Good. I welcome the draft the end of April. The more things can return to normal, the better.

I enjoy the draft under normal times. Really looking forward to the diversion it will provide.

My Question is , when Goodall goes to the podium. Will they pump in booing ( from fans) to keep the tradition alive.

This makes no sense. The draft is only a few weeks from now, and as of today you can not be in any sort of groups. Each day the numbers are going up not down. To say in that amount of time we can get back to "normalcy" is a pipe dream. Unless they plan on doing the draft on the moon.
Am I missing something? Is the draft going to be done with everyone wearing their ppe? Instead of shaking the hand of the commissioner you bump elbows? I'm all for life getting back to normality, but this seems like a long shot.

True story: Gooddell appears on stage in front of the audience a few minutes before the draft so that when the broadcast actually begins, the booing isn't as loud when he appears on stage again.

The draft, however it’s produced, will allow football fans the opportunity to focus on football instead of the pandemic. I for one find it interesting to consider all the ways the league has and will adapt to this season. It can’t come soon enough as far as I’m concerned.

I'm glad that they aren't delaying the draft as well. As long as they are still practicing social distancing. Most clubs already know who's on their boards by now. BUT.......wtf is up with Goodell putting a gag order on anyone publicly discussing it?

If it can be done safely, why not proceed with it? I don't care one iota about the production value -- if they tweet the picks out I would be happy. For some reason, the media is trying to push this "bad optics" or "tone deaf" narrative about the NFL proceeding with its business, but I don't get the sense that fans feel this way at all (at least the two other fans who are holed up in my house with me don't!).

No podium, just a live ticker with some analysts discussing, they don't even have to be broadcasting from the same location. Hold all interviews of players, coaches, team officials all remotely. Goodell could still announce the picks from a private studio if he wants. I'll watch all day, I don't need an audience full of idiots yelling at every pick. The draft day event itself is entirely unnecessary.

It certainly is going to be odd seeing everyone in their bedrooms / offices all by themselves on a video conference line. Imagine a glitch and they dont get the pick in on time? Hopefully DG isnt in control of our draft lines.

You think that the ratings will be substantially worse? I'm not so sure. For me, all that pomp and circumstance gets annoying ….

Great! We really need some diversion and there is nothing like the NFL draft to do that. How may reruns of past playoff games can we watch without falling asleep.
Honestly, the NFL should not be defensive at all about this move. More of us are sitting at home than at any time in the past 100 years. We can all use something different to take our minds off the obvious.
I think it is reasonable to call the draft therapeutic.
Let's go!!
