I think that this is a reach to claim.. They will always go by the chart and maybe add a slight advantage to the team that has the pick.. It literally happens almost every draft there is a big trade up for a QB. Example: Jets moving up 3 spots, 6 to 3, for three 2nd rounders. Jets receive 3rd pick (2200 points) for Darnold Colts receive 6th pick (1600 points) 37th pick (530 points) 49th pick (410 points) and 34th pick (560 points). So a total of 3100 points. According to the chart, a value over pay.  These "values" are not relevant when a team trades up for a QB |

Yea I know the Jerry Jones or the Dallas chart. But I'm not going with it when a franchise QB is the significant piece of the trade. 2 years ago the Jets gave the Colts three 2nd rd picks to move from the 6th to the 3rd pick in the draft. As far as I'm concerned the precedent has been set.
I'm only interested in 1st and 2nd rd picks for the 4th pick in the draft. Now I'm asking for 2 first rounders and 2 second rounders.
Miami - They're not going to give up their draft of 3 first rds and 2 second rds picks. They'll go another year with McCown and draft Lawrence next year. Next year they could make the trade if necessary imo. I might let Miami chew me down a 2nd rd pick. Or maybe even a 1st rd pick if they add a 2nd and their 3rd. Don't know if they go for it but that's my plan A. I would love to get some of their multiple high picks in this draft.
Chargers - Asking the same of course settle for swapping 1st rds and getting their 2nd and 3rd this year and their 2nd next year. Of course if we could get their 1st next year we jump on it.
Carolina - could be the most anxious to jump, their suppose to release Newton today or tomorrow. I think we could get 2 first and their 2nd. Possibly even say a 4th which we could use with another pick to jump back into the 3rd. Possibility ? I am probably the most flexible with them cause I don't want to go back to the Raiders at #12 or beyond. I'd rather pick my guy at #4. And who knows if the Raiders are even interested.
A trade with any of these 3 teams were still sitting pretty. I think we still have an excellent chance of getting our guy that we wanted in first place. If not we take our 2nd choice Simmons or the next best OT. Wins all over the place.
Thanks for posting this thread it's always interesting to me to think about and see how far off I am. It always seems I'm wrong, it never happens the way I see it.

Im still hoping for a Thomas/Wirfs + Ruiz/Cushenberry package. If those 2 positions get solidified, if helps the entire team out. Obviously helps DJ by giving him more time and confidence, helps Saquon by opening holes and keeping the defense out of the backfield, but also helps the defense by keeping offensive drives moving. Time of possession. Meat and potatoes draft. Get it done. I’m with you 100 % on this. And let me add, if Skins pick Young and we have to face him 2x a year all the more reason to go OL Thomas. Question is , will the Skins be looking at OL due to Trent Williams debacle and leave Young sitting there ??? |

Atlanta traded up for Jones (which netted them an elite dynamic receiver but no super bowls.) |

What is interesting about this area of the draft is that Simmons has drawn a lot of attention and you wonder if the Redskins might not consider him. I know it is probably odd to take Simmons over Young, but these are the Skins owned by Snyder. That litteraly would be the most Redskin thing to happen.. |

Burrow #1,Redskins traded for a QB ,they will not take Tua ...most likely Chase Young ,Lions just traded Slay most likely they are going Jeff Okudah and that leaves the Giants at#4 with I hope Simmons or one of the big four OT. I think we all pretty much see it the same way, sounds right on the money to me. If anybody trades out Detroit looks like they get the offer first. Simmons or one of these fab four OT's would be a really strong pick by us imo also. |
