over.

That fumble was an absolute game-changer. My uncle that I watched the game with was just as nervous as you were. I was 8 years old and that was one of the few games that I watched on TV in its entirety before I became a teenager.

Jim Burts hit on Joe Montana was so hard that my bones rattled. I was in sec 107 back then. Light out game over as Montana left the field.

Miss the Madden-Summerall Sundays! Tom Brookshire and Summerall were all so very good! Brookshire and Madden unfortunately was during the dark ages and I associate that team with the first Cowhumper reign of terror.

So out of boredom I watched this My God it's a totally different game than what we see today... 1.Simms having the 2nd most passing yards in the NFC at 3300 yards,(Eli had more yards every year when he was a full time starter I think)it was still a very run heavy league for sure. 2.the formations, hardly any spread (maybe 10 plays between both teams),everything in tight in between the hash Mark's with mostly 2 backs. 3.Definity a "slower" league,in that the speed of the game was definitely a lot slower, which is why a back like Morris was so devestating,he would get through the line and gone. 4.Banks was also playing at another speed, that entire playoff run, maybe Ray Lewis, but I cant remember a defense player playing at that level in a playoff run better than Banks, and look who was on his team.
Madden giving us all a physics lesson in the 3rd quarter was amusing as ****.

I was at that game and traffic was so bad I arrived after kickoff. Was walking down aisle to my seat when Rice fumbled. Second year in a row we stymied them in a playoff game. Held them to 3 points in each game. Beat em 17-3 in 85 playoffs.
