I have never seen anything like this across the world of sports. The bay area has banned gatherings of 1,000 or more people, which have made the Warriors play the rest of their home games in an empty arena. The first one will be against the Brooklyn Nets tomorrow night. The Mariners and San Francisco Giants are either rescheduling home games or considering playing them in other stadiums. Media access has been limited. I think that it is very possible that several opening day baseball games, NCAA tournament games, and NBA playoff games might be played in empty arenas and stadiums. I am very curious to see how the NFL will react when they start playing their games. I think that preseason games might either be played in empty stadiums are cancelled altogether if this stuff is still going down in the late summer. How awkward would it be to watch a regular season game with no fans in attendance? In my opinion, it is better to overreact than underestimate in some cases, with this being one of them.

NCAA march madness could be cancelled. Playing in front of no one is fine, but how do they travel?
Ivy league cancelled their conference tournament.

Just wanted to add a little expert opinion (not Joe Rogan's) minus the political and media spin.

It is not even that bad. Imagen if something as deadly as 1918 flu were to hit. 1.9 million deaths in the US and 50 million globally.

Even Tom Hanks and his wife have it. deadline.com/2020/03/tom-hanks-rita-wilson-test-positive-coronavirus-elvis-presley-movie-1202880431/. I honestly prefer overreaction (if that is what it is) than downplaying its impact. Even that deadly flu had its starting point. I am not saying that we should all stop living our lives and staying indoors, but I would take this more seriously if I were you.

The Flu in the first 2 months and 11 days of 2020 has claimed 4800 US citizens ( and it not a bad strain like the Spanish flu of 1918) In that same time frame Corona has killed 33 people in the US.

I don't look at it as "the sky is falling". I think that the concerns are legitimate. I'm not going to wait until someone close to me is affected to care about it. Anyways, let's agree to disagree about this. It is going to be really interesting to see how this impacts NFL operations. Would they suspend their operations and games?

The flu is over 1000% more deadly no one lets it effect the daily operations of life or society. It is introduction of fear without substance. When fear is introduced control is not far off.

Panic is a poison.
This is a bad thing but not nearly as bad as media made it. It's not the black plaque.
There will be many deaths, many illnesses, ect, but half the country due to politics will turn and make it much worse.
This is awful for human kind and these assbags on CNN and FOX can all got **** themselves for using as a political weapon.
God bless all of you and your families.
Go Giants.

Which this basicly is another new strain of which is why its hitting so hard

“The NBA has suspended their season. That means there will be no games. Back to you Joe” If you're going to post this, you need to cite Booger McFarland. It is plagiarism without that. LOL

MLB is now suspending spring training and will most likely have a delayed start to the season as well. NHL is also suspending play.

TV sponsors will pay just as much if not more now.

My first wife (Sicilian). It was all my fault though. I was relatively young, playing in a band, with a tour bus. After dropping me off one morning, she put a pair of garden shears to the driver's throat. I also had a terrible cocaine habit then and ran up a dept of $30,000 ....to our manager. I am 10 years clean (of coke) and 8 years into my second marriage. She straightened my ass out and helped me pay off my debts. And now she's dealing with my declining health. The woman is a saint. And 11 year younger and way hotter than I deserve.

All of you who have dangerously insisted that this Pandemic is mostly political or some kind of a paranoid syndrome, blown way out of proportion need to simply shut the **** up! This needs to be taken seriously. No one knows how this ends. No One! It is said that China seems to be getting a handle on this. Not true. Everyone who is infected is in isolation from their families. What happens when quarantine is lifted? No one knows. NO one!
There is a complete failure of the Federal Government to recognize the threat we are facing. We are the worst in the world in testing. Let that sink in, Trump supporters. CDC is way understaffed and impotent. I'll be 81 next month. What do you think my chances are if I'm unlucky to get it. My wife was just diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing chemo. Her immune system would not be able to handle this virus.
So please, don't preach to me about "the sky is falling" panic. Maybe we have a chance if you people grow up a bit and listen to the professionals. I don't want you prayers or your platitudes. I want your Attention.

I was not preaching I was stating facts. The fact is 1400 people in the Country have died since January from the flu. 33 Form Corona. So I will ask you this . If the flu take more victims. Why is there no reporting, government meetings , Event shutdowns with influenza ? (12 weeks) 3 per week with corona. 117 per week with the flu. Why no panic with the flu? There is no cure . You don't know if the vaccine defends against the right strain. I will use your words NO one knows no one if the flu will kill them.
