So all of them had an arthritic knee? Until you show the medical condition . IMO Your blowing smoke, I can go through a list of QB also cut in their 20 just as long. Gurley was cut because of a chronic condition. No. They wore out. And often in 5 years or less. Just like Todd Gurley. This is what happens to NFL RB's. I'm not saying there aren't exceptions....but they are VERY rare.
Prove they were worn out.

Prove they were worn out. So many aren't in the league anymore. ...and most I listed are still in their 20's. Why do you think that is?
To try to make the argument that a RB's effectiveness isn't shorter than other positions defies logic. This isn't the 70's or 80's anymore. RB's don't last.
My God, Ladanian Tomlinson had, what most consider a long career. He had 13,000+ yards. He had 7 good years. His YPC dropped in season 8 by a yard and then finished his career as a role player in NY for two years. 11 years but only 7 as a great back.
He's had a LONG career compared to other high level RB's. Retired at age 31.

It the same as any other position .It is supply and demand. I would bet money the % other players in the respective positions in/out are the same as RBs

Having an all world running back is great, in fantasy football. But what we have seen over many years that teams find quality pro running backs all throughout the draft. For example we won two Super Bowls with a 4th and a 7th round picks at running back.
As great as Barkley is, and he is great. We have only won 9 games the last two years with arguably the best running back in the league. The Chiefs won the super bowl, can anyone name their starting running back?

You are grasping my friend. How am I grasping? I don't see your facts displayed. I seen a list you subtitled without proof. How can you prove how "effective" a player is? The fact is that good RB's rarely have more than 5 to 7 years of effectiveness.
Now please list the RB's who are over 35 that are playing at a high level.
I can list 10 to 15 QB's.

That is not true. I can give a list. That lead their team to a SB. Forget twenty years ago. The league has changed, which is the point. So Franco Harris and Emmitt Smith are moot. We are talking about the modern NFL.
Lets look at the recent SB winners. Let's see how many of them had a top 5 RB.
Chiefs.....NO Pats.........NO Eagles......NO Pats.........NO Broncos...NO Pats........NO Seahawks...YES. You can say that Lynch was a big factor Ravens....NO Giants......NO
Packers...NO Saints......NO Giants......NO Colts........NO
I can keep going. Teams who win championships generally do with RB by committee. I went back 13 years and I found one team with a top RB.
Giants....

Of course teams still run the ball lol. They run them with 1st round RBs and UDFA RBs. History hasn't been nice to the 1st round RBs as far as SB wins the past 20-25 years.
